Hi Everyone! We are doing something a little different this week. We will be showcasing some cards by some of our guest designers. We are very excited to share with you what they have been working on! Next are Wanda Cullen and Mindy Baxter!
I’m a long time stamper – 22 years to be exact – and am thrilled to be a guest designer for Ink to Paper/Papertrey Ink! I’m a retired registered nurse and worked 42 years at a comprehensive rehabilitation center and previously a couple of years as a surgical floor nurse immediately after graduation. We are empty nesters of three grown children and are currently enjoying spoiling our four grandchildren! My card making style is typically clean and layered with lots of florals and you will soon note that I love puns as evidenced by my blog name – Cullen-ary Creations. I hope to inspire you with my card creations as much as others have inspired me over the years!

Hello! It’s Mindy from My Creative Scoop and I’m so excited to be guest designing for Papertrey Ink! I’ve been card-making for going on 13 years! My favorite part is coloring with my Copic Markers – I just love to bring a stamped image to life. I live in Southern California with my hubby and our 3 kids, Ralphy 20, Belle 16 and Katie 12. I’m fortunate enough to have made my hobby a full-time business where I teach online and local Copic classes. Thank you so much for joining me on the Papertrey Ink Blog today, I hope I will inspire you to create!
I wanted to make a really colorful card so I took my Distress Oxide inks and created a rainbow background on a small piece of cardstock 3 x 4 1/4. This piece of cardstock fit perfect in the center of the border bling tin stitched die. I then stamped my small heart from the New All About You Stamp Set in White ink. Then, I die cut the ‘you’ 2 times, once in white fun foam and the other in black cardstock and glued the black ‘you’ to the foam for some extra dimension. I die cut a white heart out to place in the center of my rainbow background. And attached the sentiment strips the ‘you’ to my card. For some final touches I took my white gel pen and added some little dots to the rainbow background then took a black multiline to add some faux stitching around the edge.
I made another card with some cool blue hues. I first sponged my card base with Chipped Sapphire, Peacock Feathers and Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide inks. Then I die cut the Lots of Dots border die in white and glued it to the card base so you have all those little distress oxide blue dots showing. I created another blue hue Distress Oxide Background and stamped my hearts in White pigment ink and then Embossed them in some White embossing powder and die cut them out. The ‘You’ is cut out with black cardstock and the remaining sentiment is stamped in Blank Memento Ink.
I had so much fun creating these cards and using all the different techniques. I hope I’ve inspired you to create using the new release from Papertrey Ink!
