Imagine the sense of peace you get walking through a meadow or your favorite abandoned country road…

or a field of wildflowers waving hello in a gentle summer breeze.  That's what Lisa Johnson's newest set, Peaceful Garden is all about.

Lisa's headshot
Lisa Johnson has successfully captured the natural beauty that surrounds us in her beautifully illustrated stamp set, Peaceful Garden.

Peaceful-Garden-die

Peaceful Garden is a collection of natural images that leans more towards foliage & grasses rather than the traditional floral sets that we have introduced in the past.  Containing bamboo, ferns, grasses, wheat and more , you will be able to build your very own peaceful scenery.  The script font she selected for the sentiments is a perfect fit as well.

The details.

  • Peaceful Garden will be available for sale on July 15th.
  • It will retail for $15.
  • Peaceful Garden contains a total of 15 images (1 grass stalk, 1 grass strip, 1 bamboo grouping, 1 fern, 1 wheat grouping, 1 sprig grouping, 1 single sprig and 8 sentiments)
  • A coordinating die will also be available, retailing for $6.  It will cut shapes to coordinate with the bamboo, fern and sprig grouping.
  • The bamboo image measures 3-1/4" x 1-1/2".  The grass strip measures 1-3/4" wide x 1-1/4" tall.  The fern measures 1-1/2" x 7/8".

Maile Belles also has a new set for this month based on all things green, however hers has a modern twist that is adaptable for so many design options!

Maile's headshot
It's main intent is for background building, but there is really so much more to it than that!

Leafy-Vine-Border-die
Background Basics: Vines contains an outlined vine, a solid line and a reverse vine strip, all interchangeable with the ability to layer them or use them separately.  Paired with the coordinating die that Maile designed, there really are just an unlimited number of options at your disposal!

The details.

  • Background Basics: Vines will be available for purchase on July 15th.
  • It will retail for $15.
  • Background Basics: Vines contains a total of 3 images (1 solid vine border, 1 outlined vine border an one reverse vine border).  Each of the borders measures 4-5/8" long and 3/4" wide.
  • The coordinating Leafy Vine Border die will be available for sale separately for $6.  It measures 8-3/4" x 3/4".

Now, let's get onto some fun projects using these two new sets!

Treasured Friends Card
I thought I would start out with an elegant take on Peaceful Garden.  I decided to pair it up with gold embossing powder to get the look of gold leaf.

Background
I stamped the fern image repeatedly all over the Hawaiian Shores cardstock with VersaMark ink and then heat set the embossing powder.  I love the way the gold color looks when paired with the Hawaiian Shores.  Soooo pretty!

Sentiment closeup
I thought this sentiment from Half & Half (more about this set later on in the week) was perfect for this card not only because of the fonts it uses, but also because of the word "treasures" that it contains.  The sentiment was stamped on a piece of Ripe Avocado cardstock that was die-cut with one of the Half & Half dies.  A flourished bracket (also from Half & Half) was added at the point of the decorative strip.  Alll of which was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with Filagree Gold Embossing Powder.

Down
Not only do I love this color combo (Hawaiian Shores, Aqua Mist & Ripe Avocado), but I am also falling back in love with my metallic embossing powders as well!

Trio upright
This set of cards takes us back to nature with it's soft color scheme and flying creatures.  I thought that Peaceful Garden was the perfect thing to pair with last month's set, Happy Trails.  Each of them combines Ocean Tides & Ripe Avocado, one of my all time favorite color combos.

Dragonfly card

Dragonfly closeup
This particular card uses the fern image from Peaceful Garden and the dragonfly from Happy Trails.

Butterfly card

Butterfly closeup
And this one uses the sprig image from Peaceful Garden and the butterfly from Happy Trails.

Bird card

Bird closeup
And last but certainly not least, this one uses the bamboo image from Peaceful Garden and the bird from Happy Trails.

Trio down
I used my fingernail to rough up the edges of my focal points a bit.  All three cards feature a sentiment from Simple Sentiments using Smokey Shadow ink.  I love this little collection!  I think it would make a wonderful gift for someone!

Engagement Card
Sometimes I need to remind myself that it's okay to stamp colors onto colored cardstock.  I often depend on my neutrals way to much, so I decided to step out of my box for this project.

Focal closeup
I stamped the bamboo from Peaceful Garden with Smokey Shadow ink onto Harvest Gold cardstock.  I then added the flowers (from Daydreamer) in Hawaiian Shores.  The "Congrats" is from Congrats All Ways and it is stamped in True Black.

Rhinestones closeup
I added a small trio of black rhinestones to accent the end of the sentiment.

Edge sentiment
The companion sentiment was added to a strip of Hawaiian Shores cardstock at the back edge of the card.  This is a great ay to utilize the pieces from Congrats All Ways.

Down
The front cover was cut a shorter than the back cover, allowing for this fun layered look when it's closed.  I will definitely be stamping on Harvest Gold cardstock with Hawaiian Shores more often!

Lavender Fields Card
this card reminds me of fields of lavender…

Butterfly
I stamped the grass strip from Peaceful Garden along the bottom of the Mat Stack 5 shape using Ripe Avocado ink.  I then stamped the single sprig with Plum Pudding at the top and Ripe Avocado at the bottom.  I made two impressions with each inking, giving me the softened layered effect.  The thank you sentiment is from Peaceful Garden as well and it was added in True Black.  I underlined the sentiment with a black pen & ruler.

Notch
I notched the sides of my card base with a 3/4" square punch and gathered several strands of embroidery floss around it.

Notch knot
The other end of the card is notched as well and this is where I knotted the floss.

Down
I added Polka Dot Basics II to a portion of the card front, stamping them with Vintage Cream ink.

Hello Friend Card
Now we are going to step away from the garden and delve into things a bit more modern.  I'm loving the color scheme on this card of Terracotta Tiles, Spring Moss, Ocean Tides & Ripe Avocado.

Flowers closeup
I heat embossed the outlined vines from BB: Vines with White Filigree Embossing Powder as well as the outlined flowers from Flower Fusion #6.  I then carefully colored the leaves and flowers with my Copics.  I stitched all of the coordinating buttons into place.

Sentiment
I die-cut Jar Labels 2 from white cardstock and then added the frame & sentiment from Little Labels (another new set for this month.

Down
I adhered the sentiment in place over a strip of Ocean Tides Twill tape.

Love Forever Card
This amazing Love You card utilizes the STUNNING Leafy Vine Border die.  The detail is amazing and so pleasing to the eye!  And I love how the die gives me options to recreate the motif, no matter what colors I want to layer on top of each other!

Sentiment closeup
I made my own little frame with circle punches and Enchanted Evening cardstock.  The frame was stamped with Polka Dot Basics II with VersaMark ink.  The sentiment (from Little Labels) was stamped in True Black, with the tiny heart detail cut out and added from Raspberry Fizz cardstock.

Borders
The Leafy Vine Borders were cut from Enchanted Evening cardstock.  I love how this blue pairs up with Raspberry Fizz, don't you?!?!?

Down
A very simple card that could have the sentiment swapped out for nearly anything!

Thanks Card
I have one last project to share with you today.  It pairs together Think Big Favorites # 6 & Background Basics: Vines, a perfect match!

Cutting strips
I stamped the reverse border from Background Basics: Vines in Orange Zest, Sumer Sunrise, Hibiscus Burst and Sweet Blush.  I then cut the block of images into narrow strips.  This is a quick way to mass produce lots of cards!

Rhinestones
I added rhinestones to represent each of the colors.  I had some to match the Sweet Blush already, but raided my Copic stash to coordinate the rest.

Focal closeup
I hope you enjoyed all of the projects I shared with you today.  These two sets offer such amazing creative opportunities, you will be just thrilled to work with them once they become part of your collection!  What are your thoughts about both of today's sets?  Do you have any project ideas in mind already?  We would love to hear what you think!  You could have a chance at winning this amazing prize package just for sharing your comments with us!

Love everything with nature. I am thinking that the dies are beginning to be a bit too much … seems the releases are more dies than stamps 🙂 But that is just me – someone could have another view on this 🙂 And afterall – we are free to buy what we want, and there should be something for all … just …. really many dies!
