Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!
For my first card I knew I wanted to recreate the dahlia image using cool blues and purples.
I started by layering a die-cut Cover Plate: Quatrefoil layer is Spring Rain right on top of my Spring Rain card base.
For the flowers, I started with Spring Rain as the first layer, followed by Winter Wisteria stamped off once. The final layer was done with the Winter Wisteria again, only at full strength. The leaves were created with layers of Limeade Ice and Simply Chartreuse.
I die-cut the Boutique Borders: Love frame from white cardstock and stamped it with the coordinating image from the set using Winter Wisteria. The sentiment (from Bountiful Borders) was added with Charcoal Palette ink. To help add emphasis to the sentiment as well as add texture, I tied some white crochet thread around the frame.
The flower centers were finished off with Blueberry Sky buttons and a bit of crochet thread.
I was dying to try out the beautiful dahlias in shades of yellow and here are my results!
The first layer of the flowers was stamped in Harvest Gold, followed by a layer of Summer Sunrise that has been stamped off once. The final layer was done with Summer Sunrise at full strength. I added some small pearls to the flower centers. The leaves were added using Fine Linen, both as is and stamped off for varying intensities.
I added the sentiment, also from Delightful Dahlia Additions, in Dark Chocolate in the lower corner.
A strip of 1/8" silk ribbon was daintily tied around the card front and finished with a bow.
The exterior edge of the card front was swiped with the Tea Dye Duo. I also notched the corners with a 5/8" circle punch. Everything was adhered to a Classic Kraft card base.
My next project uses one of my favorite sets of images from the new Mat Stack 6 Collection stamp set.
I started by stamping the main polka dot portion with Hawaiian Shores onto white cardstock. I then added the leaves in New Leaf and the flowers in Hibiscus Burst. The rectangular frame accent finishes it in Orange Zest. I added the sentiment from Inside & Out: Birthday II (more about this later in the week) with True Black. As a last step, I die-cut the frame out.
I added two striped ribbon accents using First Place and Orange Zest ink.
The white card front was finished with texture from the Picnic Plaid Impression Plate.
My next project is a bit different from my other creations, but I'm thrilled with how it turned out! I just wish you could see it in person!
For the main focal point, I stamped the Mat Stack 6 Collection frame onto Vintage Cream cardstock using Terracotta Tile ink. I added the sentiment (from Meadow Greens, more about this later in the week too!) in Scarlet Jewel ink in the center of the frame. I also added these two decorative brackets from the Mat Stack 6 Collection with Gold Filigree Embossing Powder. As a final step, I die-cut the frame.
For the background, I stamped the solid flowers from Delightful Dahlia Additions using Terracotta Tile and Scarlet Jewel inks directly onto Ocean Tides cardstock. Then I heat embossed the outline image from the original Delightful Dahlia right on top of that. using Gold Filigree Embossing Powder.
The leaves were added with Ocean Tides ink and everything was mounted onto a Terracotta Tile card base.
This super simple card is perfect for showing your support when a loved one is battling breast cancer. I paired the ribbon image from Faith & Hope with the perfectly fitting sentiment from the new Wonderful Words: Together set.
I stamped the ribbon first in Sweet Blush. I then added the "together" using Hibiscus Burst. A T1 Copic marker was the perfect way to add a bit of shadow around the word. The companion sentiment was added with Charcoal Palette ink. I also added lines of stitching using the Sew Simple Borders set. Everything was attached to a Hibiscus Burst card base.
My final project uses a bit of watercoloring, one of my favorite things to do right now. I started by stamping the solid flowers from Delightful Dahlia Additions in Raspberry Fizz onto white cardstock. I then used some ink refills to add some watercoloring over them, adding a bit of Orange Zest to the center as well. I used the paintbrush to splatter some color around the flowers. Once this dried, I heat embossed the line image from the original Delightful Dahlia set using White Filigree Embossing Powder.
I die-cut the Wonderful Words: Together shape from the painted cardstock.
I then wrapped three pieces of white crochet thread around the Orange Zest card base and finished it in a knot on the side. Using foam tape, I adhered the painted card front in place.
I added the companion sentiment on a Raspberry Fizz cardstock strip uysing True Black ink.

I absolutely *LOVE* the Dahlia’s addition set. I’ve always loved the Dahlia set but this completely knocks it out of the ballpark! I would love to see more 3 step stamp sets in the future!!

I’m really liking the addition stamp sets to previously stamp sets with the 2-step stamping option for the flowers. This would be perfect with almost any previously released stamp set, so keep rolling them out. They make life much easier and love the endless color opportunities. Of course, more dies with everything!

The first thing that caught my eye was the bright colors, and the lovely cool blues and purples on the dahlia card. I also liked the way the negative of together was used on the card. I like the look of peeking through the space to see what’s underneath.

I have eyeballed Delightful Dahlias so many times but have always seemed to have other items take priority on my shopping list. Well, no more!!! I adore dahlias and the added detail that this additional set will give puts both the original set and the addition at the tippy top of my wish list.
