Welcome, welcome, welcome everyone, to the fifth day of our 4th Anniversary Festivities! I have several announcements to make today that I know you are just going to love!
First, a new product and a free download along with a challenge to get you INKY!
Do you remember THIS POST I did a while back in conjunction with our July 2009 Newsletter? It showed you how to make your own Color Flip Book, which has been an invaluable tool for me with my paper crating! It essentially holds a "page" for each color of cardstock, with the page being divided into thirds. With all of the colros stacked on top of one another in the book, you can mix and match the swatches just by flipping the different sections to your desired colors.
I designed the original version for myself because I found myself always pulling out entire sheets of cardstock to pair up colors, then having to put back what I didn't use. And my swatch ring I had created for myself previously made it difficult to pair colors from the front end of the stack vs. the back end. Essentially, it just created an easy way for me to establish my color scheme before I begin working on a project.
After that project went live, we had dozens of requests for us to sell something like it…something that could be updated easily as new colors were added to our collection. After much research, sourcing and testing, the official Papertrey Color Swatch Flip Book is HERE!
The details.
- The Papertrey Color Flip Book Binder and the Color Flip Book Insert Collection will be available for purchase on February 15th.
- The Papertrey Color Flip Book Binder alone will be $9.
- The Color Flip Book Insert Collection (sold separately from the binder) will be $10.
- The Papertrey Color Flip Book Binder measures 7 1/2" x 9". This is being made available for sale separately so for those of you who prefer to cut your own cardstock swatch pages may do so, but still have the convenience of having an official storage system.
- The Color Flip Book Insert Collection will include cardstock swatch pages for all of our current colors, as well as the new color coming out this month. It will also include the color index sheet.
- A new set of cardstock swatch pages & updated index sheet will be made available for sale every February.
The Papertrey Color Swatch Flip Book is the same size and finish as the Color Couture binder, making them visually appealing when setting on your tabletop together. Both the cover and spine are screen printed with a simply designed label to identify it.
There is a Color Index page included that can be kept at the front of the book to help newbies identify the colors.
As you can see, just like my original, each cardstock colors page is divided into three sections…
allowing you to mix things up and try out new color schemes very easily!
As a fun special feature for the new Color Swatch Binder, we will be making special FREE downloadable pages available that you can add to your binder. I'll probably be surprising you with these pages at least once a month! They will contain some of the design team members favorite color combinations that you can refer to whenever you are in a color rut!

For my color scheme, I turned to an favorite project of mine from last year…something I created back in May (you can see the original post HERE).
There are two ways to be entered into today's contest where one randomly selected winner will be chosen. You can do one or the other for a chance to win, or do both to double your chances!
Today we are issuing a special color challenge. Each of our talented Design Team members selected their favorite Papertrey color scheme to work with above. Your challenge is to pick one (or two, or three or ALL of them!) to work with.

- Upload a photo of your project to you blog, online gallery or on any other photo-hosting site (such as photobucket or flickr). If using a blog, feel free to add the appropriate color palette graphic from above to the top of your post.

Here's a few of the details…

For me anything with your kraft can’t go wrong or raspberry fizz are my favorite mixes. So much fun going about can’t wait see what the rest of the reveals showcase.
I would have to say that my favorite color combination is Hawaiian Shores, Raspberry Fizz and Enchanted Evening. I think the three look really nice together. Some times I also add in plum pudding! Very bright, and fun colors
I love Poppy, Aqua Mist, Black, and White – with maybe a little Raspberry Fizz thrown in.
for fall i loved the harvest gold, simply chartreuse, chocolate & kraft. otherwise, anything w/ sweet blush as pink is my favorite color.
I’m in love with Ripe Avocado, Aqua Mist, Dark Chocolate, Kraft and White together. It’s fresh and great for cards for either gender!
I’m partial to the pinks and greens…Ripe Avocado and Raspberry Fizz were the colors of the very first card I had published..and it remains near and dear to my heart to this day.
The Colour Swatch Book looks wonderful and my favourite colour is kraft; just about any colour goes with that. But I am rather partial to kraft, melon berry, and vintage cream. Loving all the anniversary celebrations so far

Wow-what exciting news! I think even though I like all the color combos shown, I am always drawn to the colors Becky Veldman uses most. The Scarlet Jewel is always beautiful and I might add Kraft to the mix for pure perfection!

My favorite combination is Hibiscus Burst, Sweet Blush, Ripe Avocado and Spring Moss. I’m looking forward to the reveal of the new color. I’m sure it will be gorgeous, like the rest of the PTI colors.

WOW is all I can say with all your wonderful announcements – can’t wait to see the new sets and paper colors to come – I can’t say that I have a favorite combination per say – so many strike my fancy at different times though out the seasons – I am partial to peachy apricot colors and olive greens – I LOVE the new swatch book – it will be nice to have all the colors in one place to move them around and play with color combinations – you never know what you could come up with! The rewards program sounds exciting to be able to build up points to buy what you want..thanks for all your inspiration and generosity!
I’m on a neutrals kick, so right now I’m loving Fine Linen, Kraft, and Aqua Mist. I need a little color infusion after a cold & white winter, so I’ll be downloading the color combos for inspiration!

I have the spring button mix and think it is the most delicate and lovely combination ever. In particular the sweet blush, lemon tart and melon berry are favorites. When I have a baby girl I think I am even going to do her nursery in this scheme, that’s how much I love it!

The color swatch book is great and will be so helpful. One of my favorite combinations is Ripe Avacado, Spring Moss, Raspberry Fizz, Black and Cream.
My all time favorite color scheme is brown and aqua and then any other accent color mixed in. I also love Aqua or Hawaiian Shores with Pure Poppy! So pretty! So thrilled about the new rewards program! I am feeling “saturated” on stamps from a long history of stamp “hoarding” and have loved adding new dies, paper and ribbon to keep my stash feeling “new”. And with a remodel on my house (I sent you a note on your cedar ridge site commenting on how eerie and yet exhilarating it was that we’d picked many of the same elements in our home design) my budget for hobby has been severely restricted by the husband! Anyhow, so thrilled that I will really be able to purchase all of things I’m desiring to add, and to know that they will qualify toward the annual celebration set. I’m so bummed to have missed receiving one this year falling short of the required sets – but I am loving the new remodel on my house so I suppose it was worth the sacrafice (barely!). I love Aqua Mist with Black and White Winter or trade out the Black for Kraft. I used the first combination on my daughter’s confirmation party invitations and thank-you notes severalyears ago with the first butterfly set. I have been a customer since the first set was offered, but the butterflies really sold me. Her invites were beautiful. I still love looking at the sample I saved. Love all the new things announced so far this week. Can’t wait to see what you have in store for this new year.

My favourite combination is made up of kraft, white, dark chocolate, and pure poppy.
One of my favorite Papertrey Ink colors is Hawaiian Shores, so naturally my favorite color combination would be the one that has that color in it. I love the Raspberry Fizz, Pure Poppy, Hawaiian Shores, Dark Chocolate and Kraft. I really like all these colors and I’ve been on a Kraft kick lately, so it all works. Love this combo. I do like most of the combos but the Sweet Blush, Vintage Cream, Hibiscus Burst, Spring Moss, and Ripe Avocado has my heart.
I don’t think I have one favorite PTI color combination. I love trying to come up with new ones. But I have to say I’m partial to Summer Sunrise, Ripe Avocado and Raspberry Fizz.

I don’t have 1 favorite color combination. My favorite colors depend on my mood and the weather. But – I do have 2 favorite colors + a neutral which I use more than other colors. That is Kraft, Sweet Blush and Plum pudding.
All your colors are delicious but I’m constantly drawn to Ocean Tides, Spring Moss, Kraft & Dark Chocolate. The color flip book is a fantastic idea. One of my favourite go-to colour combos for PTI is ocean tides, rustic cream, spring moss and kraft. It is such a calming, natural, unisex combo.
I tend to stay in my comfort zone when it comes to color schemes. But this new binder will help change that. My favorite color scheme is hibiscus burst, sweet blush, ripe avocado and spring moss. Soft and subtle.

Wowee!!! I guess the theme for the month is ‘go big or go home’. These are incredible prizes!!! Tonight I created an 8×8 layout using raspberry fizz and hibiscus burst — I couldn’t be happier with the end result.

I think the aqua mist goes with just about everything In any season. I thought I was going to do every card in Kraft, but then fine linen came out and now that is the go to base color.

Well all I can say is you sure know how to pack a post full of wonderful announcements! First off – favorite color scheme – I love Erin’s combo of Ripe Avocado, Ocean Tides, Vintage Cream and Dark Chocolate. I have a hubby and two sons – and that combo looks like it would make some great masculine looking cards. I also have a lovely daughter-in-law – so also appreciate all the brighter (and pink) color combos to use for her. Color Flip Book – hooray! I have little circle punch outs of all the PTI colors, but I love the idea of being able to flip and see different color combos in action with one another. What a great idea! I’m gravitating toward several, but the first two in particular: 1) Scarlet Jewel, Hibiscus Burst, Harvest Gold, Rustic Cream – this combo is unique, and not one I would think of one my own so I love it! 2) Melon Berry, Terracotta Tile, Kraft & Dark Chocolate – something about this one is so instantly pleasing, bold yet soft, modern yet not too “in your face”. I LOVE color! Boy would I lose my craftin’ mind if I won all these gorgeous COLORS!! 🙂

it just look like color swatches for me. although colored paper appears kind a different from digital color because of the texture of the paper.

The flip book is a great way to experiment with colour. I would dearly love to experiment with colour but sadly I have no PTI colours to play with. This prize would definitely help a girl out .

What a fun post! I love the new customer rewards program. It gives so much flexibility. On to the color combo. I have to say that I love to use sweet blush and aqua mist with dark chocolate and/or vintage cream. The swatch book looks like it will be a valuable tool for me. I tend to get stuck in color ruts and this looks like it will pull me out!
I really love the “oldest” colors of Spring Moss, Aqua Mist with Kraft, mixed with White or Dark Chocolate. I also love combining the various shades of pinks/reds/orange/yellows for sunny, summer cards.

Color Swatch book….genius! I also pull out many different sheet of paper when making a card to decide the color combo, so this will make card making so much easier. It is hard to pick a favorite PTI color, but I seem to always pull out aqua mist, kraft, and hawaiian shores. I do love those colors!

All of today’s projects are stunning !! But I have to say the combination of Melon Berry, Terracotta Tile, Kraft and Dark Chocolate is my favorite. Kraft has always been my favorite anyway and Melon Berry is second…. I run out a lot. How cheery it would be to get all this color in the mail at once!

There are so many to choose from! I enjoy using Kraft cardstock .. I had nevery really been a fan or used it much until I started following PaperTrey and enjoying Heather Nichols creations. I then like to use whites, linene and any pop of color like melon berry , scarlet jewel depending on the seasons.

My favorite color scheme is Aqua Mist and Sweet Blush. Those 2 colors together are so soft, elegant, romantic and sweet. I may have to add Harvest Gold and Simply Chartreuse after seeing Michelle’s favorites.
This just keeps getting better and better! I love the swatch book-very genius!! I haven’t used any PTI papers except white and Kraft but would love to try all the colors. The customer rewards program is a wonderful incentive, especially for those of us on limited scrap budgets. There are so many great combos but one I recently used and fell in love with is oceans tide, scarlett jewel, new leaf and white together!

I love Fine Linen, Stone, and Kraft with just about any of the colors in the PTI line. But my favorites right now are Raspberry Fizz, Blueberry and Ripe Avocado. Lots of fun announcements for the coming year, very excited to see it all come around. Love the new color binder!

A favorite color combo? Impossible!! It all depends upon my mood. Earth tones are a great standby but sometimes I lean toward some “pop” with bright colors, or a peaceful quiet with pastels. I love playing with color!

I was so excited, I forgot to post my favorite color combo!!! I love dark chocolate with either a baby blue or a combo of red, cream and salmon. I just saw a new fabric line coming out by Amanda Murphy that I LOVE that has these colors. The best part is it is called Swiss Chocolate. What girl wouldn’t love that!!!!

My favorite color combination is soft pink and aqua. I am a huge fan of anything vintage and/or shabby chic so I gravitate toward using those colors when I create my cards. The only problem with this is when I make a card for any of my five brothers – then I have to switch to a more masculine color combo!
Love all the new stuff, especially the swatch book and rewards program. I love Hibiscus Burst and Spring Moss.
It’s hard to name a favorite – depends on the day and card. One day I’m into those beautiful neutral colors and then I see a post with COLOR and that’s the one for that day. The Color Flip Book is such a wonderful tool to have. Can’t wait to get mine ordered.
Epic proportions doesn’t even describe the excitement level inside of me. Every new prize announcement spawns a new fantasy… “Oh, if I won this one…” 🙂 My daughter looked through my cardstock to help her choose colors for her upcoming wedding, so I’ll pick her colors as my current faves: plum pudding, lavender moon, summer sunrise, harvest gold, and orange zest. I wasn’t sure about them at first, but they’re definitely growing on me!
Anything with a blue and/or kraft…I do love all the ideas for combining colors though, I, too need some inspiration after this long winter!

I don’t really have a favourite colour combination but I love how PTI puts together colours that I normally wouldn’t as I’m not vary adventurous with the mixing and matching.

Love the new swatch book and the rewards system is great…I have so many color combinations that I love….love dark chocolate, sweet blush and kraft, as well as many others…anxiously awaiting the new color! This is so exciting!
I love the way all the colors work together. It is hard to choose! I would probably choose the avocado, ocean tides and chocolate to work with, because I love blue,green and brown together.
I absolutely love the raspberry fizz with true black and white!

My favorite color combo is Raspberry fizz, white, and black. Bright and eye-catching. I’m also partial to Hawaiian Shores & Raspberry Fizz.
I also have my own swatch ring booklet, but the new swatch book looks so much better! It’s so much fun to read the color combos that everyone is posting that they like – I’m going to have to jot them down! Right now I seem to be on a Kraft kick so love paring it up with any of the delicious PTI colors.

All of the color combos are fabulous.. but my fav is Michelle’s. Pink and green are my favorite colors to begin with, and I just love the springy combination with the blue and yellow!
There are SO many color combinations to choose from, but one I find myself going to many times is Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, Vintage Cream and Dark Chocolate. I think it reminds me of a yummy birthday cake my mother made me when I was a child.
My favorite color combo is just about any one of your beautiful colors paired with kraft. But if I must pick, it will be pure poppy, kraft and vintage cream, yummy! Oh, and we can also throw in a little dark chocolate!
There are so many great PTI color combinations, one just can’t go wrong! One of my favorites right now is Smokey Shadow, Hawaiian Shores, Simply Chartreuse, & Fine Linen. The swatch book is a great new product!!

I like Melissa Phillips combination. The two pinks with the two greens looks so pretty, a gorgeous combination for spring.
I especially love the neutrals (craft, linen, dove, etc.) sparked with something surprising but not jolting (lavender, green, etc.). It’s soothing, but a little perky too.

I love Kraft paper and have grown very fond of Rustic Cream. These always make a beautiful base for any card or scrapbook layout. My favorite combo would be Rustic Cream, sweet blush, pure poppy and spring rain. I adore this color combo!
