Hi everybody, welcome to our next episode of The Great Cover-Up!
Let’s get started!
I die cut all the pieces from White Cardstock. All coloring is done with Distress Oxide Inks.
Adhere the patterned paper to the card front and then the largest Embossed Skinny Frame on foam tape. Adhere the Picket Fence and the Grassy Edge. Arrange the roses and leaves and adhered those. Fill in with berries. Finally, adhere the sentiment on foam tape.
PAPER: Bitty Big: Berry Sorbet
DIES: Into the Blooms: Roses, Grassy Edge, Border Bling: Embossed Skinny Frames, Feathered Friends 19
I was inspired by my fellow designer, Becky, to create a birthday card for this challenge. You know how much I love my layers, so for today’s card, I piled them on, but in a very simple way.
The Cover Plate: Big Balloon die is such a great die to have in your birthday stash. I love it because it creates adorable, memorable, and unique cards very easily. After sponging ink over my die cut balloons, I added dimensional adhesive to allow a few of my balloons to pop and be lifted above the flat surface of the others. I then added extra embellishments such as stencils, ribbon, die cut bows, and glitter.
My sentiment is also a very quick and easy element that packs a powerful punch. I’ve used the Mash-Up Birthday stamps and dies, layering them over a die cut It’s A Sign: Hanging Frames. This just give added depth and grounds the sentiment just enough to prevent it from getting lost in the background.
Hope you’ll join us in creating a birthday card or two this week! You can never have too many on hand, right?
