It’s Day 2 of the April Papertrey Ink Countdown and it’s going to take your breath away. We’ve got some of the most gorgeous masculine products to share with you including the new Captivating Cattails and Vase Collection 9 stamp set and dies.
I began my card by using the Sunburst Stencil Collection to create my bright, warm sky. I then used the Captivating Cattails stamp set to create my border across the bottom of my card. This delightful set comes with numerous cattails in different sizes and scales to choose from. I added the water stamp across the bottom as well.
I then added my barrel from the Vase Collection 9 stamps set, filling it with cattails that I embossed in gold at the top. Honey Nut proves to be a gorgeous color for the tops of the cattails, and I used a combination of New Leaf and Prairie Grass for the leaves. I LOVE the barrel…can’t wait to fill if with some other lovely florals, to combine the weathered, shabby look with some elegance too.
The sentiments in the Captivating Cattails can be singular or dual. I heat embossed the first part of my sentiment on a vellum die cut, using Rose Gold embossing enamel. I then stamped the secondary portion of my sentiment on a die cut Banner Builder: Basics. It’s been so fun to set aside my florals for a bit and dive into masculine cards. These new products inspire me!

For water scenes, don’t forget to reflect the colors in the sky onto the water’s surface
Next up today, we have the adorable and inspiring Scene Everywhere: At the Lake stamp set and dies. You’ll love the lovely, serene scenes you can create with this fabulous set! Also, our new Corrugated Metal Background stamps, which will knock your socks off. It’s weathered and can go from as shiny and new to as rusty and old as you’d like.
I wanted to create a postcard look and feel using the Scene Everywhere: At the Lake set. I love the setting sun, forested area, tiny ducks, and lake ripples you can choose to embellish with. This set is full of mix and match items, even including a dock for your shabby canoe, oars, and rope to tie your canoe up with
I stenciled on my setting sun and added soft Melon Berry clouds floating across the sky. I then added my tree silhouettes and added my floating canoe and oar in the foreground, followed by a bit of moving water to create movement and continue to help build the scene. My sentiment was stamped across the top using Ocean Tides ink and glittered gold photo corners were added for a classic touch.
I wrapped a strip of burlap around my background before adhering it to my card base. Have I mentioned how much I love the new Corrugated Metal Background stamp set? It’s brilliant! I created mine by stamping in watermark ink on Weathervane cardstock. I then used a rusty, copper embossing powder and heat set it. The second step consists of stamping in watermark ink once again and heat embossing using white embossing powder and a bit of rose gold. I can’t wait to see what else I can do with this set. You’ll love it too!
Wait til you see what our designers have created using this lovely scene. You’ll feel transformed to the lake on a cool, summer evening!
