    Karen Briguglio says:

My entire family is going to Italy, except me (by choice) and I get to have the entire house to myself for 2 weeks! I am so excited. I have 5 children and have homeschooled for 22 years, and so this is my first time by myself. I am not going to leave my craft room, and no laundry, food shopping or preparation, or jumping to meet everyone’s needs. My mom even offered to watch our dog, so I will have absolutely NO OTHER LIVING THING to care for except myself!!!!!! That’s better than a trip to Italy, for sure! However, I will certainly be glad to have them home again, lest you all think I dislike my family, lol, but I am looking forward to the break.

  • 73

REST!!! I am a teacher, and there have been more things than usual adding to the stressors of the job this year. It has been a difficult and sad year for our school community, and we are exhausted. So, we all need rest and time to heal. That is what I will cherish most about this summer.

My husband works six days a week, and because he’s the boss of his ‘one man show’ he can only take two weeks off a year – but we make the best of those weeks with fabulous cross country road trips [that include meeting crafty friends along the way!] July can’t come soon enough!

  • 90
    Adele Holcomb says:

It may sound funny, but I’m looking forward to having my house back. I have been living in the upstairs of my townhouse since March 2, while the downstairs has been gutted to repair a mold issue. Without a kitchen, I’ve been eating out a lot. Who knew I would actually miss cooking!? The good news is that the insurance company has authorized all new tile and cabinets downstairs, as well as paint. The bad news is that it will be at least another 6 and probably 8 weeks before the work can be completed. So in my mind, I have wonderful plans for about July when I can invite over all of the nice friends who have been so kind to me during this upheaval.

  • 91
    Lori B says:

  • 95
    Susan says:

Summer, for me, means a big organizing project – last year it was my embossing folders. One summer it was ALL my stamps – that was a HUGE chore but amazing to get done. This year I might finally get around to “cataloging” all my die cuts. I have a large table on my screened in porch and I can lay out my project without having to worry about it getting wet or picking it up every night. So what will it be this summer … only time will tell but I know my crafting will be the better for it because I’ll have more time to create with my new PTI goodies once things are organized!

  • 96
    Sarah T. says:

Next month my son graduates high school – I’m so proud of all he’s achieved so I can’t wait to celebrate this with him. Of course, that also means that later this summer he’s heading off to college, which I’m not quite so excited about, so I’m hoping we get to spend some time together over the next few months.

  • 97
    Natasha says:

Going to the lake and enjoying the peaceful views.

  • 98

Our family vacation to England and Scotland. Can’t wait to leave. It will probably be our last big family vacation together. Once my daughter leaves for college, she will most likely travel abroad through their programs in the Summer and us parents will be left behind. It’s sort of marking a new chapter in our lives.

  • 110
    Marianne M says:

After losing our eldest sibling in December, I’m looking forward to spending a few days in Idaho with the rest of my living siblings–visiting the family home, seeing some of those dear old sites that we’ve missed through the years, and probably doing some laughing and crying together.

  • 111
    Corinna says:

I’m looking forward to my son coming to visit from Colorado during his college summer break. He is always full of fun and excitement enjoying the Floridian weather. It’s a great change from the mountains and snow for him. I miss him terribly and can’t wait to see him!

  • 117
    Jill Norwood says:

I am most looking forward to the unscheduled lazy days of summer that have absolutely no agenda! NONE! The days playing on or in the water while the sun warms my shoulders or reading a good book on an old quilt in the shade of my garden while listening to the birds and bees and sipping on an ice cold fresh squeezed lemonade.

  • 118
    Linda Blakesley says:

I am always looking forward to visiting family and being part of a wonderful group. As we live a long distance from them this is a special time.

  • 119
    Karen Walker says:

I celebrated my 70th birthday this week. It’s the first birthday that has bothered me, but two friends made up for any negative feelings I might have about this seemingly “old” age. They’ve planned a two night trip to NYC to celebrate. We’ll be going the first week in August, and have already planned our itinerary. All three of us are really looking forward to a “just girls” trip!

  • 120
