I actually finished my "release chores" a bit early and I have been sitting at my workspace playing around a bit more. Have I ever mentioned how much I like to play? I made a small discovery that I just LOVE, and I think you will too!
………………………………………………………………………………….
I picked up some thin cotton canvas fabric a few weeks ago at the store with the intent of doing something with it one of these days! I pulled it out this afternoon and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Flower #1 dies that are my *favorite*!
……………………………………………………………………….
Melissa mentioned on her blog the other day that a few of the images in her NEW Floral Frenzy set being released tonight, coordinated with the dies. So I used some Berry Sorbet ink and the coordinating flower image to embellish the canvas flower. I love the word *coordinate*!
………………………………………………………………………
I cut little slits at each petals intersection all the way around the canvas flower.
………………………………………………………………………
Next, I crumpled up the flower and rolled it around a few times between the palms of my hands.
………………………………………………………………………
Here is the finished distressed flower. Isn’t it such a pretty shabby chic look? I can’t help but wonder what other colors would like like when using this same technique in the future!
……………………………………………………………………….
And here is the card I put together using the flowers I made. The Pretty Pink Polka Dots Paper from the Pink Patterns 12×12 Patterned Paper Collection complimented the flowers perfectly. I distressed the edges of the paper by sanding them with a sanding block in a cross hatch motion to expose the white core.
……………………………………………………………………….
The sentiment is from Quilter’s Sampler (also released tonight) and perfect for this card since I used stitches to hold the buttons in place! I am so in love with the way these flowers turned out. Wouldn’t it be SO cute to embellish a small purse with flower like this? Oh, I just LOVE to stamp! (insert HUGE grin!) See you later tonight!

Ooo..too cute!! Guess what else you can run through? I just tried this last night…vinyl leather. Looks just like the “Thickers”!! There are 2 different kinds…the kind with the fuzzy backing and a kind that’s a little more expensive but has a smooth backing on it. I used the more expensive kind. Turned out awesome! Can’t wait to go back to JoAnn’s and get more colors and the sparkly red and black too!! Looking forward to the release 🙂 YAY!

Oooo..very cute! I also tried running vinyl leather through mine with the alphabet dies and it works great!! Looks like the “Thickers” stickers. Works best to run through a double layer or with a couple of layers of scrap paper on top of the vinyl 🙂 Also, I bought the vinyl with the smooth backing rather than the white fuzzy backing to get a clean cut. Congrats on another GREAT release!!!
