Now that we’ve made all of the formal introductions, let’s get onto the projects!

Amy Sheffer is featuring Text & Texture: Agate + Geode Layers

Amy used ink blending to give her agate layers their stunning color. This technique is simple yet incredibly effective. The chunky gold glass glitter adds so much texture and repeating the metallic elements magnifies the elegance of her project.
Supplies:
  • STAMPS: Text & Texture: Agate
  • INK: Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, New Leaf, Tropical Teal, Enchanted Evening, Versamark
  • PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Soft Stone, and vellum card stock
  • OTHER: gold and white embossing powder, gold glass glitter, metallic gold watercolor
The nesting layers on Amy’s geode card look amazing sprinkled with clear glass glitter. The effect is so realistic! Her color choices make this card a bit more masculine, but an alternate color scheme with warmer tones would give it fabulous feminine flair.
Supplies:
  • STAMPS: Text & Texture: Agate
  • INK: Aqua Mist, Dark Indigo
  • PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Fresh Snow Linen, Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Tropical Teal, Enchanted Evening, Dark Indigo, New Medium Gray, and Soft Stone card stock
  • DIES: Geode Layers, Tremendous Tags
  • OTHER: clear glass glitter, silver embroidery floss
The many layers of the Geode Layers Die make it a perfect candidate for a shaker card. Amy’s use of watercolor on the layers gives them a softer appearance that complements the sparkly filler nicely.
Supplies:
  • STAMPS: Text & Texture: Agate
  • INK: Lavender Moon, Lilac Grace, Winter Wisteria, Plum Pudding, Royal Velvet; White Staz-On
  • PAPER: Royal Velvet card stock, watercolor paper
  • DIES: Geode Layers
  • OTHER: clear and gold glass glitter, clear sequins, acetate, Mister Huey Opaque White

Dawn-McVey

Dawn McVey is featuring Glorious Globes: April + Sentiment Staples: Congratulations

By stamping the sentiment on a paper strip and stacking the travel books on top, Dawn has almost made the greeting feel like an extension of the books. So clever! Her curved layers of patterned paper and vellum are also a unique way to add softness and mimic the roundness of the globe.
Supplies:
  • STAMPS: Glorious Globes: Basic, Glorious Globes: April, Sentiment Staples: Congratulations
  • INK: Tropical Teal, Saffron Spice, New Leaf, Cocoa Bean
  • PAPER: Cocoa Bean, Honey Nut, Stamper’s Select White, Bitty Big: Honey Nut, Sheer Basics Vellum
  • DIES: Round Off Edgers, Made With Love Tags 1, Glorious Globes: Basic
Dawn’s choice of the postage stamp style mat is also a fun nod to the global theme while the vertical sentiment is an unexpected element that adds interest to her project. Sometimes all you need is a simple change in orientation can make a big impact!
Supplies:
  • STAMPS: Glorious Globes: Basic, Glorious Globes: April, Sentiment Staples: Congratulations
  • INK: New Leaf, Cocoa Bean, Hawaiian Shores, Olive Twist, Tropical Teal
  • PAPER: Olive Twist, Hawaiian Shores, Stamper’s Select White
  • DIES: Glorious Globes: Basic, Mix & Mat: Postal
  • OTHER: Stencil Basics: Diamonds, ink blending tool
Dawn’s addition of stunning blooms makes this project decidedly feminine. Incorporating flowers is a wonderful way to add female appeal to a project. The bright pops of green are a fresh contrast against the scrumptious pinks and reds in her layout.
Supplies:
  • STAMPS: Glorious Globes: Basic, Glorious Globes: April, Sentiment Staples: Congratulations, Farmer’s Market Florals, Stitching Garden
  • INK: Pure Poppy, Raspberry Fizz, Pale Peony, Autumn Rose, Cocoa Bean, Dark Chocolate, Green Parakeet, Prairie Grass, New Leaf, Summer Sunrise
