My inspiration today comes from Debbie Olson, a very talented stamper that I gain insight from often. She has been using Liquid Applique on her recent projects, and I decided it was about time for me to find mine and play around with it. I utilized the Liquid Applique in the centers of my flowers for this simple invitation. One of my favorite things to do is chalk it after it has "risen" and been heat set. I love how the chalk goes down into all of the nooks & crannies. The color really brings out the texture. I also tied ribbon around the "stems" of the flowers. I do not like large holes to show where the ribbon has been inserted, so I just make two slits (one on either side of the stem) with a craft knife. I then can bring the ends of the ribbon up and around the stem and tie into place.
Your card is so adorable! I love the tip about the ribbon. I’ll have to use that soon.
I love the clean simplicity of this card. And thanks for reminding me about liquid applique…I haven’t used that for YEARS and I know I have some around here somewhere…I need to dig it out again! :o)

Wow! I absolutely love your card. The tip about the ribbon is fantastic…I never thought about cutting slits in the paper!! It is so clean!! That’s great! I also loved finding out that you could actually color the applique with chalk!?!?! WOW!!! Too Kewl!

Oh, this is so bright and cheery and I love the very clean lines! The layout of the card really appeals to me the most, I love that you only used one corner, I am always so tempted to fill the card or stamp in the center, this is just fantastic!
I just came onto your blog through Debbie Olson. I have admired your work through Paper Crafts for sometime. I just LOVE the simplicity and cleaness of this card. I also looked back at some of your other cards/projects using your “soon” to be released stamp set. These are really great ideas. Quick and Simple, but very CLASSY!

I love the color scheme of the card with the pinks and greens. One of my favorites! Also, the simple of idea of using slits versus a large hole punch is a simple clever one that I will definitely try! Looking forward to viewing the stamp set!
