Many of you shared some heartfelt stories with me during the sneak peek of today's set. You all had heartfelt memories connected with the Lily of the Valley, and that makes me twice as thrilled to share all of my projects with you today!
Year of Flowers: Lily of the Valley is the 4th addition to my popular monthly series. Featuring sentiments that are interchangeable between the sets as well as "month" stamps that can be combined to make a calendar, these sets are must haves!
The details.
- Year of Flowers: Lily of the Valley will be available for sale on May 15th.
- It will retail for $15.
- Year of Flowers: Lily of the Valley contains a total of 7 stamps (1 large flower, 1 small bud cluster and 5 sentiments)
- The sentiments are interchangeable with the other stamps in the Year of Flowers series: Violets, Daffodils and Sweet Peas.
I also wanted to let you know a bit more about a new sentiment set that is being released this month, Inside & Out: Thank You. It's chock full of wonderfully heartwarming phrases that are sized appropriately for the interior of cards, but can also be adapted for the front cover as well. These sentiments will always give you the perfect things to say.

- Inside & Out: Thank You will be available for sale on May 15th.
- It will retail for $24.
- Inside & Out: Thank You contains a total of 17 stamps (12 large interior sentiments and 5 "thank you" stamps, each in a different font)
- These sentiments are part of an ongoing Inside & Out series. Inside & Out: Baby is part of this collection thus far.
I'm thrilled to share a few projects with you that I created with these sets. Let's get started!
I decided to keep my first card nice and simple and stick to a traditional "Lily of the Valley" color scheme of Ripe Avocado, Fresh Snow & Kraft.
I stamped this stunningly detailed image onto my kraft card front with Noir Black Palette ink. I love the scale of these flowers because they easily fill up a whole cover, taking most of the work out of the project for you!
Next, I colored the leaves of the flower with the darkest hues from the Ripe Avocado Copic Trio. I love how this combination shows up so vibrantly on Kraft cardstock.
To make the Lily of the Valley flowers appear their traditional milky white, I used a cotton swab to apply Fresh Snow ink in a circular motion. The softness is just amazing in person!
After all of my coloring was completed, I swiped the white ink pad around the edges of the focal point. I ran the white card cover through my Big Shot with the Linen & Canvas Impression Plate. Then adhered the focal point to the card.
I stamped this sentiment (from the Lily of the Valley set) in Noir Black Palette ink directly over the coloring I did a few moments ago. I tied a bit of Rustic Jute Button Twine around the card base, just under the sentiment, as a finishing touch.
This is one of my personal favorites tonight because of the unusual color scheme for me, Melon Berry & Terracotta Tile. I also think that I was able to create a completely different look with the large bloom stamp when compared to the las project. You know me, I love a set with variety!
I stamped the Lily of the Valley onto Melon Berry cardstock using Terracotta Tile ink. After letting it dry a few minutes, I went back in with my R02 Copic marker and colored in a few select portions of the flowers. The tone on tone effect is amazing!
When I was done coloring, I rounded the corners and used the Woodgrain Impression Plate with it. Adding that texture gave the project a more modern feel I think.
I love adding color to our silk ribbons with Copic markers. Today's project is no exception. I used R02 & E08 Copic markers on either side of the 3/8" ribbon. The way the ink bleeds into the ribbon from both sides gives almost a tie-dye/graduated effect.
Here is a closeup of the bow I created with my ribbon. I tied it around the Kraft sentiment strip and affixed a small Dark Chocolate button to it's center using Rustic Button Twine.
Here's another view of everything put together.
And last but not least, the card's interior. I stamped the Lily of the Valley image again in Terracotta Tile ink. I then added the sentiment (from Inside & Out: Thank You) in Dark Chocolate, slightly overlapping the flowers. Love howthis turned out! Not to mention heartfelt!
This is a really simple project featuring the bright, vibrant Hawaiian Shores color that joined our store two months ago. I started by stamping the Lily of the Valley images on the card cover using Fresh Snow ink. I then outlined it's perimeter with black pen.
The sentiment tab was created by cutting the new Fillable Frames #4 die-cut in half.
I stamped one of the medallions from Giga Guide Lines with Aqua Mist
ink onto the new tab. Then "thank you" (from the Lily of the Valley
set) is added in black. Three small rhinestones were added above it.
For the interior, I stamped the Giga Guide Lines medallion again and overlaid another of the incredible sentiments from the Inside & Out: Thank You in black ink.
Last, I wanted to show you a fun vellum card that I created. The card base is created from our Vellum Cardstock, with a white mat, slightly smaller than the card, is adhered to the inside of the back cover. The Mat Stack 1 die was used to cut the front cover so it could serve as a window to have a peek at the inside.
Here's a closer view of the exterior.
There's nothing like crisp, clean cardstock to make a paper crafty girl excited again!
As you can see, the window provides a little peek at all the color inside!
And here we are, finally to the interior you've been waiting to see in it's entirety! I got to thinking that if these floral images were colored with some vibrant color schemes they could very much represent other varieties of flowers.
I used the Ripe Avocado, Raspberry Fizz & Orange Zest Copic Trios to color these beautiful flowers.
The 1.75" punched circle in the middle is stamped with one of the single "thank you's" from Inside & Out: Thank You. I drew lines above and below the sentiment to help it stay grounded.
Under the circle is a sentiment stamped directly onto the card base (Another from Inside & Out: Thank You), using Noir Black Palette ink. A fun & unique project, heh?!?!?

A few days ago my daughter and I were looking at a cross-stitch pattern my mother did for me many years ago – months of the year with flowers. As we admired it I realised that the year in stamps has followed the year in cross-stitch. A very special discovery for me. I’d love to have Lilly of the Valley in time for my Mum’s birthday at the beginning of June – she wore it at her wedding in 1947 and has always loved it. I adore the first kraft card Nichole and you are right about the image being versatile enough to be another flower – I think it could easily pass for a bluebell coloured with my blue copics.

Loved the lily of the valley cards today….really neat to see a colored version on the front and then the outline stamped on the inside! Also, love the chart paper geometric background look. I have a weakness for flowers. I think you can change a persons whole day with flowers. My mom visited a few weeks ago to help me plan the landscape for the new house. She brought me tons of flowers from her yard. She spent weeks gathering from people at her work and church. I felt so special when she drove into the drive way with her car loaded down with flowers. My favorite one by far was the Lily of the Valley. With it’s delicate white flowers cascading down. It smells so sweet. My mom brought it back from a trip to Belgium several years ago. It was the one thing that I had hoped she would bring. Now if you can make a peony I will be in love. This is great Nicole. You are a wonderful artist. Thanks.
The new flower series is beautiful, but this has to be my favourite. I love how clean and crisp it looks stamped on white card, but when you colour it, it looks amazing! The sentiments are really pretty. C x
I am so excited for these two stamp sets! Lily of the Valley reminds me of my grandma. She grew them around her entire yard and the smell was so divine. Simply perfect! The large flower images are stunning, and all of the sentiments will be super useful, especially on the inside of cards. I’m used to blank insides, but others always check to see what they say on the inside and are kind of disappointed when they’re blank.
Oh my goodness, the Lily of the Valley is so gorgeous on kraft with the Fresh Snow ink! I also adore the vellum card with the cut-out and the lovely thank-you phrases. What fabulous sets!

The Year of Flowers sets are among my favorite PTI sets. The images are so crisp and clear. I totally agree that one has to collect the whole set! As soon as I saw the sneak peek of the Inside and Out: Thank You set it went on my wish list, even though I didn’t know what it was called yet. Any sentiment set that quotes Dickens has to go on a librarian’s wish list, right? These two sets are on my definitely will be ordering list this month. Now I just have to pick and choose between all the other goodness in store this month.

I think you created the year of the flower just for me. I love stuff like this and I love that you have spaced it out per month – otherwise even though I would want them all – I would be too overwhelmed and would probably never end up purchasing the sets if they all came out at once. I have been working on card sets since the Violet set came up and I have been adding to them each month. Your project ideas help keep me motivated to keep going and incorporate what I have learned here. Again I cannot wait to order this set!

The Lily of the Valley is my favorite flower. When I got married, I wanted an entire bouquet just of those flowers, which wasn’t exactly cost-effective. Now I can stamp as many of them as I want to my heart’s content!

I too have fond memories about lily of the valley. I can remember my Mom had a whole flower bed full of them and when they were in bloom, it smelled so fantastic. To this day, I associate lily of the valley with my Mom, so this is a “Mom stamp” for me.

I just love Lily of the Valley. I especially like inside & out, it is the part of a beautiful handmade card that I always struggle with. Without something inside I feel the card is not quite complete.
This is my favorite flower stamp set and the samples created with it are stunning. What I love the most about the Inside-Out set are the phrases that accompany the thank yous.

OhMyGoodnes Nichole…you have really wowed me with this Lilly of the valley set. Love the scale. I must have it. I will have it. It is my daughter’s favourite flower and we had a backyard stone wall lined with them when we lived up north (Montreal) but do not have them here in Austin. We always made big two- handed bouquets of the L.of V. and Forget me nots as the would be in bloom at the same time. You have brought back a beautiful memory and I will make my daughter’s birthday card this year in July with this fabulous stamp! She will be 24.

As a May baby, I’m definitely going to be getting this set! I have one whole side of my house planted with Lilly of the Valley and their smell is wonderful! When the flowers bloom, I pick several bunches of them and put them all into their own little vases with a few drops of food coloring into each vase. The stems suck up the color and spread it to the tips of the actual flowers so I can have any different color lilly I want. Love them!

My Dad had Lilies of the Valley on his lapel when my Mom & Dad got married 60 years ago. What a nice flower set to make for my Mom. Dad passed away right after they celebrated 60 years together. It does bring back lots of memories.

I need need need that sentiment set. I always have problems with the insides of my cards. They often come as an afterthought and this would make it so much easier to get them done with a beautiful and meaningful sentiment inside. Now, I’ll be honest about flowers – they hate me. In real life, they die at my hands and on cards they just never look right. BUT..this set looks absolutely fabulous. I love the cards you made with it, but more than that I love the look of the flower. Just beautiful! This is the first flower set on my wishlist!!

I love the first card with the traditional coloring of the Lily of the Valley flowers. I use to have tons of them growing around our home back in the Midwest and loved the scent they sent through the air. This is a must have set!

Lily of the Valley always reminds me of home and growing up. May is birthday month so the Lily of the Valley is very sentimental to me. When I was growing up, my mom had some Lily of the Valley planted in the flower bed near the back door. I really love those flowers!

I love the tone-on-tone card – it’s absolutely beautiful. I like the scale, the texture, the color scheme – it’s essentially perfect. I’m wondering about the difference between noir and true black ink – when do you use one vs. the other? I’m thinking it might have to do with the markers, but I’m not sure. My sister always wonders why I don’t make her cards, but I think she would love it if I made her some LOV flowers– they’re her birthmonth flower and our grandma used to have them along side her house!

What a great day today is—-all these beautiful cards that have been presented today. I have not had the chance to get any of the flowers as of yet, but am dying to get my hands on them. Love, love the lily of the valley flower. It reminds me of childhood walks(in Germany)in the woods with my parents – there were always tons of lily of the valley (or “Maiglocken” as they are called in Germany)growing in the shade of the trees in the spring.

My mom was born in May so among her favorite flowers was the Lily of the Valley. We always had them in our yard. I am thrilled to have such a beautiful version of her fav to remember her by!

There’s always room for more flower stamps in my craft room but the Outside/Inside sentiments are definitely in my shopping cart on Friday. Don’t we seem to run out of sentiment combinations? I do! This is the answer to keeping it fresh!
