Even thought I’m a quilter, I find the thought of stitching on my cards a bit intimidating. Love this idea of just punching a few holes and stitching through them to make a simple stem. Love the different layers of dimension (popping the center flower, layering the center square on a background square, the embossing on the card base. Just lovely!

Congrats on your first video, Michelle! It was very well done. Love what you did for this beautiful Morher’s Day card. Thanks for the tip on using that guide to help stitch straight lines for your stems. Now I need some green cord or DMC floss. Fun challenge!

Great video. Can you tell us who made the piercing guide you have. I know you said you have had it awhile. It looks like a nifty tool.

Loved your video, Michelle, and how cute your Mother’s Day card turned out. What really intrigued me was the “stitched square base” as you called it that you used as your template to pierce the cardstock for stitching the flower stems. What is this really called, and where can I find one? This is the perfect size to keep with my other tools for card making. I’ve already made a call to my local scrapbooking store, and they have no clue what this is or how to get it. I would greatly appreciate your input. Thank you!
