For a few years now I have been thinking about the best way to go about creating the ultimate collection of products to enable stampers to create their own customized calendars. I felt like it was most important to make the process quick and easy, because if you are anything like me, you start on a project like this and don't follow through to the end because there are TWELVE pages to complete after all!
Well, the thought process is finally complete with every detail executed perfectly, bringing you the Calendar Basics line of products.
It all starts with a stamp set. The Calendar Basics stamp set includes everything you need to customize our line of pre-printes calendar products (more about those in a moment). All twelve months are covered in not one, but two different fonts.
There are small design elements that can be used to accent the monthly headings, giving you many ways to customize the look of your calendar.
There are holiday icon images to designate which day a particular holiday falls on.
There are even elements that allow you to create a custom title for the cover of your calendar project.
The years 2011-2020 are covered so you will be able to get lots of use from this set for years to come.
There are sentiments that allow you to use the month titles in your everyday card making.
Myself along with the rest of the team will be showing you how all of these images work together to create calendars and more, but first the details.
The details.
- Calendar Basics stamp set will be available for purchase on September 15th.

- Calendar Basics stamp set includes a total of 62 stamps (12 month titles in a block font, 12 month titles in a script font, 10 yearly titles (2011-2020), 8 complementary design elements, 9 holiday/event icons, 6 cover title elements and 5 sentiments)
Now I am assuming that many of you may be like me and have shied away from calendar projects in the past because of how labor intensive they tend to be. Well, that was the old way of creating calendars. With our pre-printed calendar pages and the help of an amazing die, you can complete an entire calendar in half the time.
First, let me show you the two different types of calendars we will be offering on the 15th.
Our pre-printed 2011 Mini Calendar is the quickest way to put together a project. The pages measure 2.5" square and they are printed on white patterned paper weight paper. They are designed this size to specifically coordinate with our new Calendar Page Die (more about that below). The "days of the week" are printed in a light gray across the top of the page, while the numbers are printed in black.
I designed the pages so there is the perfect amount of space at the top to add your own month title, allowing you to keep everything color coordinated within your project. To help this project be time efficient, I added a code in the lower right corner of each page that let's you know what month the page is for. For example, the January page has the code "PTI JAN2011". These pages make it SO quick and easy to put together your own project in a matter of minutes, but still give you the flexibility of customization.
The details.
- The 2011 Mini Calendar will be available for purchase September 15th.
- They will retail for $2 each.
- Each 2011 Mini Calendar contains all twelve months, each page measuring 2.5" square.
- They are printed on quality white 80lb. paper (the same paper we use for our patterned paper).
- The 2011 Mini Calendar coordinates with the Calendar Page Die, available separately.
Now a bit more about the aforementioned Calendar Page Die. This die measures about 5-1/4" x 6-1/2", creating pages that will fit perfectly in our Calendar Cases. The small tabs will hold the 2011 Mini Calendar pages perfectly in place and add an extra design element that eliminates the need to do any matting or layering. This helps to keep the pages thin so that they can all fit in the Calendar Case.
I love the concept of this die because all you need to do is stamp a pattern or image directly onto the cardstock, slip in the mini calendar page and you're done! Quick, easy and FUN!!!!!
The details.

- The Calendar Page Die measures about 5.25" x 6.5" and the pages it creates fit perfectly in our Calendar Cases.
- The 2011 Mini Calendar pages can be inserted underneath the tabs for calendar creating efficiency.
- Any 2.5" block can be inserted behind the tabs for use in both card making and scrapbooking. Think of the amazing, quick & easy mini book possibilities!
For those of you who enjoy making larger scaled calendars that allow you space to write notes and reminders each day, our 2011 Large Calendar is just what you need. These loose, unbound calendar pages measure 8.5" x 11" and are printed on heavyweight 120lb white cardstock. This is an even HEAVIER weight than our Stamper's Select White cardstock!
The 2011 Large Calendar pages allow you plenty of room at the top to add photos or stamp images directly to the page. You can add just the month or finish it off with flourishes or other embellishments from the Calendar Basics stamp set. Stamp images can be tucked into different date blocks to note birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. The 2011 Large Calendar pages also feature the same month coding as the mini calendar in the lower right hand corner, making it easy to keep track of what month which page is for.

- Each 2011 Large Calendar contains all twelve months, each page measuring 8.5" x 11".
- They are printed on quality white 120lb. cardstock (this is a heavier weight than our Stamper's Select White Cardstock!)
Now, if I haven't tempted you enough already, let me tell you all about a THIRD way you can utilize the Calendar Basics stamp set!
Are you familiar with the concept of a birthday calendar? The premise behind a birthday calendar is that you have a permanent page for each month with a listing of the birthdays you want to remember each year. You use the same calendar every year, so it is an amazing organizational tool and/or gift.
The concept I came up with allows you to easily store a few cards along with each month and house it all together in a sturdy, long-lasting binder. Plus you can put your effort into making a really cute cover for the binder rather than each individual page since the work is practically done for you.
The Birthday Calendar Pages arrive flat and scored just to the right of the list portion of the page as well as three hole punched for the binder. There is space at the top of the list for you to add the month with the Calendar Basics stamp set. The idea is for you to fold the list flap over and adhere just the top and bottom with Scor-tape and create a pocket for cards each month.

- Each Birthday Calendar Page set contains twelve pages (for twelve months), each page measuring 8" x 10.25".
- They are printed on our Stamper's Select White Cardstock.

We are also selling the three ring binder to store the Birthday Calendar Pages in. It is similar to the binder we currently sell to house the Color Couture line of products, minus the logo printed on the cover.

- The Kraft Binder is a three ring binder that measures 7.25" wide and 9" tall.
So, are you as excited as I am about ALL these amazing goodies! Let me show you what myself and the rest of the team has created with this incredible product line!
I thought I would start out today's post with one of the customized Birthday Books that you can create with these products.
I embellished the cover of the Kraft Binder with a strip of Ocean Tides cardstock stamped with Turning a New done in Fresh Snow Ink. The title is die-cut using the Mat Stack 4 die from Stamper's Select White cardstock. All of the elements within the title are images from the Calendar Basics stamp sets, allowing you to customize your project inside & out.
The companion stamp set also has elements to decorate the spine of your birthday book. I discovered that the Tea for Two label die works nicely with this image.
Now, a bit more about those Birthday Calendar pages I was telling you about earlier. They come pre-punched and scored, ready to fold into the pocket pages.
All you need to do is add a few pieces of Scor-tape at teh top and bottom…
and when you fold it over, it becomes a pocket to hold cards for each month.
As I mentioned earlier, there are stamp titles for each month. Here I stamped it in Spring Moss and then added one of the small flourishes from the set in Ocean Tides. I love how I can easily carry over my color scheme from the cover to the interior pages this way.
There is a small "HB" (Happy Birthday) and "AN" (Anniversary) to be used to mark which days have a birthday or anniversary associated with them. You can then fill in the appropriate name next to each date.
Once all of the pages are complete, they tuck beautifully inside the binder together.
Not only would this make a wonderful gift for someone, full of birthday cards, it would be a great way to treat yourself since you ARE after all a card maker!
Now, how about a project using the mini calendar? I started by die-cutting 12 Calender Pages with the Calendar Page Die, using 12 different colors.
I matched up a color with each month and then stamped the month titles in the coordinating color. For February I used Melon Berry.
I decided to stamp all of my pages with Friends 'Til the End using Fresh Snow ink. After doing so, I was able to go through and insert the mini calendar pages with each appropriate color. All twelve pages tuck nicely into the calendar case.
To finish the project, I created a wrap around cover for the calendar. There is a special stamp in the set that is specifically designed to be used on calendar case spines. Here it is, customized with the year "2011". As I mentioned earlier, the years 2011-2020 are included so you will get nearly a decade of use from the set.
I punched out 3/4" squares from the scraps leftover from die-cutting the calendar pages and stamped each one with Friends 'Til the End, then arranges them in an eye appealing color-block pattern on the cover. I lovethe way this turned out!
The finished case looks professional & polished! It's little details like the cover of this calendar, that really take a project to the next level!

Oh wow – I’ve been looking everywhere for a nice Birthday calender – now I might just have to make one for myself! The more I read about the calendars, the more excited I get. I make a calendar for my sister every year for her birthday and it’s so appropriate since her birthday is Dec. 31. I always look online for the perfect basic calendar to stamp and embellish. I think the Basic Mini Calendar is perfect. And the die is genious.

I’m kinda confused – I’m assuming you just place one month in the slot, but if I buy those “already printed mini calendars that are gummed” will it hold the 12 months? What kind of paper is the mini printed on. I love the concept and I’m going to be broke this month for sure!
My family and friends think my projects are amazing but we all know Papertrey products make it easy for me to look like I know what I’m doing.

Oh My! Every year I have bought digital templates to make calendars for my family but they are never quite right and I seem to struggle getting them all together. This is SO going to make it a more pleasant and personal experience and I think it will actually be quicker than having to make them even digitally! Also being in Oz Christmas months do not have to have snowflakes!! YEY! LOVE LOVE LOVE these goodies!

I have to admit, I love the idea of making calendars but never do, because I know how I am about finishing them. This is a fabulous concept to create them start to finish, AND quick and easy! Suddenly it doesn’t seem like such a duanting process and looks to be super fun!!
I just finished making a 2010 calendar kit this past weekend and it was so labor intensive-must be why we are over half way through 2010 and I just made the calendar. All of the calendar products you introduced today are certainly going to make beautiful calendars super simple to complete. Leave it to PTI to come up with the perfect calendar package! Every year I search for the perfect little calendars to discreetly have at each work station at our public Circulation Desk so my staff has ready access. Now I can create them with your mini-calendar products! Hooray! The large calendar and birthday calendar products are great too!

The calendar set is great. Yes I made calendars one year for gifts for co-workers. There were way too many steps, but this looks like it is very streamlined, and with the use of dies and precut calendars. The fun is back in the calendar! Way to go.
This is wonderful !! I’ve tried to make calendars in the past only to end up with a big mess and wasted cardstock… but YES, this makes me want to jump in with both feet and try again! I think this time the results will be much different. And the Kraft binder is an added bonus… love it !!!

Nicole! Spot on with the calendar’s! I make them every year for the family (7 in total!) and being that this is the 5th year that I’m going to be making them, I’ve started taking more and more short cuts, to eliminate the 45+ hours it takes me to make them. This is surely to cut the amount of time I spend working on calendars and not getting enough sleep. THANK YOU!
WOW! I have not done much with calendars in the past I thought that I would for sure mess something and have to start all over. This will totally streamline the process, I am totally going to call my mom this morning and let her know that I can now help her with that calendar that she was going to have printed at the office supply store for my dad for Christmas. And for me, I am so excited to make a birthday calendar and hopefully be organized for 2011 bdays. Maybe in 2011 I will be able to send less belated birthday cards with this! Cross my fingers!

I have made my daughter a 12×12 calendar for the past 4 years. Its her way of scrapbooking her year. I think this calendar set of products just took care of a large portion of my Christmas list. I love the versatility and I can’t believe we get 62 stamps for $24. What a fabulous value.

All I can say is “WOW!!!” This set & accompanying items is just amazing. It appears that every detail has been covered. I like to make calendars for teacher gifts, but hate that they take up so much time. I can’t wait to order these items, as I know it will be so much more fun to make calendars this year. And I am due for a new birthday book, too. I knew this was going to be a must-have when we saw the peaks.
I love that the “calendar” part is done, leaving just the fun stamping to customize them! I have started and never finished calendars before-but I am sure this entire grouping will cover all of my needs.

Ohhh, these calendars sets are a great idea!! I have not tried putting together a calendar because it always looked too time and labor intensive. I really, really need to make a birthday calendar with pockets so I don’t accidently give my mom and sister the same (mass produced) birthday card. These sets, dies and preprinted sheets would definitely help me avoid that faux pas!!

I “thought” I wouldn’t need this set. Nope, not me. I’m not a calendar maker. But once again you and the DT have proven me WRONG lol! First of all, there are stamps in the calendar set that I NEED, even if I wasn’t going to make a single calendar (like the beautiful polka dot corners and the sentiments). The project that blew me away was Maile’s! This would make such a stunning Christmas gift for my mom and sisters and friends! I’ve made calendars in the past, but always by spending a lot of time getting things lined up on the computer. This set will allow people to spend their time on the creative parts of calendar making since the utilitarian part is taken care of.
That’s a cute idea for the calendar set. I like how the actual calendar is pre-printed but you can embellish it any way you like. The birthday calendar sheets are a great idea too.

I have made a card holder/calendar/birthday book all in one and it was a forced to finish since I was in a class…of course what a wonderful idea so I bought a second kit… guess what… it’s STILL in KIT FORM!!! LOL

Oh my! Calendar overload! All the ideas/projects are awesome! I’ve always given calendar gifts to my family just because there are so many dates to keep track of. I usually print a plain calendar and try and gussy it up but the new stamp set would definitely help AND the pre-printed pages… awe-some! Really like the perpetual calendar cards & binder too!

Utterly stunning! I love the elegant clarity of the fonts and numerals and the way that the elements integrate. You make good design simple and take the slog out of calendar making: printing and cutting to get right dates and days will be a thing of the past. As always, the PTI is full of inspiring ideas for projects. I’m planning to make calendars for our Ladies Bible Study group for Christmas gifts and this will really make the process a pleasure.

Amazing!! Another wonderful way to put all the great PTI products to use!! Oh boy, the gift possibilities are going crazy in my head right now. I gave away little photo calenders one year and they were tons of work, but everyone loved them. I love how you’ve made a complete collection of easy to use products and how we can build on them using our PTI stamps. Brilliant!!!

Oh, I just love all of these new calendars. I especially love the Birthday Calendar. I started making me something like this at the beginning of this year and never finished it. With this new set, I know I will get it completed and have a wonderful place to store my cards waiting to be mailed. I also love the mini calendars along with the die.

Love the calendar idea. I have seen stamp sets for making calendars but hated the idea of all the stamping to make them work. Love the idea of a pre-printed page that we can dress up. Has tons of potential in customizing for the intended person. Great idea for the men in our lives. A useful desk idea that they will use and remind them of us. Can see tons of possibilities.

I love the idea of pre-printed calendars and the birthday calendar idea is fab! I made calendars last year and I thought I was gonna die from all the printing and cutting! And I wasted a good chunk of cardstock as well! This would love many issues!

This is a super wonderful idea!! I just started making calendars last year and really love your concept. Some of the calendars I plan to make using my many photos are: a Louisiana calendar with
crawfish, alligators, bayous, etc.), a Saints football calendar (with many fleur de lis) as well as photos, a family recipe calendar with pics of each cook and dish, a hunting calendar, and on and on…..!! Thanks for some really great calendars!!!

We used to make digital calendars for the grandparents and great grandparents, but stopped because they cost more than we wanted to pay. Now with the large calendar pages I could see us making them again. Our grandparents would love it. Would you also think about posting some ideas on how to bind the large calendar so it can be hung? Oh My! OH MY! As I was scrolling down reading, I was thinking, hmmm, if they could just have an easy way to make each month…and there it was! Scrolled down thinking…if only there was a small size and not just the traditional large calendar…and there it WAS! And oh if there was a way to put cards into the pages…and THERE it WAS! And oh if there was an album to put the pages in…and Yep…THERE IT WAS! Talk about making dreams come true! LOVE IT! I’ve made other calendars before and usually by May or June, I’ve had it! 12 months of stamping the dates, trying to find fonts with all the months, and don’t even mention finding the year! And once it’s done…it’s can’t be used the next year! I’ve got to start ALL over again! Only question I have…WHY DIDN’T YOU MAKE THIS EARLIER? 🙂

Nichole, this calendar set is wonderful!!!! I have tried to make calendars in the past but alway have problems getting them to look good enough to give to someone. With this new set and pre-printed pages I think I may can make some that someone else may actually receive as a gift. And the whole design team’s samples are great, gives us so many different options.

Love, love, love, love the calendar set line-up. I am so impressed with the flexibility of the set and the ease of putting together a calendar. But my most favorite new item is the card calendar. I would love to have one, and therefore, it will be one of my favorite things to give to other people.

This is absolutely the BEST product EVER introduced by PTI! You can’t make it any easier than this for those of us crunched for time. This is at the top of my wish list and will gladly be here in time to make some very special gifts for my family and friends. This takes stamping to a whole new level.

I have made a birthday calendar and some large calendars in the past – very labor intensive. These will speed things up – but more importantly, will be so much fun!
I love the smaller calendar in the CD case. It would be perfect to mass produce for co-workers.

I love all this. I have been recently obsessed with making calendars and just can’t seem to to find the right items. Now my only question is how quickly will it come?

I have always wanted to make my own calendars but have avoided it. It seemed to daunting of a task. This set makes it look so do-able. I can check several Christmas gifts off my list with this set.
I can’t wait to receive my full-sized calendar with pocket and the kraft binder! This will be an excellent way for my parents to keep up with birthdays and anniversaries. They are in their upper 80’s and live in an assisted living facility. I’ll include some cards in all the pockets so that they can sign them and send them out on time. In the past I’ve made lists for them and they are left to their own devices in getting cards, this way, they’ll have the dates and cards available each month.
Actually, I was so inspired by your tutorial and samples of all the calendars, I am going to order the small calendar and stamps to use as well! Thanks for taking the time to explain and show all the samples!
