Here we are! Time to kick off Papertrey’s official November Countdown! What? You don’t know what our countdown is all about? For those of you who are new to this, here are a few details…
–Papertrey Ink releases a new stamp set (or in this particular case FOUR) every month at 12am on the 15th of the month.
-Beginning the 10th of the month I provide little sneak peeks of the upcoming release here, along with inside tips & tutorials that will help lead you to success when you use the stamps on your own.
-A new project (or projects, depending on how well my mojo is flowing) will be added to the countdown each night at midnight up until the release.
So are we ready to let the fun begin?!?!?
I thought I would start the countdown with a fun twist on a golden oldie. Many stampers are familiar with the 2-4-6-8 box. Here is an updated version that helps to showcase our newest releases. I am sure experienced paper-crafters out there may have already tried a concept like this, but I thought it would beneficial to share the details step-by-step for those who may be unfamiliar with it.
I stamped the linear images from Spiral Bouquet using white craft ink from SU!, creating my own patterned paper to work with.
Here is a close-up of one portion of the paper.
I decided to add some sparkle to go along with the theme of my project. I added small dots of glitter in a few choice areas with my Stardust pen.
To form the box, I cut my cardstock down to 8.5 x 7.5 inches. I scored the cardstock @ 2,4,6 & 8 inch points along the 8.5-inch side using my ScorPal, which made it SO easy.
I then flipped the cardstock around and created one 2-inch score on the 7.5-inch side.
Using scissors, I snipped the score lines up until the 2-inch scoreline, removing the far corner completely. This creates four equal flaps for the bottom of the "box".I applied tacky tape in the appropriate areas for box assembly.
I then trimmed the top edge of my box with some scalloped scissors ($2 from Hobby Lobby! Gotta love a bargain!)
I then applied tacky tape to a a few choice tabs in order to assemble the box.
After assembling my box, I added a cardstock handle by attaching it to the sides of the box with rhinestone brads from Making Memories. (My handle measured 7 x 0.5 inches)
For the front of the box, I created a label that makes this box a perfect favor for a Bridal Shower. I love the addition of the rhinestone stickers. I think it is the perfect finishing touch for this type of theme.
I am going to leave you guessing (for now) as to how many stamp sets are used in the label. I would be curious to know YOUR guesses as to what types of sets are being released based on the clues I have provided in the photo. Be sure to leave your thoughts on this in the comments section! Tomorrow I will have a few more details to reveal!
P.S. A big THANK-YOU to Beth Silaika for creating my new watermark for me. She was wonderful to work with and highly recommend her to anyone who is looking to have their own custom watermark designed!

hi i recently came upon ur site and have fallen in love with ur stuff! i feel like buying everything now, unfortunately, shipping back to Singapore is so exp.! anyhow…thanks for the great inspiration.
Hi, I have also recently discovered your site and your stamps. Just love your style! I have ordered some stamps and I’m waiting for them to arrive. Looking forward to the new releases! I would guess that the label uses 3 stamp sets… and my guess for the type of stamps would be bridal?
I’m so excited about this release! I feel deprived because I don’t own any PaperTrey stamps yet 🙁 . I hoping to purchase some this time around!! I love this tutorial…very cute box. Hmmm…I’m going to guess 1 stamp set was used to make the label. Am I right???
beautiful box – the color is so soft and pretty. I guess one new alphabet set, a new floral and a new bridal shower set. Can’t wait to see more tomorrow.
im gueussing the swirl floral set taht matches teh digi kit, a bridal set, an alphabet and a tag style set that goes with teh punches
andf i love the box by the way!!! perfect for a bridal shower so soft and elegant!!
I think 3 sets! Of course you know I love them all. Can hardly wait until the 15th.
OMG!!! Are you going to release an ALPHABET Nichole?!?!? I can’t wait!!! Good thing I’m going to the states in a couple weeks so I’ll be able to pick up this month’s order quickly for a change! My guess is you used 3 new sets and one old. The floral, a bridal (or perhaps occasions?) set, an alphabet, and the square is from your earlier punchy sets. Can’t wait to see everything!!
My guess is three sets for the label only . . four sets total.
Colleen
Like the others, 3 is my guess as well. Something tells me you have something up your sleeve though!
I am going to say 4 sets, one using the flower and stems, one using the monogram L, one using bridal shower and one using the ticket punch border…those layers look too perfect, so it has to be a stamp. You are keeping us in suspense…I can’t wait until the 15th 🙂
I just need the 15th to hurry up! I have 13 sets and that’s SUCH an unlucky number, lol! I need more, please! Spiral Bouquet is gonna be MINE come 12:01 am on the 15th! Love the box, Nichole! The watermark looks great, too, although honestly I didn’t even notice it until you mentioned it…is it opaque enough?

just put me down for all 4 sets and throw in a box of that rockin’ white cardstock!!! thanks
I think you used 3 sets: One older one (Borders and Corners); and two new ones – an alpha one, and Spiral Bouquet. I’m thinking maybe the words “Bridal Shower” are from Spiral Bouquet. Adorable box.
Three stamp sets… one new border choice, an alpha choice and of course the sentiment…
I am guessing the label uses the already released square border and one new set. I am guessing the ‘L’ is part of a new bridal set and is really part of the word LOVE. And, of course ‘bridal shower’ is in the new set, too. Can’t wait to find out!
I’m so excited, have been checking your blog everyday in anticipation. I think you have an alphabet set and a bridal set – whoo hooo what ever they are! Keep the awesome work and ideas coming – thanks so much Nichole.
OMG!!!! There is an alphabet!!!! I am going to DIE!!! This is soooooo elegant!! I can’t wait!!
How fun!
For the label, my guess is 3. Border and Corners (square), a fantabulous new alpha set! and maybe another set like Paper Tray with more options for Bridal Shower and such?
Do you take bribes for pre-orders? Might as well just put me down for all new sets and a sampling of new products you are offering! LOL!
Thanks for the fun times ahead,
Kimberly
Glad to be of service Nichole! I adore these stamps and love the updated 2-4-6-8 box – how amazing!
I am guessing 2 new sets, one being an Alphabet set and one a bridal set. You also think of something new and inspiring every time. You do great work to keep us coming back!!
Hmmmm…what does Nichole have up her sleeve? I’m guessing three sets total on the label: an alphabet/monogram (I’m so on top of that one), a wedding/anniversary, and anew tag set. All I know is that the new floral set will be mine come the 15th.
Linda
Lovely project- this is my first count-down-how fun.
I say that the flower background is new but on the tag itself- there are 2 new sets-the wording for bridal shower and the alphabet letter is new.
I’m not sure, but I sure hope one of them is an alphabet set. I love the cursive font of that L. Oh, this would be awesome!
Hi Nichole – beautiful design as always :o) I can’t wait to see the new sets. Looks like there’s gonna be an alphabet set with frames for doing monogramed projects??? Maybe another ‘all words’ set and the floral set. I’ll be back tomorrow!!
Ruth A.
Love the project and I can’t wait for the 15th. I’m guessing there are 3 sets total used on the tag. The border looks to be from the already released border and corners square set which I have and love, a new alphabet set and a new set that is either a bridal set or a new set with all kinds of words.
Gorgeous box! I love my Scor-Pal as well!
I’m thinking three sets for the label.
Oh my. Is that an alphabets set I see sneak peeked? Danger! Danger! I’m going to go with four sets…the Spiral Bouquet, the monogram/alphabet set, the ticket punch border and the “Bridal Shower”..maybe a sentiment set of some kind? Can’t wait for the next peek!
I hope I am seeing 3 new sets and Square Borders and Corners (I have that one)! Beautiful Blooms (LOVE), maybe a sentiment set around functions or a baby set, and an alphabet/monogram set (hopefully an upper and lower)!
Oh how I love countdown days! 🙂
Happy Happy Joy Joy!
🙂
I know how versatile you like to make things, so I think that there is only one new set used on the label because I recognize the square label stamp. Spiral Bouquet is calling my name even more this month than last. Bring on the 15th!
Smiles,
Anne
I agree with Kimberly. An old set (Borders & Corners Square), a new alpha set and a new words set similar to Paper Tray. I do have a quick question: Where do you get a Score-It? I’ve never heard of it before. That looks so helpful with all these projects. Thanks!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
Is that an alphabet/monogram set I’m seeing? Yipee!
Birthday presents for me!!!!
I’m stepping out on a limb… I say you used 3 stamp sets, but only two are new. The green inside the label is from the “Borders and Corners, Square” set…(old)… The other two are new sets. One will be an elegant alphabet complete with monogram letters, suitable for bridal showers etc. The other will be the spiral flowers. Whatever they are, they will be wonderful and I can’t wait…
Hi
I would say three for the label only. The borders and corners squares set, a new monogram set, and an occasions set similar to holiday wishes that are different greetings. I am loving you lots right now!
Dawn
The only words that are coming out of my mouth are “Absolutely Gorgeous!!”
Your style is so suited to me, it’s great (for me!).
Looking forward to seeing what else you produce.
K-xxx
A floral set, a bridal set, alphabits or mongramed set and may a new tag set. Susan
I’m thinking two sets on the label, 3 sets on the project, which is gorgeous! I hope I can stay up on the 15th! That spiral floral set is so worth waiting for!
OK, I’m guessing 3 sets on the label: Square Borders and Corners, an Alpha set and another set for the “bridal shower”. And then Spiral Bouquet on the box. Can’t wait to see it all. The sample is gorgeous!
Beautiful Nichole. Love the new things I see on this.
hmm my b-day is the 14th hmmmm I think I see some stamps in my future! simply beautiful I am soo exicted to see the 4 stamps that are coming!! 🙂
-Ellie
Oooh–could it be a set designed to make monogrammed items? That would be fun! I think there are 2 sets on the label–one with the monogram and border, and one with wording for special events (showers, anniversary, wedding, other occasions)! I can’t wait!
My guess for the label is actually 1 set. I think they all are from a new set. The square frame must be new, if you used the Extra Jumbo scalloped square. The other frame you made like that in Borders and Corners was much bigger! So I think the new set has a monogram alpha, at least one frame to match(maybe a circle too?), and a few words, including Bridal Shower. Just my guess.
What an awesome sneek peek!! The 15th isn’t here already???
YAY! I just KNEW you’d do an alphabet set soon! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Amy
I am guessing for just the tag you used three sets, a borders (the square set) a new alphabet set(I hope) and the sentiment from a new occasion set???? Looks great! Can’t wait till the 15th.
Beautiful box and images! I’d have to guess 3 sets–can’t wait to see them in 5 days!!
Rachel H.
that is so lovely, Nichole!!! I’m guessing 3 sets of stamps were used here: borders and corners set and 2 new ones: spiral bouquet and maybe a monogram set? ooooh aaaaah! can’t wait!!! love your watermark!
I would guess two sets were used to make the label. The square label is not from the Borders and Square set. I have that one and use it all the time and that adoralbe ticket corner frame is not in it. So that being said – one set would have all types of frame/labels with different sayings and the other would be an alphabet/monogram set. But Nichole has something up her sleeve so maybe only one new set was used to make the label… I can’t wait to see what the answer is!!
My guess is 4 sets. What a cool look to your label on the box. really do have to learn how to use my Nestabilities this weekend. Don’t know why I’ve put off using them.
Hmmm, at first glance, I would say 3 for the label, 4 for the entire project (with the flowers). However, you like to simplify life for us stampers, so I’m guessing that label is all one super awesome set- with a few label stamps, a mini monogram alphabet (there better be a beautiful & in there), and a few sentiments/event stamps. I could see that fitting into the $24 range.
I am guessing 3.
The floral set. The peek we had last month.
A frame set with invitation style sentiments such as baby shower, bridal shower, birthday
etc. I assume they include some frames in the complete set ?? if not the frame will be with the monograms! See next guess
A monogram/Alpha set!
I hponestly don’t care how many are in this featured project, because I already know I’m ordering all FOUR sets 😀
So, I will have them all!
What a great surprise…I forgot it was the 10th! Ok, so I’m going to guess there’s going to be a Wedding set, an Alphabet, the flower set that I’ve been dying to buy, and a frame set to do monograms!
Lovely box. I really like the handle. I’m guessing an alphabet set including a few frames, making it a monogram set. Hmmmm…Monogram Madness? I think the “Bridal Shower” is from another set.
Love it!! Can’t wait for this set!
YES! Finally a monogram/alphabet set? And it’s a beautiful font!
Hi Nichole!
I’m guessing an alphabet stamp and a borders stamp w/some text stamps included.
Bobbie 🙂
Beautiful project. Looks like three sets were used – floral from the digi kit, monogram, and special event set.
well, aren’t you just a sneaky wittle wabbit!!! my guess logically would be 3, but i bet it’s more or less than that. did i narrow it down? ha!
OMGoodness, I LOVE IT!!! I’m thinking 4 sets, and I can’t wait to see the full Alphabet…it’s gaw-jus. I love that the 4 hour (earlier) time difference works out for me…Every month on the 15th, I log in at 8:00 my time and order my sets…woo hoo for us Alaskans!
Nicole, This is an adorable image. What a great tease. Can’t wait to see the set.
You are really talented! You have such beautiful ideas and do such a great job at presenting step by step instructions! Where did you buy your Scorepal? It looks like it would make things so easy!
OOH LA LA…I can’t wait to see more. This is absolutely beautiful. I adore the colors. It’s such a sweet project. Thanks Nichole!
I am guessing 2 new sets – the alpha/monogram and a wedding set. I think the tag comes with the alpha/monogram. Love the floral stamp.
I think the new releases are going to be spring related – wedding.
I am anxious to use your paper. I love the fact that you have taken great measures to have ribbon match the paper as well. As a cardmaker, this is VERY important! Thank You!!!!
Me encantan todos tus trabajos, aunque entro poco a ponerte mensajes porque no entiendo el ingles, desde luego admiro muchísimo tus creaciones. Enhorabuena.
The spiral plays a specific role in symbolism, and appears in megalithic art, notably in the Newgrange tomb or in many Galician petroglyphs such as the one in Mogor. Spirals are a symbol of hypnosis, stemming from the cliché of people and cartoon characters being hypnotized by staring into a spinning spiral.
