Introducing Framed

September 11, 2010      Nichole Heady      754 Comments

Becky's headshot

I have a very special set to share with you today designed by the talented Becky Oehlers.  Becky recognized the trend of hand drawn frames and wanted to create a stamp set that allowed everyone to execute the look perfectly every time.  Her set includes two frames, one square and one rectangular that have an opening for a sentiment to be inserted.  The set includes several sentiments that will tuck into the opening perfectly, but upon exploration I am certain there are several others from your existing collection that will coordinate with it as well.

The details.

  • Framed will be available for purchase on September 15th.
  • It will retail for $24.
  • Framed includes a total of 13 stamps (1 rectangular frame, 1 square frame and 11 sentiments)
  • The rectangular frame measures 4" x 2.5".  The square frame measures 3" x 3".

I also have some fun new dies to introduce to you as well that will work well for holiday projects and more.

Seeing-Stars-dies

The Seeing Stars Die Collection is a wonderful basic that can be used in so many ways.  The smallest star coordinates with our popular Star Prints stamp set, while the two larger stars can be used as accents or mats for a variety of other uses.  They nest within one another, so layering options add to the infinite possibilities.

The details.

  • The Seeing Stars Die Collection will be available for purchase on September 15th.
  • It will retail for $12.
  • The Seeing Stars Die Collection contains a total of three dies, the smallest of which coordinates with our Star Prints stamp set.
  • Star A measures 3.75" in diameter, Star B 2.5" in diameter and Star C 1.5" in diameter.

Stocking-Prints-die
Stocking Prints was one of our most popular holiday sets last year and we are proud to introduce a coordinating die for the set.  This addition makes the set even more user friendly than before and will make holiday projects a breeze.

The details.

  • The Stocking Prints Die will be available for purchase on September 15th.
  • It will retail for $5.
  • The Stocking Prints Die coordinates with our previously released Stocking Prints stamp set.

Let me show you how I used these amazing products to create some fabulous projects!

Floral Friend Card

I decided to dig our In Bloom for my first project today.  Really, the new Framed stamp set will work with almost any floral image in your collection, giving everything a fresh twist.

Embossing frame & sentiment
I stamped the frame and sentiment (both from Framed) with Versamark ink onto a Dark Chocolate card base.  I then heat set Filigree White Embossing powder on the images.  I love how crisp everything is.

Stitching leaves
I hand-cut two leaves from SImply Chartreuse felt and positioned them near the side of the frame, stitching them in place with my sewing machine.

Bloom closeup
The flower image was stamped on Melon Berry cardstock and heat set with Filigree White Embossing Powder as well.  I then simply trimmed it out.  It was adhered in place with foam dimensionals.

Sentiment closeup
I love the font Becky chose for the sentiments in this set.  It is nice and clean, just like the frames.

Down
This would be fabulous in other colors as well!

Peace Card
This next project uses a bit of masking.

Creating mask
I stamped the rectangular frame onto typing-weight paper and trimmed out the center using a craft knife and ruler.

Sponging ink
I placed the mask onto an Enchanted Evening card cover and sponged Fresh Snow ink from the outside in, letting it fade inward.  Small circular strokes are your best bet.

Stamping snowflakes

I then stamped a variety of snowflakes from Peace Be Still within the mask's boundaries with more Fresh Snow ink.

Removing mask

When you remove the mask, it looks something like this.

Stamping frame

I then stamped the frame with Fresh Snow ink.  I like to stamp the frame afterward because it makes it a bit easier to get everything lined up perfectly.

Sentiment closeup
Lastly, I added the "peace" from Peace Be Still with Enchanted Evening ink.

Focal closeup
This project showcases that the opening in the frame doesn't always need to go at the bottom, it can also go at the top.

Down
A simple one-layer card that could be easily mass-produced and would be cheap to mail!

Birthday Star Card
How about a big & bold birthday card next?

Stamping frame & sentiment
This time I used the square frame, stamped in True Black ink.  A added a sentiment from the previously released Birthday Bash Sentiments in the frame opening.  It is so fun to look through your stash and see what else will fit!

Cutting felt star
You might notice a little something new here… Pure Poppy felt!  It will be available this release, just in time for holiday projects!  I die-cut the Pure Poppy felt with the largest star from the Seeing Stars die collection.

Stitched star
I adhered it to a piece of Pure Poppy cardstock (for stability) that was cut with the same die and stitched around the perimeter with my sewing machine.

Cutting smaller stars
Next, I cut the two additional stars from Summer Sunrise & Ripe Avocado cardstock.

Down
I adhered all of them together and finished it off with a twine-tied Ripe Avocado button.  I love how this embellishment turned out and I can hardly wait to make more!

Merry Card
I thought I would pair Frames and Stocking Prints together so I could try out the new Stocking Prints die.

Stamping frame
I started by stamping the square frame with Vintage Cream ink onto kraft cardstock.

Stamping merry
Then I added the sentiment (from Framed) with the same ink.

Stamping stocking
I die-cut the Stocking Prints die with Vintage Cream cardstock.  I then stamped the top of the stocking with Spring Moss, followed by Aqua Mist at the bottom.  Here's a little tip, I found it was much easier to stamp the top "cuff" of the stocking first, followed by the bottom.

Stocking closeup
I tied some Rustic Jute Twine between two Aqua Mist buttons.  The buttons were then adhered to each corner of the frame with glue dots.  The stocking was adhered with foam dimensionals to appear as though it is "hanging" from the string.

Sentiment closeup
I swiped some Vintage Cream ink around the outside edge of the kraft block to add to the softness I was going for.

Down
A simple little card that is just perfect for the upcoming holidays.

I hope you enjoyed all of today's projects!  Framed has so many possibilities and is truly a basic that you can't live without!  And let's not forget those awesome dies!  What do you think of all these new goodies?  Leave a comment to be entered to win an awesome prize package that includes all of it!

I loved the Framed set from the sneak peek, so I know it’s going in my cart. Looks like the frame stamps are solid rather than open to ensure that the lines stay straight. Thats a plus for me.

Your customers asked, and once again you listened. I predict the Stocking Prints stamp set will sell out before the 15th (as will the stocking die minutes after the release).

Oh my goodness! I don’t know where to start. Your snowflake card is delicious; I’d definitely like to use that one for some of my Christmas cards this year.
The Framed set is a definite must-have, especially for someone like me that can’t draw a straight line even with a ruler. I also HAVE to have the stocking die; can’t tell you what a relief it will be not to have to hand cut all those stockings. Thanks for the tip about stamping the cuff before the body of the stocking; I’ve always done it the other way ’round, and occasionally I didn’t get them lined up well.
The star dies are going to be yet another must-have, SO many ways to use those!

I am so excited about the stocking print dies. I keep looking at stocking prints — love it, keep thinking I’ll buy it — and I’m daunted by the idea of having to cut them out by hand. This puts that concern completely to rest!

I love that stocking set and it’s so nice to have a die set that matches. The star dies would also be great for cutting felt or fabric to make some cute hair clips – or applique onto a onesie or little girl’s shirt. So many possibilities.

Oh, I am in heaven. I have always loved when Nichole did that frame around her stamps and when I tried it, mine just didn’t look right, either it wasn’t straight or I didn’t get my measurements right. This is most definately going in my basket. I didn’t buy stocking prints last year cause I bought the Tree Trimming Trio instead, but have always loved this set.

I’ve been waiting for PTI to come out with a frame stamp. Since you often hand draw a frame I figured it was only a matter of time before we saw it in stamp for. It looks wonderful and I can’t wait to use it! I love the star dies. They can be used for so many different projects. Like circles, stars are very versatile. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

I am definitely “line” challenged and am thrilled to see Becky’s latest set. It’s definitely something I need. And the dies…… I am loving the stocking prints die. I didn’t order the stamp set last year, as I really didn’t want to cut them by hand. Now it’s back on the list of must haves.

Becky hit the jackpot with this set! Everyone needs the stamped frame, such a time saver. Love all of Maile Belles samples, so inspiring. I would LOVE to win this package, thanks for the chance to do just that.
