Introducing Mat Stack 3 Collection and Inside & Out: Birthday

January 12, 2011      Nichole Heady      836 Comments

This may be the second post for today, but it is definitely not short on excitement!

First, the next in our Mat Stack stamp series.  You asked for entire stamp sets dedicated to our popular Mat Stack dies and we've been bringing them to you each month for the last few releases.  The tradition continues this month with the introduction of the Mat Stack 3 Collection.  This set is full of wonderful basics that will coordinate with our Mat Stack 3 die.  Not to mention fabulous sentiments to go along with it.

The details.

  • Mat Stack 3 Collection will be available for sale on January 15th.
  • It will retail for $24.
  • Mat Stack 3 Collection includes a total of 20 stamps (4 full-size frames, 4 small rectangular sentiment frames and 12 sentiments)
  • The frames in this set coordinate with the Mat Stack 3 die.

Beth's-headshot
Next, an amazing new birthday sentiment set from Beth Silaika.  You have come to love our Inside & Out sentiment series for its versatility and its ability to finish off the interior of a card with ease.  Now we are bringing you a selection of birthday phrases to add to the mix.  Some are fun, perfect for kids.  Others are beautifully written and a bit more sentimental, appropriate for dear friends & family.  And there are even a few that have a touch of humor for those milestone birthdays that are always so celebrated.  Pretty much all you could ask for and more from a birthday sentiments set!

The details.

  • Inside & Out: Birthday will be available for sale on January 15th.
  • It will retail for $24.
  • Inside & Out: Birthday contains a total of 16 sentiments.

Cupcake-Collection-Dies

I am thrilled to also introduce you to a collection of new dies to coordinate with the previously released Cupcake Collection stamp set.  This die set will breath whole new life into this popular stamp set!  Not to mention endless layering & color opportunities that will now be a breeze!

The details.

  • The Cupcake Collection Die Set will be available for purchase on January 15th.
  • The set of five dies will retail for $12.
  • These dies coordinate with the previously released Cupcake Collection stamp set.

Dawn's headshot

I also have some additional products to show you from Dawn McVey!  Number collages have been one of my favorite motifs for years and Dawn has repurposed the one she designed for a previous Color Couture download and transferred it to an impression plate application.  I am just smitten with this pattern and I know it is something I will get tons of use from!  And I know you will too!

By-the-Numbers-Impression-Plate

The details.

  • The By the Numbers Impression Plate will be available for sale on January 15th.
  • It will retail for $16.
  • The By the Numbers Impression Plate measures 4.5" x 5.75".  The double-sided plate features the numbers in a horizontal orientation on one side and vertical on the other.

By-the-Numbers-front-cover
Coordinating with the style of the impression plate, Dawn also designed patterned paper featuring the fun number collage.  It is perfect for birthday cards for any age along with dozens of other types of projects.

The details.

  • The By the Numbers patterned paper pad will be available for purchase on January 15th.
  • It will retail for $8.
  • The By the Numbers 8×8 patterned paper pad contains one pattern in 6 colors, 6 sheets of each for a total of 36 sheets.  The colors include Hibiscus Burst/Raspberry Fizz, Golden Harvest/Summer Sunrise, Hawaiian Shores/Ripe Avocado, Plum Pudding/Smokey Shadow, New Leaf/Dark Chocolate & Smokey Shadow/Dark Chocolate.

Let me show you a few creations that I made using these amazing new products!

Birthday Tea Card
First up, a bold black & red creation, pairing up two of my favorite things, Mat Stack 3 and Tea For Two Additions!

Stamping
It all started with stamping the gingham frame from the Mat Stack 3 Collection onto white cardstock that had been cut with the coordinating Mat Stack 3 die.

Focal closeup
I die-cut the center of the frame opening with the standard circle from the Limitless Layers 1.75" Circle Die Collection.  I just love the expanded possibilities that this gives me.

Sentiment closeup
One of the cool things about the Mat Stack 3 Collection stamp set is the thin rectangular sentiment frames that are also included.  They are perfectly scaled to layer across the bottom of the Mat Stack 3 shape.  Here, I stamped one of them in Fresh Snow ink onto Kraft cardstock.  The sentiment (from Inside & Out: Birthday) was added with True Black ink.  Tiny black rhinestones were added to either side of the sentiment.

Teacup closeup
The teacup image is from Tea For Two Additions, stamped in True Black ink onto Kraft cardstock.  The separate teabag tag image was stamped in black as well, with the small tea logo added in Pure Poppy.  The tag was carefully trimmed out with scissors and tied with Rustic Jute Button Twine.

Impression plate
A little closeup of the amazing effect that the By the Numbers Impression Plate creates!  Ahhh…love at first sight!

Down
I created  a border for added balance to the overall project, using True Black Grosgrain Ribbon.

Interior
I used one of my favorite sentiments from Inside & Out: Birthday on the interior.  It was stamped in True Black, with a small red felt heart added for extra coziness!

Belated Birthday Wishes Card
I don't know about you, but I always seem to be behind in sending out birthday cards.  Beth thought of everything when she created Inside & Out: Birthday, including this beautiful "Belated Birthday Wishes" sentiment.

Stamping frame
To begin this project I die-cut Ocean Tides cardstock with the Mat Stack 3 die.  I then stamped it with the damask-style frame from the Mat Stack 3 Collection using Vintage Cream ink.

Focal closeup
Instead of adding a sentiment to the open area at the bottom of the frame, I added a glittery strip of Spring Moss cardstock.

Star closeup
In the center of the frame I stamped a word frame from 2011 Birthday Tags (more about this set later in the week!) using Spring Moss ink.  The star was punched from Spring Moss cardstock and sprinkled generously with Prisma Glitter.  A single rhinestone is added to it's center.

Sentiment closeup
I stamped the sentiment onto the kraft card front first, using True Black ink, then ran it through my Big Shot with the By the Numbers Impression Plate.

Down
I inked the edges of the card front with Vintage Cream ink to help add definition and highlight the impressed number pattern slightly.

Interior
For the interior of the card I die-cut Ocean Tides cardstock with the Mat Stack 4 die.  I then stamped the sentiment (again, from Inside & Out: Birthday) using Vintage Cream ink.  I added another one of my glittery stars as a finishing touch.

Cupcake Card
This bright & bold project puts those new Cupcake Collection dies to good use!

Stamping frame
First, I stamped the frame in Summer Sunrise onto white cardstock that had been cut with the Mat Stack 3 die.

Cupcake dies
I die-cut a few pieces of the Cupcake Collection as well and stamped them with the coordinating images from the namesake stamp set.

Focal closeup
I added a bit of glitter to the top of the cupcake using a 2-way glue pen and Prisma Glitter.  The cupcake was adhered to the Mat Stack 3 frame using foam dimensionals.  "Make a Wish" (from Cupcake Collection) is added with Hawaiian Shores.

Down
The Orange Zest background was impressed with the By the Numbers Impression Plate and followed by a border from the new By the Numbers paper pad.  All adhered to a Simply Chartreuse card base.

Interior
For the interior of the card, I was again able to turn to Inside & Out: Birthday.  The sentiment was stamped in Hawaiian Shores, topped with a border of Orange Zest & Summer Sunrise cardstock strips.  Throw in a little glitter and you have a masterpiece! *wink*

Wish Big Card
This last project is a little out of my comfort zone, but I ams still thrilled with the results!

Heat embossing frame
I diecut Mat Stack 3 from Plum Pudding cardstock.  I then stamped it with the coordinating Mat Stack 3 Collection frame using VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with Clear Filigree Embossing Powder.  I truly ADORE how the embossing powder picked up every single detail!

Focal closeup
The "Wish Big" star (from 2011 Birthday Tags) was heat embossed with Silver Filigree Embossing Powder onto white cardstock cut out with the standard circle from the Limitless Layers 1.75" die set.

Sentiment closeup
The sentiment (from 2011 Birthday Tags as well) was stamped with True Black ink, flanked by a few rhinestones.

Down
Note the background?  Just one of the 6 scrumptious color combinations included in the new By the Numbers paper pad.

Interior
And lastly, the interior.  Another sentiment from Inside & Out Birthday, this time heat embossed in silver.  Three rhinestones accent the top of the sentiment.

I’ve been resisting temptation of the Mat Stack 3 die for so long, but seeing today’s projects has me convinced that I MUST own this die and all matching stamp sets! Sooner, rather than later, too! Stunning projects, as always, Nichole. I love how PTI continues to incorporate new releases with existing product lines. It gives our supplies so much more versatility. Yet another release has me bursting with excitement!

There are so many wonderful items in this release post that I’m not sure where to begin, except to say that I need, i.e must have, this prize package. The Inside & Out sets are always welcome additions to a card makers arsenal. The classic patterns of Mat Stack 3 will work with many different styles and occasions – love them. The numbers IP can be used for so much other than birthdays. I can see it as a countdown for new year’s or pairing it with Top Ten or School Time. And I want to see more than just your tease of the birthday tags.

Oh, and anything cupcakes is also wonderful. Oh, and the birthday sentiments are another must have. Who am I kidding? I “need” it all! PTI is truly amazing! What more can I say?

What a wonderful post full of useful goodies! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the mat stack 3 shape ever since the bookmark release and would love to win the die and this stamp set. The numbers impression plate is fab, and who doesn’t need more birthday sentiments? It is so great when you release dies for previously released stamps. My big question is when do we get a die set for Friends Til The End – we need that, LOL!

I definitely am loving the ‘by the numbers impression plate’. I love how you guys really do see things from the card makers point of view. Giving us the option for horizontal or vertical use is so ingenious- yet I am still to see this done by any other company (that I know of)! Papertrey ink really does do what it says on the tin: VERSATILITY!

It’s why I love you guys- you give me great value for my money šŸ™‚

I have been patiently waiting for January and the release of the Mat Stack 3 stamp set. It is my favourite die in the series. You’ve done an awesome job with the patterns in this stamp set. After seeing your’s and Dawn’s cards, I am IN LOVE with the By the Numbers impression plate and paper. This release is sure setting the bar high for the rest of 2011!
