I would have to say The Vow. It’s a tragic event of a young married couple that got into a car accident, and his wife is so impaired she doesn’t remember her own husband. He tries everything possible to help her remember and to get better, but it ends up splitting them up in the end, only for them to take one step at a time, start dating again, and finally get married all over again.

I have also loved The Notebook, The Time Travelers Wife, and A Walk to Remember

I loved the book “As the Crow Flies” and “missed” the characters once I finished the book. Silly, I know, but I really can get attached to the characters and that makes a good read for me. It was a love story that spanned 70 years and it really was just wonderful.

Now I need to make a list of all of the things I plan to order so I can get that amazing free set!

At the beginning she has a schoolgirl crush on the William Holden character but she falls in love with Humphrey Bogart. It’s just a great movie – funny, romantic.. I’ve watched it a million times. I’ll throw in one more movie just cos I can’t help myself LOL – An Affair to Remember with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr – the original “meet you at the top of the Empire State Building”… at the end, when he finds out she had her accident and that’s what kept her from meeting him… ahhhhhhh wonderful!

Stand alone book – Pride and Prejudice. What’s more fun than two very flawed but wonderful people overcoming extremely dysfunctional families with some sharp wit? Movie – yikes. Beauty and the Beast? The Quiet Man? Roman Holiday? Notorious? I just can’t choose.

Classic (Golden Age Hollywood): it’s a toss up between “It’s A Wonderful Life” (Jimmy Steward and Donna Reed) and “Random Harvest” (Ronald Coleman and Greer Garson).

I remember my dad took me to the movies when I was just 10 years old. I was really too young to watch a love story, but he took me to the movie because it had been filmed on Mackinaw Island, only an hour from where we lived. I’d been to Mackinaw Island several times and was quite familiar with the sight of bikes and horse-drawn buggies at every turn. For cars are not allowed on Mackinaw island. The one exception in the history of Mackinaw Island was for the filming of this movie. Somewhere in Time was my first love story movie and still remains a favorite. I remember thinking that Jane Seymour was the prettiest lady I had ever seen and wondered why Superman was in this Love Story. haha! The soundtrack is filled with lovely music, as I am especially fond of the title track. I recommend this movie to anyone who’s not had the pleasure to see it.

I just loved the movie rendition of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. I can remember myself as a young girl wondering what kind of man I would marry. The characters don’t fall in love the traditional way. The man is a man of honor and does things to protect the woman and her family that did not benefit himself, even though she still thought ill of him. They fell in love with the true character and nature of each other, even in a time where marriage secured your status in society. True love. Sigh. The Vow is a very close second!

“Out of Africa” is my favorite love story movie. Such unconditional love, no demands, just loving for the moments together. It’s a love story for Africa, her people, and wildness too. And one can never go wrong with Robert Redford and Meryl Streep!

    LOVE this release too!

Sleepless in seattle is an old favourite too, I love the echoes back to the old Hollywood movie too. Goodness I could go on – I love a good love story – mind you I’ll end up in tears whether it has a happy or sad ending 😉
