  • A coordinating die will be available for sale separately, retailing for $4.  3-1/4" x 1-1/8"

Irresistibly Ikat is a set that came about after Maile Belles began falling in love with ikat patterns. Ikat is currently popping up in home decor textiles and fabrics of the fashion world. We couldn't be more happy to now bring it to you in stamp form. You're going to love stamping your own designs in your most favorite color combos. Two repeating patterns are include in this set, making it easy to quickly cover a lot of ground when creating a hand stamped background. Also included are two large ikat images, these are perfect for making a statement. Either by stamping a stunning focal point, or if you choose, you could stamp them repeatedly to create yet another unique background. As for the sentiments, the font combo is perfectly irresistible.

  • Irresistibly Ikat will be available for purchase on February 15th.
  • It will retail for $15.
  • Irresistibly Ikat contains a total of 14 images.  The largest Ikat medallion image measures 2 7/8 x 2, the row of 4 open diamonds measures 3 x 7/8, the single open diamonds image measures 6/8 x 7/8 and the "Happy Birthday Sentiment" measures 1 6/8 x 1/2.

Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!

Hello From the Heart Card
For my first project today I have a card that really shows off the new Irresistibly Ikat set.  One of the things I LOVE about the way Maile designed the elements in this set is the "texture" they add.

Background
Once your done stamping your paper, it is almost as if you have transformed it into a piece of fabric!  I chose to go a simple route and use just one element along with a single color, really emphasizing the detail in the pattern building images.  I used Summer Sunrise ink for this.  I have aways loved the way Summer Sunrise looks on Vintage Cream cardstock, such a fresh trendy feel.

Sentiment
I die-cut the new Wonderful Words: Hello die from one of our new self-adhesive cork sheets.  I simply peeled the wax paper backing off and adhered it to my card front.  To follow-up, I trimmed a strip of Aqua Mist cardstock and notched the end with scissors.  I stamped the "From the Heart" companion sentiment from Wonderful Words: Hello in Hawaiian Shores onto the strip.

Down
I added a small heart die-cut from Berry Sorbet cardstock.  The entire piece was mounted onto a Classic Kraft card base.

Hello There Card
My next project is one of my favorites…EVER!  It all started with an image from Irresistibly Ikat that features four dots in a row.

Focal
I stamped the row of dots vertically, using a rainbow of colors and staggering each impression slightly.  Colors used were Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Summer Sunrise, Simply Chartreuse and Hawaiian Shores.  I also used a small single dot to add some additional random accents.  Since I used our dye ink for this, I was able to go back in with a damp watercolor brush and soften the look of each dot.

Hello side
I die-cut the Wonderful Words: Hello die from white cardstock and stamped it with the coordinating image in True Black ink.  This was adhered on top of the rainbow pattern with bits of foam tape.

Down
I added "There" from Wonderful Words: Hello stamp set in True Black ink to the right of the focal point.  The finished block as adhered to a Pure Poppy card base.

My Dear Friend Card
This next project is clean & simple, just the way I like it!

Stitched arrow
I stamped this chevron-style arrow repeatedly in a row using a fun new color scheme that I found inspiration for on Pinterest (you can check out my Color Me Happy board on Pinterest HERE).  Limeade Ice, Harvest Gold, Summer Sunrise, Melon Berry and Sweet Blush.  I used a paper piercer to add holes down the center of the row as well as a few extras at the top and bottom to form an arrow.  I stitched along the holes with white floss.  I love how this accent is subtle, but really adds to much.

Sentiment
The sentiment, also from Irresistibly Ikat, was added with Charcoal Palette ink.

Down
All of this was adhered to a Melon Berry card base.

Hey There Thanks Card
I wanted to go for something bold and bright for my next project and decided to pair up Blueberry Sky and New Leaf.

Background
A little detail I wanted to point out here on the background.  If you compare this background to the one stamped in Summer Sunrise at the top of this post, you will see the shadow effect I created here and how it   achieves a more authentic ikat look.  All I did was stamp each image twice without re-inking, shifting slightly upwards for the second  impression.  I just an't stop singing my praises for this set!  One of the most inspiring sets I've ever used!

Sentiment
For the sentiment strip, I stamped "Thanks" using the new Headline Alphabet, stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with Filigree White Embossing Powder.  I also added the small "Hey There" sentiment from Irresistibly Ikat beside the bolder word.

Notch detail
I added a few stamped chevron arrows beside the sentiment and trimmed the New Leaf strip with a notch, following along with the lines of the arrows.

Down
All of this is mounted onto a Blueberry Sky card base.

Monogram Card
Next, I have a fun monogrammed card that can be customized for any recipient, or even a stack for yourself!

Background
It all begins with Rustic Cream cardstock which was stamped with two different patterns from Irresistibly Ikat in rows.  I used Simply Chartreuse, Royal Velvet, Raspberry Fizz and Lavender Moon.

Monogram
I then die-cut Tag Sale #5 from  Raspberry Fizz cardstock and trimmed the top off.  I added stripes using Background Basics: Super Stripes and VersaMark ink.  I heat embossed the monogram using Zing! Embossing Powder in Leaf.  The center letter is from the new Headline Alphabet and the two smaler letters are from the previously released Fresh Alphabet.

Down
All of this is mounted onto a Smokey Shadow card base.

Celebrate Card
I have one last card for you today, this one focusing on using the new Headline Alphabet stamps with the coordinating dies.  I started with a block of Soft Stone cardstock and stamped it with Dot Spot in VersaMark ink, followed by some heat embossing using White Filigree Embossing Powder.

Letters
I die-cut the letters from white cardstock and stamped them with a rainbow of colors: Aqua Mist. Sweet Blush, Melon Berry, Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise and Berry Sorbet.  The letters were adhered with small bits of foam tape.  The small star used at the bottom of the exclamation point is from the Super Stars Border die.  I colored it with a Gold Spica Pen to add just  a touch of sparkle to my project.

Down
I hope you have enjoyed all the creations that I have shared with you today!  Are you falling for ikat like we are?  Has another new series made it's way onto your wish list?  We would love to hear your initial thoughts on everything we introduced!

I don’t know how you do it – every month! To be honest, Ikat, was one of the sets I scratched off the list – didn’t really care for the sneak peek image. But, now that I see all the amazing projects. I might have to put it back on (I really loved the chevron, dot rows and the open diamond row images).

I, too, am not sold on the Ikat (reminds me of Tie died) but with the samples shown today, I may have to give it another consideration. HOWEVER – the set that Heather has with the large focal word and smaller sayings did catch my eye immediately as did the large alphabet. Love fonts and mixed ones take my breath away! Can’t wait to see what the rest of the release brings!

I am sitting on the fence with the ikat series. Although the DT cards are stunning, I don’t know if I wold get the versatility from this stamp set that I need to justify purchasing it. It is mondern, trendy, hip and retro all at the same time. Might limit the age of the crowd that it appeals to.

I have to honestly say that IF I could only ever have PTI stamp sets, I’m quite sure that I would need few others to satisfy my card making needs. You truly know what’s new/trendy, but also classy/elegant and every other genre in between. You just always know what we need and what goes with it to meet our needs!

I am intrigued by the new word series. I thik that really has postential and could be effective stand-alone (stamp or die) or combined. And I like the finials for the wrought iron. I bought the background set because I loved the intricate scroll work but haven’t really found a way to use them in my card making. With the finials, I can at least use them very literally–as a fence!! Everything is always so nice and a great variety to appeal to almost anyone.

Also Spring Moss is one of my favorite colors and I am happy to see it come in pattern paper.

I’m actually on the fence about the Irresistibly Ikat set but the design team has done an awesome job showcasing it. The Ikat looks a little like batik to me. I’ll look at the reveal before actually deciding. I am however loving Cutting Garden and Heather Nichols and Melissa’s new series.

So many possibilities, and what convinced me was the multiples of a single letter…very helpful when you’re doing several cards with the same words on them! Love the ikat stampset. This is so different than anything I’ve seen before. Can’t wait to see the rest of the set!

I’m very excited about two new series: Heather’s Wonderful Words series and Dawn’s Boutique Borders. I don’t know which one I’m looking forward to more, but I do know that both will regularly be landing in my cart and on my porch.

I really like the new alphabet set. The white line/space down the center of each letter is a nice design element.

to be honest I’m not a big fan of ikat….but perhaps that’s more reason for me to win the set so that I can play with it and “grow” to love it!!!lol
