Introducing Gracious Vases and Rhythm & Soul

June 10, 2011      Nichole Heady      678 Comments

Today is an exciting day!  We are embarking on the June release festivities today and I couldn't possibly be more excited about what we have to share with you over the next five days!

Maile's headshot
The first set I am going tointroduce to you today is a little something by Maile Belles.  Gracious Vases is as versatile as it is beautiful!  Featuring both solid and outlined vase images in a variety of shapes & sizes as well as several different florals to fill them with.  With endless combinations and mixing & matching opportunities, this set will never grow old!

The details.

  • Gracious Vases will be available for sale on June 15th.a
  • It will retail for $15.
  • Gracious Vases contains a total of 30 stamps (4 solid vases, 4 outlined vases, 4 floral vase fillers and 18 sentiments)
  • The tallest vase measures 7/8" tall and the shortest vase measures 3/8" tall.

Lizzie
The second stamp set I have to introduct to you today is a little number by Lizzie Jones.  She won our Guest Stamp Designer contest during our February Release festivities earlier this year.  We were extraordinarily lucky because it just so happens that Lizzie had the technical skills to illustrate the set 100% solo and we were amazed with her results!  Lizzie chose to do a music themed set entitled Rhythm & Soul.  She selected this theme music is something that is important to her and speaks to her soul.  The simple, clean illustration style she pocesses shines through in this set and allows it to be applicable to nearly any stamping style.

The details.

  • Rhythm & Soul will be available for sale on June 15th.
  • It will retail for $24.
  • Rhythm & Soul contains a total of 18 stamps (1 violin, 1 guitar, 1 snare drum, 1 banjo, 1 grand piano, 3 music symbols/notes and 10 sentiments)
  • The guitar measures 3-3/8" x 1-3/8", the violin 1" x 2-3/4", the piano 2-1/8" x 2", the banjo 1-1/4" x 3-3/8", snare drum 1-1/4" x 2".

Dawn's headshot
Dawn McVey also has some contributions to this month's release.  I thought this was the perfect time to introduce two of them.  One of Dawn's very first stamp sets was Damask Designs and it has been abest seller ever since.  She has revisited this popular patterns and created some coordinating products to go along with it!

Damask-Designs-impression
The Damask Designs Impression Plate uses one of the mosy popular motifs from the stamp set in a repeating fashion that will leave behind a beautifully elegant impression on all your favorite colors of cardstock.  One side features a horizontal orientation and the reverse features a vertical oreientation of the same pattern.  I just LOVE having the two options so that this pattern will work with any card.

The details.

  • The Damask Designs Impression Plate will be available for sale on June 15th.
  • It will retail for $16.
  • The Damask Designs Impression Plate measures 4-1/2" x 5-3/4" with one side featuring a horizontal pattern and the reverse side a vertical pattern.

Damask-Designs-front-cover
Not only did Dawn design the amazing Impression Plate, she also designed a beautiful collection of patterned paper.  The Damask Design Paper Pad contains a variety of patterns created with the same images found in the original stamp set.  The tone-on-tone patterns are subtle and elegant and with the variety of colors, you'll always be able to find something to coordinate with your project.

The details.

  • The Damask Designs Paper Pad will be available for sale on June 15th.
  • It will retail for $8.
  • The Damask Designs Paper Pad contains a total of 36 sheets, six (8×8) sheets each of 6 patterns.
  • It coordinates with Lemon Tart & Harvest Gold, Terracotta Tile, Raspberry Fizz & Pure Poppy, Hawaiian Shores, Royal Velvet and Ripe Avocado

Now that I have gone over all the details, let's get onto the projects!

Color My World Card
First up, a project using Gracious Vases…in all the colors of the rainbow!  I wanted to show how well the vases can stand out on their own without a lot of fillers.

Closeup
I stamped all of the outlined vase images in a row using Noir Palette ink, then colored them in with Copics.  I used the Pure Poppy, Orange Zest, Ripe Avocado, Ocean Tides & Enchanted Evening Copic Trios.  I added the sentiment and the single filler after the coloring was completed.

Down
The sentiment is from a new set that will be debuting a little later this week, and it just so happened to pair perfectly with my images.  The background of my card was impressed with the Sunshine Impression Plate.  White on white is just so darn sharp!

Blessing Card
Now for something in a more subdued color scheme… pale Lemon Tart with pops of lime green!

Impression plate

I used the new Damask Designs impression on this project.  LOVE this!  The pattern is just lovely and it is fantastic to be able to use it for both horizontal and vertical projects.

Closeup
For my card front, I stamped some floral images from a new set that I will provide details about tomorrow!  They were added in with Lemon Tart ink and allowed to dry thoroughly before adding the vases on top of them using Smokey Shadow ink.  A single filler was added to the center vase.  I used a glue pen to add some lime green glitter to the buds.

Down
After adding the sentiment in True Black, I used 1/8" Scor-tape to add a border on two sides of my project and sprinkled it with glitter as well.

Gracious Hostess Card
This project is the perfect little something to give to a hostess who has exceeded your expectations.

Closeup
I stamped the large frame from Framed in Smokey Shadow ink and then added the two vases in Raspberry Fizz and Orange Zest.  The orchid stem was added to the largest vase with Simply Chartreuse. I used a 2-way glue pen to apply glitter just inside all of it's petals.  The sentiment was added in True Black.

Paper
This particular paper from the Damask Designs pad is one of my absolute favorites, mixing Raspberry Fizz & Pure Poppy together.   Love this!

Down
To help carry through my color scheme, I added a small stripe of Orange Zest cardstock to the patterned paper strip and mounted the whole project on Simply Chartreuse cardstock.  Sp bright and cheerful!

Birthday Branch Card
Here's a more earthy project for those that might perhaps shy away from bright colors.

Focal closeup
I dug Out on a Limb out from my stamp collection and did a little selective inking at the end of the branch and the overly to make it look like it was coming out of the vase.  The vase was stamped in Dark Chocolate, the branch in VersaMark, the flowers in Pure Poppy and the leaves in Ripe Avocado.  After that was completed, I added some stamped medallions (from another set to be announced later this week) with VersaMark around the bottom portion of the base and added the sentiment in True Black.

Down
A strip of vintage book print, Ripe Avocado Damask Designs paper and cardstock stamped with the medallion in Pure Poppy flank the side of the card.

Just a Note Card
Now for a few projects using Rhythm and Soul!  This first piece uses a little of everything to create a collage!  All of the instruments were stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing Powder on Simply Chartreuse cardstock.

Sentiment closeup
In the upper corner I added a "just a note" sentiment from Take Note stamped & embossed on Smokey Shadow cardstock.

Bottom border
I then added a strip created the same way using Around & About Sentiments, at the bottom of the card front.

Down
I love how this turned out and can think of dozens of situations where it would so appropriate!

Note of Thanks Card
Next, a little project that would work perfectly for a music teacher, but is neutral enough for everyday use as well because of the sentiment!

Violin closeup
I stamped the violin on Stamper's Select cardstock and colored it with Terracotta Tile & Dark Chcolate Copic Trios.  I then trimmed it out.

Sentiment
The sentiment was added (from a new set not yet announced) and heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing Powder.  Background Basics: Sheet Music was added underneath it using True Black ink.

Down
A bit of old book print and our True Black Twill Tape were added to the side of the card for balance.

Dude You Rock Card
This project is a bit more artistic and free-flowing, but fun at the same time.

Paint
I swiped some white acrylic paint onto Kraft cardstock and allowed it to dry.

Rhinestones
I then stamped the guitar & sentiment onto it and added these three lines underneath it, reminiscent of sheet music.  Three red rhinestones flank the end of it.

Down
I stamped a bit of Background Basics: Sheet Music along the edge of the card cover and then adhered the whole thing to my Smokey Shadow card base.

Music Speaks Card
I have one more card to share with you today.  This one uses a variety of the musical instruments along with one of my favorite sentiments of all time!

Violin closeup
Each of the instruments were stamped on their blocks using Fresh Snow ink, then followed with Background Basics: Sheet Music in VersaMark.

Sentiment
I stamped the largest image from Fancy Flourishes along the edge of the card front with Smokey Shadow ink, followed by the sentiment in True Black.

Down
I hope you enjoyed everything that I have created for you today.  As you can see, all of these products can be easily combined to create beautiful, meaningful projects!  What product in particular caught your eye?  Which of these new release products has you excited to use it and you are already envisioning what you will create with it?  We would love to hear from you!  Just for taking the time to share your thoughts today, you could have a chance to win an amazing prize package!

I especially like the way you used them on the “Happy Birthday card”, Lizzie’s musical set is made of classic images too. I’m looking forward to seeing the whole thing, including sentiments, on release night. I can see myself using this set for cards and to make little gift tags. Are there dies for the instruments?
