Autumn for me starts after my birthday in September, when I look forward to the nights drawing in and getting the house all cozy. But my favourite time is when the leaves change colour and we get such beautiful autumn light to show the colours off.
Without a doubt it is the crisp autumn weather! Those cool days are the perfect weather for all kinds of fall activities – like going to the pumpkin patch, football tailgating, apple orchards, knitting, pumpkin spice lattes. My list of fall favorites could go on and on!

I am in São Paulo, Brazil, so I don’t get to see the change in colors of the leaves, which I love, but there is a sense of serenity in the air I can’t explain. Even the sunlight seems more warm, not so bright like in summer. No wonder, the Mighty Oak, my dream tree, is in my list.

I love the smell of Autumn. It brings back all my childhood memories of raking leaves and burying my sisters and brother and now grandsons!!! Hot apple cider and cider doughnuts are favorites also. We usually drive into the Adirondacks for day of leaf peeking and fun. What a life.

Here in Australia, Autumn brings with it the relief of cooler weather after out very hot summers. We do have some deciduous trees here (mostly from the Northern Hemisphere), which sport their beautiful colours in Autumn too.

Autumn is my favorite season, so it is hard to just name one thing about it. As a teacher, I love greeting new students into my classroom, the beginning of a new academic year. Living in Vermont, I love our fall foliage. Amazing colors to the leaves everywhere you look.
I really love everything about fall.. the cooler weather.. the colors.. Hallowen… comfort foods.. marching band (my hubby is a band teacher) :)..playing in the leaves and being able to sleep with the windows open. Its my very favorite season.
The harvest!
I love autumn because it is a delight for the senses. The trees become a bright and happy show for the eyes against clear blue skies. The smell of burning leaves always takes me to a happy place. The sound of dried leaves crunching underfoot is music to my ears and the taste of pumpkin in everything that is imaginable is a treat that feeds my soul!

I like a lot of things about autumn, but first thing coming to my mind is a day without wind (there’s always wind in this part of holland), and kind of a cloudy day. There’s only a few of those days every autumn but when there is a day like that i enjoy it so very much. Leaves turning red, orange, yellow and NO wind. Love those days the most.
Picking apples, pears, plums and preserve them, bake with them, make jam etc. LOVE it!
While I love the rich colors and pulling on a sweater, the slow cooked foods and warm chunky soups are the main things that I look forward to in the fall!
Besides the fact that my youngest son and I have October birthdays, there is just something about Fall that is special and that we look forward to! Maybe it’s the changing colors of the trees, or the “crunch” when walking on the ones that have fallen. Or the scents of the season in “pumpkin-y” and spicy candles and baked treats that make Fall so lovely. I think it is also just the anticipation of the upcoming holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas that make Fall just feel so wonderful! Bring it on!!!
How do you pick just one favorite thing about Autumn? It’s my absolute favorite season! I love the colors of the trees the most, but I also love the cooler temps, the smell of bonfires, the fact that college football is on, and you can always hear the local high school team band on any given Friday night! Seriously, it’s a blissful season!!

I love seeing the Autumn harvest, apples, pumpkins, squash, every kind of imaginable fruit and vegetable piled high on farm stands. It reminds me of how truly blessed we are to have such bounty within our reach.
There’s just a feeling in the air with autumn – it overwhelms your senses – from the soft, cozy sweaters and eye popping leaf colors, to brisk bus stop mornings and warm afternoons picking pumpkins it is amazing!

The kids going back to school…
Without a doubt, my fav is the gorgeous leaves that appear on the huge trees here. Many of us love to visit the Blue Ridge Parkway in the mtns, where the scenes of rolling hills painted with colored leaves are beautiful. (And I can’t leave out the apple stands at the sides of the road!)
I love the more bearable Florida temperatures, and all of the fall home scents that come out… Cinnamon and Pumpkin and spice. Everything seems more cozy in the fall. 🙂

Living in East Tennessee I have to say the changing of the leaves! The mountains are so beautiful with all of those reds, oranges and yellows shining bright!
My favorite thing about Autumnis of course Indian Summer,the fresh days ,the cool cozy evenings,& of course ,the colors,the beauty of nature.and most of all,the fact that my anniversary is in October,the memories of my Fall wedding make It even more special to me.

I love all the activities. Apple picking, Halloween parades, nature walks. Plus the idea of hunkering down for awhile as the nights get cooler is very appealing after the busy summer.
My favorite, is the feel of the fresh, cool breeze blowing on my skin. The crispness is so exhilarating. It always gives me the feeling of freedom, kind of like all the days worries are being whisk away and I’m a kid again.

Living in North Texas, I’d have to say my favorite thing about fall is the change in temperatures, from the 90s and even 100s in August to September, to a sudden drop in temperature when that blessed cold front drops down from Canada.
My favorite thing about autumn is quite simply – the air! There is a feeling of peace & gratitude, mixed in with autumn spices – something that you can’t touch or feel, but you know God’s grace is all around you. THAT is my favorite thing about autumn!!!

My favorite thing about autumn is the changing of the colors – from the soothing and serene greens to the rich and glorious autumn hues. My second favorite thing is the introduction of two cool weather items, hooded sweatshirts with their wonderful pockets and delicious, warm-your-body soups. I’m not ready for a change in seasons yet, though!

There are so many great things that I love about autumn!! My favorite is college football season starts up again! O love tailgating and watching MSU play! I also love how beautiful the leaves get when they start to change colors, leaves are our fall wedding theme 🙂 I also love how it gets cold enough to start wearing nice cozy sweaters, but you don’t have to really bundle up yet. Lastly, I’m getting married on September 27th so my new favorite thing about fall will be being able to celebrate my wedding and anniversary with the love of my life 🙂

I LOVE the changing colors! When young–so LONG ago– my parents took my sisters and I annually on an October weekend camping trip in The Smoky Mountains. I looked forward to being out of school on that Friday, too!
We lived in Pennsylvania for several years and I was always amazed at the change in colors during Fall. To see all those vast mountains turn to rich hues of red, burnt orange and gold is still something so out of the ordinary for me. I look forward to our Fall PA trip every year!

My favorite thing about Autumn.. There are quite a few, but my most favorite is that particular glow that the sun takes on when shining in the late afternoon on a cool crisp day.. Each fall, as school begins, I usually make my “New Year’s Resolutions”. I am able to re-focus after playing with my kids all summer, and set myself new goals and tasks to accomplish (usually involving as much a home-made Christmas as possible!).

I love the changes that autumn brings. In nature and in my life. As a teacher I go back to work, all 3 of my beautiful children have their birthdays in autumn, and of course Thanksgiving. Autumn is my favorite season. I don’t know if I can pick just one thing!!so, here are my top four: I love the cool air, the sound of leaves crunching under my feet, the brilliant colors of leaves in the north east and watching my son play football.
While there is so much to love about Fall (baking, changing leaves, calmness) the cooler temperatures have to be at the top of my list.
The colors of fall are so amazing! I lived in South Florida for a number of years and it was incredible to move north and see those colors again.

My favorite thing(s) about Autumn are the cooler temps…love sleeping with the windows open at night! Hubby and I also like to throw on our sweatshirts, hike through the woods to enjoy the Autumn colors and then come back for a fire and some hot chocolate and s’mores on the patio. We just tend to get outside more in the fall.

The weather, where I live in California it’s not too hot and just cool enough for a sweatshirt or sweater. If you head to the coast the fog is gone!
My favorite part of Autumn is it’s smell. I love the fresh scent of crisp morning air, the cinnamon spice of warm apple cider, and all the smells of the maturing herbs like rosemary and sage. It is my favorite,… no,…it is my fragrant season.

The way things cool down and slow down is a nice break from the hot & humid days of summer. Of course, the cozy warm soups & hot drinks are pretty comforting, as well.

Celebrating our wedding anniversary every year in October with a trip to Traverse City, Michigan. The colors are gorgeous and never disappoint! I love our state, but never more than in the Fall.

I live in south Louisiana where sugarcane is the main crop. At the first sign of fall, the farmers cut the cane and haul it to the local sugarmills. When the mills process the cane (cook), the air is filled with the best smell of raw brown sugar.

Hi there. I live in Michigan and autumn comes swiftly around here. One week it’s summer and all of a sudden it’s cool and there is a crispness in the air that is unmistakable. Even though the temperatures vary, that “feel” of autumn is there. Makes me welcome a warm cozy sweater, a hot drink, soup for lunch, and dragging out every piece of stash that works with orange and brown.
It won’t be long now…
