Strip-Stitch-die

The new Strip Stitch die cuts a perfect 5-1/2" border with pre-cut stitching holes.  You can stitch stripes, chevrons or any pattern you choose.  You can even do words or monograms!  This is also beneficial because it allows you to do all sorts of stitching without having to cover up the back of the stitches on the inside of your card, since this die creates a second layer!

  • It will retail for $7.
  • Strip Stitch die measures 5-1/2" x 1-3/4".

Latte-Love-die

We're happy to bring you the Latte Love die this month, to coordinate with the previously released Latte Love stamp set.  Bust out your stamp set, pair it with this fun new die and the design possibilities are virtually endless!

The Details:

  • Latte Love die will be available for purchase on November 15th.
  • It will retail for $4.
  • Latte Love die measures 1-3/8" x 3".

Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!

Sew Glad We're Friends Card
I kept my first project pretty simple so I could showcase all the wonderful flower buttons included in Stitched With Love.  I die-cut several buttons from white cardstock and stamped them with their coordinating images using Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Terracotta Tile and Raspberry Fizz inks.

Buttons
I die-cut the new Strip Stitch die from white cardstock (LOVE this thing, so many possibilities!)  and stitched the buttons randomly using white crochet thread.  I cut and knotted the thread behind each button so the excess didn't show behind the holes.

Sentiment
The sentiment was added to the white card base with True Black ink.

Down
And the completed Strip Stitch panel was adhered to the left of the sentiment with Scor-tape just at the bottom and top.

Bird Thank You Card
Next up is a project that showcases the sweet little embroidery hoop in the set.  The hoop in Stitched With Love is a petite little 1-3/4" compared to the 2-1/2" version found in the previously released Stitched Sentiments set.  This allows extra space for the second die-cut layer that makes it look like there is excess Aida cnvas around the edge of the hoop.

Stitching pattern
I started with the Background Basics: Needlepoint set and stamped it onto Pure Poppy cardstock, heat embossing it with White Filigree Embossing Powder.  I love how this makes it almost look like real stitching!

Pins
For the hoop, I stamped it in Dark Chocolate.  Then added companion images from the set in Pure Poppy, Simply Chartreuse and Aqua Mist.  The sentiment (from Bountiful Banners) was added in True Black.  Notice that the back die-cut was impressed with the Aida impression plate.  Two pearl pins finish it off.

Down
Everything was adhered to a Classic Kraft card base.

Thanks Sew Much Card
This project is very clean and simple, but the addition of the stitching really makes it pop.  One of the things I love about the Strip Stitch die is that you can trim it to whatever size you need, you don't have to leave it at it's full size.

Sentiment
I started by stamping the needle and thread image from Stitched with Love directly onto my Vintage Cream card base with Soft Stone ink.  I then added the sentiment directly over that with Charcoal Palette ink.

Stitching
I trimmed down one end of a Strip Stitch die-cut and stitched it in a chevron pattern using a variety of colors of embroidery floss.  The ends were left loose and knoted at the bottom for extra texture.

Down
I love how easy it was to complete this stitching AND that I didn't have any stitching to cover up inside my card!

Pink Thank You Card
I just had to break out the second pattern in Background Basics: Needlepoint and here is a peek at my results!  Note the little Limeade Ice border.  This was created by cutting a long horizonal strip from a Strip Stitch die cut.  I then just whip stitched ench side with white crochet thread.  Just a quick and easy litte accent!

Background
I stamped the background onto Hibiscus Burst cardstock using Berry Sorbet ink.  I love all the detail it adds!

Down
I used the sweet little embroidery hoop again, this time adding it with Orange Zest ink.  The other companion images were added with Berry Sorbet, Hibiscus Burst and Limeade Ice inks.  The sentiment (from Teach & Inspire) was added with Charcoal Palette.

Home Card
The buildable house image in the new Polka Dot Parade #10 is so easy to use, the cards nearly make themselves!  I wanted to stamp on something other than white or cream to ix things up a bit, so I pulled out Fine Linen.  I stamped the house in Ocean Tides, Hibiscus Burst and Simply Charteuse.  I added trees from the City Scene set using Classic Kraft and New Leaf.

Stitching detail

I added a bit of stitching to the lower corner to help carry through the Hibiscus Burst color.
Down
For the sentiment, I stamped "Home" with the Stitched Alphabet set in Classic Kraft.  The companion sentiment, from Polka Dot Parade #10, was added underneath using Dark Chocolate ink.  To keep things a bit more modern looking, you will notice I selected Soft Stone striped paper for the background.

More Than Coffee Card
For my last project today I was anxious to pull out Latte Love and use it with the new coordinating die being released this month.  I cut out Classic Kraft cardstock with it and heat embossed the coordinating image in White Filigree Embossing Powder.

Cups
Note the new alphabet dies used to spell out "coffee".  More to come about those later int he week!  Let's just say they are one of my new favorite things!

Down

I added a few other stamped touches from Latte Love, such as the sentiment and heart and the certified coffee logo in the center of the "O".  Strips of Aqua Mist cardstock help to ground everything on the Melon Berry card base.

I hope you have enjoyed all the creations that I have shared with you today!  And hopefully you're feeling inspired to do a little creating yourself!  What, in particular, caught your eye today?  We would love to hear your initial thoughts on everything we introduced!  Please leave a comment on this post to tell us what you think of the new products and you will be eligible to win big!

LOVE the ‘HOME’ set! I have an absolute passion for all things architecturally ‘home’. (If anyone at Papertrey reads this, you should know that it looks like the die set for this one is $4 on the image of the die, and then in the description after the stamp set, the die is listed as $3.)

I’ve resisted the stitched dies so far, but the possibilities for your new die, seem endless to me. May be time to jump into that end of the pool.
