Jen del Muro invited me to participate in a Papertrey themed challenge she is hosting today at her blog. She wanted to test everyone’s creativity by challenging them to only use Papertrey images within a project. How could I resist!
I got inspired by a Martha Stewart ad I found in a magazine. I was really attracted to the colors and the serenity I felt when I looked at it. I wanted to try and replicate the look with my card. I layered the dandelion stamps from Green Thumb to create a pretty two-toned flower. The large dandelion in mellow moss and the smaller one layered on top with true thyme. As an afterthought, I wish I hadn’t done the paper piecing up the sides of the stems, but I wasn’t about to re-create the card all over again! I’ll be keeping my eye on Jen’s link to see what others come up with for this challenge!
BTW, Green Thumb is now on backorder because of its popularity! We will have more in stock around April 17th! Only 9 days away! Our manufacturers have been great at helping us keep up with supply & demand!

Wow! I love it! The moss/thyme flowers look amazing.
I am so excited to receive my set. The tracking says its in Canada (thank you for providing the tracking service, by the way!) but due to the holidays and our Postal System, I may have to wait until Wed. at the soonest 🙁

that card is so lovely! I felt the peace and serenity you mentioned…but in the card. I don’t think I know much about this PaperTrey company but I look at about 105 stamping blogs each day and see it mentioned.
Can you email, possible, and tell me what sort of stamps these are. But this set you linked us all to is so totally useable.

Hi Nicole! Beautiful card! My mother would so love this as her favorite color is green.
Silly question for you, even though this set is backordered, will I be able to order it with the stamp set that is being released this month on the 15th? So in other words, I order on April 15th and get the new set and this one (it will just ship when the backorder comes in).
TIA!
Linda

Glad you got to stamp for fun!! 🙂 LOVE your card and I love how you were inspired by something not paper crafting related (it’s always fun to do that!!). Thanks for playing!

This card is absolutely fantastic and makes me think I *need* that set! Love your color choice and do feel the serenity in it. I’m sure the paper piercing took a lot of extra time, but I think it adds so much to the total design. Smiles 2 U! 🙂

WOW, this card is out of this world! I love it and the colors are such a match to the ad.(which really speaks to me). I wish I could look at something like that and come up with what you did…I’ll have to give it a try, TFS.

Nicole, I love this card. I personally think the paper piercing on the stem sides is wonderful. I noticed you used your favorite color (green) again! I can’t wait to create with my set but being Easter Weekend that just wasn’t possible. Ida

Awesome card Nichole! I love the two stamps you used for the flowers….layered together. And the little flower accent on the sentiment part is way too cute!! I am loving this set. I’m wondering…..do you design each image on your computer yourself?

Aboslutely gorgeous! I love how the flowers are layered with the two different greens (my favorite color). And the piercing really adds to the card, I think. Beautiful job as always!
