New-Product-Details

Based on beautiful folk art that is popular now, Spring Hills contains a simple spring scene of a farmhouse snuggled into the hills, complete with tulips and a ewe grazing with her new lamb.  The house and tree have also been included separately and in a larger scale to allow for more design opportunities.  The fonts used embrace that folk art look and have been combined to create some beautiful expressions perfect for the spring season.

The Details:

  • Spring Hills will be available for purchase on March 15th.
  • It will retail for $15.
  • Spring Hills contains a total of 14 images.  The main spring hills scene measures 1-1/4" x 2-3/4".  The single large farmhouse measures 1-1/4" x 1-1/2".  The single tree measures 1-1/4" x 1-3/8".  The tulip clusters each measure 1/4" x 3/8".  The ewe measures 1/2" x 3/8".  "Happy Spring Birthday" measures 1-1/4" x 7/8".  "Find beauty in each day." measures 1-5/8" x 1/2".  "Wishing you a spring blooming with happiness." measures 1-7/8" x 5/8".  "Wishing you happiness" measures 1-7/8" x 1/2".  "Sending springtime smiles" 1-5/8" x 3/8".

Lexi Daly is bringing you a new set of sentiments for Comfort Food that will carry the set through the comforting and on to celebrating! Many of these new phrases complete the wording that begins on the soup and ice cream for an overall complete sentiment, while also giving new meaning to the original images, including a few standard sayings for your everyday birthday and congratulations cards. I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

The Details:

  • Comfort Food Additions will be available for purchase on March 15th.
  • It will retail for $5.
  • Comfort Food Additions contains a total of 12 images.  The "happy birthday" sentiment measures about 1-1/4" wide and less than a 1/4" tall. The largest sentiment, "let's celebrate" is slightly smaller than 2" wide and about 1/4" tall.

Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!

Blooming Blessings Card
For my first project today I wanted to create a card that just oozed springtime!  I am ready for it to arrive here in Tennessee and I am hoping by creating this it might move along a little faster!

Colored scene
I used Copic markers to color in this idyllic scene.  Green leaves, rolling hills, blooming tulips, an ewe with her baby lamb, what else could you possibly need?

Sheep
I used a 2-way glue pen to apply white flock to the sheep, giving them a bit of fun texture.  Don't you just want to walk up that path and move on in to that farmhouse!  *happy sigh*

Sentiment
I added one of the sentiments from Spring Hills to the bottom of the Aqua Mist card front and heat embossed it with White Filigree Embossing Powder.

Down
I tied a bit of 1/8" Silk Ribbon around the cover to help add visual balance.  Everything was mounted onto a white card base.

Thanks Card
For my next project I paired up Spring Hills with one of the new Quick Stitch Sentiments dies.

House
I die-cut the stitching holes out of Melon Berry cardstock then stamped the house and tree from Spring Hills in Vintage Cream ink.  NOTE: be sure to do any companion stamping BEFORE you take the time to do your stitching.  That way, if you make any flubs while stamping, it's easy to start over and just die-cut a new piece!  Much better than having to do your stitching over!

Side
I did the stitching using the pre-cut holes in no time at all.  I just LOVE the detail and homespun texture this adds to my project!

Down
I die-cut rolling hills from the Limeade Ice pattern pack using the In the Meadow dies.  I think the mix of the two different patterns helps support the homespun look I was going for.

Love Card
Next up, a wedding card!  I think this project has everything you could want in a wedding card. A soft, delicate beauty that isn't too feminine.

Butterflies
I decided to play around with some Perfect Pearls pigment powder here.  I stamped Beautiful Butterflies in VersaMark and brushed on the Perfect Pearls with a soft brush, removing the excess.  It left a pearlescent shine that is just gorgeous; I only wish I could have captured the beauty of it on camera!  I punched out vellum butterflies and adhered them to the center of each butterfly with Scor-tape.  A tiny rhinestone was also added to the centers of each butterfly.

Love closeup
I die-cut the large "Love" using the new Quick Stitch Sentiments die.  I wanted to showcase how amazing these dies can look even if you do not add any stitching.  The detail is just a fabulous design element to work with.

Sentiment
Underneath "Love", I added this sentiment from Beautiful Butterflies, heat embossed with Silver Filigree Embossing Powder.

Down
Everything was mounted onto a white card base using foam tae for dimension.

Scream for Ice Cream Card
After seeing all the amazing "chalkboard" style projects people have been creating, inspired by the amazing Betsy Veldman, I decided to try something similar myself with the new Comfort Food Additions set.

Top
I started by stamping the ice cream container and spoon images from Comfort Food in Fresh Snow ink and smudging it slightly with my finger tips before the ink had a chance to dry.  I die-cut the Headline Alphabet letters from white cardstock and stamped them with the companion stamps in a variety of colors.  They were adhered in place with bits of foam tape.

Bottom
The new Wonderful Words: Birthday die was cut from white cardstock as well and stamped with the companion image in Hibiscus Burst ink.  The new sentiment from Comfort Food Additions was added underneath in Fresh Snow.  I then added some decorative elements from To Me From You (more about this later in the week) in Fresh Snow as well.  All of these were smudged slightly before they dried to give them more of a "chalk" look.

Down
I also smudged some white ink around the edges of the Smokey Shadow card front for an even more realistic look.  This was all mounted to a white card base.

Wish Card
For my last card I really wanted to use this color scheme that I have had on my list of to-do's for a while now.  Ocean Tides & Berry Sorbet.

Flower
I die-cut & stamped the Year of Flowers: Violets onto Berry Sorbet cardstock and stacked them up on top of one another.  The leaves were stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing Powder.

Sentiment
I die-cut "Wish" from the Quick Stitch Sentiments collection and used white crochet thread to stitch along the pre-punched holes.  I love the "clean" look that the crochet thread gives.

Down
I hope you have enjoyed all the creations that I have shared with you today!  Even if you've never stitched before, can you see yourself using the Quick Stitch Sentiment dies to do a little stitching?  Are you excited to add Spring Hills to your collection?  We would love to hear your initial thoughts on everything we introduced!  Please leave a comment on this post to tell us what you think of the new products and you will be eligible to win big!

I’m excited about the new stitching dies. 6 years ago, when I started papercrafting, I was sewing seed beads onto cards, punching all the holes out first with a needle, then going back and sewing the beads on. Talk about LABORIOUS! Now I can try it again and all the holes will be punched out at one time! Sweet!

Who ever came up with the stitched word ties, hit a home run. I predict these will be everywhere in the near future. The holes are just the right size, too. (There’s more of that perfect detail we can’t get enough of.)

I love the ‘Hills’ series, but the spring trees look foreign to me, like willows with the tops upside down. Is this the shape of a tree that grows in the south? I was going to buy all four seasons, but I need to grow fonder of those trees. (Gasp!! Those trees are only the second rendering, since you started this brilliant company, that I would not LOVE to own. What is this world coming to?) 😉

As Dawn McVey would say…”Oh My Stars!” I am so in love with the Quick Stitch dies. I’ve been doing a lot of hand stitching on cards lately and love anything that can make the process faster (a la Sew Easy and dies like these.) The card with the butterflies and the pearls is absolutely stunning! I cannot wait to CASE it and see the beauty in person. I forgot to post yesterday, but I am also beyond thrilled about the dies for the Birds & Blooms set. I’ve been eager to ink it up, but haven’t had time to commit to a “fussy cutting” project like that. Now I won’t have to! Thanks again for being so forward thinking!

And I don’t think I would have purchased a Quick Stitch die set if I hadn’t seen your beautiful samples. The wedding card, with NO stitching, is actually my favorite, and I would use that idea a lot.

It is fun to see a product I have, but use infrequently like Perfect Pearls powder, in a breathtaking way.
