Gosh. Nannie didn’t have a craft basket, per se, but she did have the sewing one which did contain buttons and embroidery floss (there are 2 good ideads!).

I think it is cool to see that picture…that is almost exactly like my sewing machine! I think mine is 1944? My grandfather gave it to me when I was 18 and I have made many many creations with it, although I really am not a sewer..just exciting for me to see the picture!
Okay I would also think along the lines of buttons or thread, as it seems that all grandma’s had a thread box and a button box!
#1 staple in a sewing box = Thread (Since we all enjoy sewing on our cards, that would be super fun especially for me since I cannot just walk into ANY craft store)
I’m always late to comment but I think it means paper piercing because you can’t sew without a needle and I think it means buttons as well!! oh lalalala
