The Great Cover-Up

Hi everybody, welcome to our next episode of The Great Cover-Up!  This weekly feature is all about using shapes to ground an intricate background.  Today Amy will be your guide in The Great Cover-Up so enjoy!

Let’s get started!

Intricate cover plate dies can sometimes be a bit tricky to work into a project without them being too “busy”.  Try using shapes to ground images over the top of the background.  Here the rectangle panel die from Joy Everyday Die was die cut three times and spaced evenly over the Cover Plate: Ornate Die.  These three rectangles leave the perfect place to put the florals from Blooming Thoughts across them with some dew drops and a die cut sentiment from Perfect Pairs: Essentials.  The background still adds texture without being too busy!
