This second post for the day is filled with so much inspirational goodness, I just know you're going to leave ready to start stamping!
Well, we've done it again! Several of our talented stamp designers contributed 1.75" tag images to our new 2010 Holiday Tag set. (In case you are new to Papertrey, this is something we do every year for the holidays. You can see the previous sets HERE and HERE)
This year we have contributions from Beth Silaika, Lisa Johnson, Dawn McVey & Heather Nichols. All of the images coordinate with our new Limitless Layers 1-3/4" Circle Die Collection as well as a 1-3/4" circle punch.

- 2010 Holiday Tags contains a total of 18 stamps (12 tag images and 6 sentiments).
This set coordinates with our Limitless Layers 1-3/4" Circle die collection as well as a standard 1-3/4" circle punch.
I also have a new die to introduce to you today. The next in the Tag Sale series! This slightly rounded tag was something I designed to specifically coordinate well with the new Limitless Layers 1-3/4" Circle die collection as well as ALL the 1-3/4" images in the vast Papertrey collection.

- The Tag Sale #2 die measures 2-1/4" wide and 3-3/4" tall.
I don't know about you, but I just LOVE tags! Especially for the holidays. You can mass-poduce dozens of cute little creations in no time at all and then tie them to any type of wrapped or bagged gift. It is an easy and inexpensive way to add a touch of "homemade" to everything that leaves your house this holiday season.
The team and I have put together an entire collection of easy to create tags to inspire you to make your very own this year. I encourage you to pick one or two (or three or four!) of your favorite designs and plan now to make a BIG batch! You will be so thrilled to pull them out when it comes time to wrap all your gifts!
The tag I designed for you today features a fun little technique tutorial on how to create what I like to call "The Lazy Stamper Accordion Medallion" using the new Limitless Layers Circle Dies.
I started with a few dies, Tag Sale #2 and the "victorian" mat die from Limitless Layers 1-3/4" Circle die collection. I die cut the tags from Aqua Mist cardstock and the mats from dotted paper that is included in the Green Boutique paper pad.
For each Lazy Stamper Accordion Medallion you will need two die cut mats. It is best to use patterned paper weight only for this, cardstock is a bit too thick. You will want to use your Scor-buddy (or other scoring method), to score from inner corner to inner corner, as shown in the illustration above. IT equals only eight scores per mat, so it really takes no time at all. And since you are using the inner corners as your reference, no measuring is involved. And hence the name Lazy Stamper… :)
After the scoring, you will want to punch a 1/8" hole in the center where all the score lines intersect. This helps the paper to fold better when you are pleating it.
You will want to snip a slit in the mat along one of the score line, stopping at the center hole. Now it's time to fold! When doing these, you always want to make sure that your first fold is a mountain fold, then work from there, making your way around and alternating mountain fold, valley fold.
When adhering the two pleated mats together you want to apply your adhesive to the underside of the end mountain fold and line it up directly over the last mountain fold of the second mat, as shown above. Do the same thing with both ends.
The finished Lazy Stamper Accordion Medallion in just a few minutes flat!
As a little fun side note, I experimented with the "doily" style mat, also from the Limitless Layers 1-3/4" Circle die collection and found that it can make beautiful medallions as well. You do need to make it with three mats rather than two though, to have it lay flat.
I stamped the solid snowflake image from 2010 Holiday Tags onto New Leaf cardstock using Versamark ink, then adhered it on top of my medallions. A single rhinestone was added to its center. The sentiment, also from 2010 Holiday Tags, was heat embossed with White Filigree Embossing powder.
The strip underneath the medallion is New Leaf cardstock stamped with Background Basics: Text Style II using Fresh Snow ink. I used pinking shears on the ends of the strip as a finishing detail. Quick & easy stunning tags!

This set of tags is wonderful. I’m having trouble picking a favorite. They are so festive and there is such a nice selection to fit so many people. Grandma will love the bird, the kids will love the reindeer, friends will love the snowflake…Just a beautiful collection.

Pick me….pick me!!!! I don’t normally beg, but i LOVE tags!!!! I am thinking about tags in tins for giving to teachers at Thanksgiving to start off the holidays ready. The examples are just beautiful and I can’t ready to get started. I now have LOTS of inspiration, just need some new products 🙂 The little reindeer is just adorable. Last year a friend asked to make a bunch of gift tags for her. I had a blast making them and I’m secretly hoping she will ask me again this year! We often put so much time and thought into buying/making gifts and then wrapping them that the tag can often be forgotten. A cute tag really does add so much. I love all the different styles of the tags! I was just thinking about starting to make a bunch of tags to have on hand before the holiday rush starts and this would be perfect. And the limitless layer dies and the new tag dies would make this a pretty easy job!
Being environmenatlly conscious, I almost always choose inexpensive white or kraft shopping bags to package gifts because they are reuseable. I just love making tags because they turn a plain bag into WOW!!! These new designs and the DT’s ideas make any package fabulous.
Genius! I love how these incredible tag images (faves are the plaid background one, the dove, the reindeer, the snowflake, and the “ornament” looking one, but ALL of them ROCK)are going to coordinate so well with the new circular dies, and EEK!, another fabby tag die! I could make tags for the rest of my life, and die very happy in one ginormous pile of taggy goodness!

This is my favorite set every year. I love the versatility of the set – it can be used on scrapbook pages, for card embellishments or for gift tags (and I use a lot of gift tags at Christmas). The dies are icing on the cake. I love the way you folded the medallion – a great touch. I would never have thought to do that. All of the designers provided such inspiration.

You have really inspired me to make handmade tags for the holidays! I usually use those stick on tags, but now I am going to personalize each tag and make it special. I especially love Heather’s idea about making special tags for family–I have 3 grandchildren with 2 more due and would love to start a tradition of a special tag from their loving “Boomah”!!

I love the 2010 tag set…it’s so lovely and has a wide range of styles. It will make such pretty tags, cards. I love how the images tie in with other stamp sets. Also have to give a shout out to Nikki’s use of the blueberry ribbon on the bag. The contrast really made it pop and made me decide that I NEED it.

This set is amazing. Just love the skate and the sayings really seem to fill a void. Living in Minnesota makes winter so long, and this winter set would really fit into my card making days!

I have tried over and over again to make those little pleated circles with no success but ya’ll make it seem so easy. I so want that little die, those circles are so cute on scrapbook pages and I am more a scrapper than a stamper. These are definitely going on my want list.

I love everything, but what really stood out to me is the Victorian mat die – I make many MANY banners for a local shop and I usually always use a rosette center. While my process is down pretty well – I think this amazing tool is really going to be a time saver! Thanks for great products – always!!
