A little holiday shimmer & shine…

Dedicated Papertrey customers look forward to our introduction of new colors each month, featured in our high quality cardstock, ink & ribbon.  Because of the festive nature of the holidays, paired with some recent trend watching, we decided to do bring you something a bit different this month!  Introducing the Holiday Metallic Collections!

Metallics are SO in right now.  They can be found everywhere in fashion & home decor and we though it was only appropriate that Papertrey would follow suit! 

First up is SILVER!  The cardstock is a nice soft & not too shiny version of silver.  Beautiful, shimmery and just amazing in person.  It is 107lb. and will be sold in packages of 12 (8.5 x 11) sheets for $8.

A total of five ribbons are included in the Holiday Silver Ribbon Collection.  This is Silver Tinsel, a nice & narrow 1/8-inch.  It is the perfect thing to use to hang tags or ornaments.  It will add just a bit of shine to your paper crafting projects.  Be sure to click to enlarge so you can see the detail of the weave.  It’s amazing!

Here’s Silver Tinsel Weave, measuring 3/8-inch wide.  I love the variation in texture from the edging to the fine weave of the center.  So pretty with just the right amount of shine!

Silver Sheer Metallic is next, the widest of the collection, measuring 3/4-inch wide.  This is one of my personal favorites.  It’s subtlety is awesome, it has fantastic flexibility for a metallic ribbon and looks so pretty when tied in a nice loopy bow!  It almost has a matte finish to it, which makes it so unique!

Silver Sheer Metallic Edge is also one of my favorites (used in yesterday’s snowman project).  It is 1/4-inch wide.  I just ADORE the metallic edging.  The shininess in contrast with the sheerness of the center is SO amazing in real life.  This has been one of the favorites among the design team too.

Sheer White Polka Dot is the last of the Silver Collection… and I know what your thinking!  But it’s not silver!  True, but it looks wonderful with the other silver ribbons and will provide you with a bit of a neutral to use on your holiday projects!  Measuring 1/2-inch wide, I have found it to be the perfect width for a variety of different projects.  And who doesn’t love polka dots?

Each of the ribbons above come packaged in lengths of 5 yards for $3 each.  Please note that these are from a different manufacturer than we normally work with, so they are not spooled, they are carded.  You will be able to purchase the ribbons separately for $3 each or as a collection for $15.

Silver ink is brought to you by Tsukineko in the form of their Metallic Encore pads.  These have been my favorites for a long time.  I love that I can get that beautiful shimmery metallic look without any heat embossing.  I’ve always gotten such good impressions with this ink and love the detail that it brings out in images.  So crisp and precise.  Retailing for $9.

Now for the Holiday Gold Collection.  Here’s a photo of the cardstock.  This doesn’t even come close to representing how shimmery it is in real life!  Many that know me, know that I am normally not a fan of anything gold, but this cardstock is so subtle and SO pretty.  I have really enjoyed working with it and I think you will too. It is 107lb. and will be sold in packages of 12 (8.5 x 11) sheets for $8.

The neutral ribbon contained in the Gold Collection is this beautiful Vintage Cream Sheer Stripe, measuring 11/16-inch wide (just shy of a full inch!).  Boy, am I in love!  Paired with our Vintage Cream cardstock, it’s a dream!  It’s nice to have a stripe that is so elegant in my stash too.  I’ve been reaching for it often.  Just like the Silver Collection, each of the ribbons above come packaged in lengths of 5 yards for $3

And one more addition not in conjunction with either collection, just because we fell in love… Night Sky Shimmer Cardstock.  There is pretty much NO way to describe to you how amazing this cardstock is.  So shimmery.  I love the way the light just bounces off of it in a million little pieces.  Perfect for wintry projects or even Hanukkah themed projects.

I know there are some of you probably wondering when we’ll get back to our normally scheduled colors that you anxiously add to your expanding Papertrey collection.  I don’t want to give away too much, but I will say that you can look forward to two COMPLETE (ink, paper, ribbon) colors per month in October, November AND December!
