Stamp-A-Faire 2018: Creating Plantable Paper With Heather Nichols

Learn how to make your own handmade paper using a few basic tools and items you probably already have at home! We will incorporate pretty embellishments from the garden and add seeds so that the paper can actually be planted in a garden and enjoyed again as it blooms!

Instructions:

Follow the instructions in the video to learn how to make your own handmade, plantable paper.

Supplies:

  • Shredded Paper, Blender, Plastic Bin, Mould & Deckle, Glitter, Dried Flowers, Flower Seeds, Cotton Muslin, Sponge, Boards

  • Now it’s your turn!  Create some handmade paper.  You can choose to re-create the exact project from Heather above or design your own using the same concepts. Your project must also incorporate at least one Papertrey product.
  • Post your project on your blog, in your gallery, Instagram or on any other photo-hosting site (such as photobucket or flickr).
  • Add your project to the InLinkz list below.
  • You will have until 7am ET, Thursday, August 30th, to add your link to the list to be eligible to win. One project per person please.

    It’s not quite as good as being there in person, but I’ve been enjoying watching the live video with Heather’s instructions and the ladies making paper. We do get to “converse” with the other people on YouTube, so it feels a little bit like we’re there… or at least at our own party!

    I LOOOOVE THIS, Heather! I have wanted to learn how to make home-made paper since FOREVER! LOL I always thought you needed glue to hold it all together in the mixture & am SO HAPPY to know that I don’t need it! This is DEFINITELY something I will try!     My sister gave me some beautiful sheets of handmade paper. Now I know how to make it myself ?. Putting seeds in the paper so it can be planted is a great idea.

    Just recently, the company that recycles materials for our city decided to stop collecting paper due to the decline in demand from China. We were so disappointed until we thought of making new paper with the old paper. This is so timely for us! Thanks to Heather and PTI! We now have a way to use some of the paper that we used to send for recycle. And I will have fun using the paper in my crafting!

    Oh how much fun are you ladies having! Wish I could be there in person, but watching from home and will
    definitely try making paper with flower seeds and petals in it to put on my cards!

    Ok, I’ve oredered my mould and deckle from Amazon…due to arrive tomorrow. I’ve never tried making paper…looks very interesting. I’ll give it a go! The weather here in SoCal has been quite warm so the paper should dry quickly. 😉

    I want to try this as soon as possible. Ran over to Target and found an Oster blender on sale for $17. I got a couple of small wood frames and Joann’s and some screen at the hardware store. Score!
