I have designed two classes to take place in September at Memories in Bloom. They are going to be so fun! I am really looking forward to them, the projects are super creative with lots of fun “tidbits” to pick-up and try your hand at even after you return home to your own scrap space.
STAMPING 101
Thursday, September 14th (6-9pm) OR
Saturday, September 16th (9am-12pm)
$18
The world of stamping has developed into a craft in itself, with a variety of mediums available. So much so, that at times it confuses even the most experienced stamper. Demystify this versatile art form and start with the basics. In this class you will become knowledgeable about all the types of inks (dye, pigment, hybrid, solvent and Versamark) and what they are best used for. As well as the different kinds of stamps on the market today (wood-mounted rubber, foam-mounted rubber, clear acrylic and foam). We will also cover inking techniques and materials other than paper that are “stamp worthy”. You’ll have fun while you learn by using all of the products covered to make some amazing projects! You’ll go home with a two-page 12×12 spread a card and two additional versatile projects that can be used on a page or a card. You’ll get a hand-out chocked full of useful information that you can refer to when your stamping on your own. This includes a quick reference chart that maps out all of the inks & their uses. Whether you have always wanted to use stamps and have never tried, or you’re an old-pro who wants to experience all of the new products on the market, this class is for you!
DOODLING 101
Thursday, September 28th (6-8pm)
$15
Doodling is all the rage. But you don’t have to be an artist to pull off flawless designs. With a few basic techniques, it is as easy as connecting the dots! The concepts taught in this class will also allow you to have more versatility with the products you already own! You will complete a two-page 12×12 spread and one card. A hand-out is included covering additional project ideas and fun weekly challenges. A Signo Uniball White Gel Pen is required along with the Basic Tool Kit.
To sign-up for any of the classes, call or stop by the store to reserve your spot. They are all a little over half full already, so act now rather than later! I look forward to seeing some of you there!
