Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!

Dawn McVey is featuring Traveler's Journal: December + Traveler's Journal: December Typed Words.

Take a close look at the snowflakes that Dawn embossed onto the background here. She added just a little bit of ink sponging over the top of each one and it really brings them to life. The smaller stamped snowflakes in the same color as the sponging ink  brings a unified look to the background. The way she has the labels cut off on the left side is a clever design detail as well.

  • STAMPS: Traveler’s Journal: December, December Typed Words
  • INK: Aqua Mist, New Leaf, Versamark
  • PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Aqua Mist
  • OTHER: Wink of Stella glitter pen, White embossing powder, 1/2” circle punch, ink blending sponge

Okay, this project is seriously one of my favorites! I love the three simple trees at the center, and that bright traditional red is so festive! The partial label with the tree medallion has so much style, while also bringing an element of balance.

  • STAMPS: Traveler’s Journal: December
  • INK: Pure Poppy, New Leaf, Olive Twist, Tropical Teal
  • PAPER: Raspberry Fizz, Stamper’s Select White
  • DIES: Mix & Mat: Snowflakes
  • OTHER: 1/2” circle punch

The strips used for this background could be made from any of your favorite patterns, dots, stripes, etc. The single text strip helps to break everything up and lead the eye down to the focal point. The way Dawn placed the label slightly off-kilter is a nice way to make sure everything isn't too perfect, making things more interesting to the eye.

  • STAMPS: Traveler’s Journal: December, December Typed Words
  • INK: Simply Chartreuse, Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, Versamark
  • PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Bitty Big: Simply Chartreuse, Pure Poppy & Scarlet Jewel
  • OTHER: White embossing powder, ink blending sponge

Lizzie Jones is joining me today, featuring Quoted: Little Bit More.

Can we just talk about color for a minute? Aren't these amazing together?!?!? Pinfeather, Pale Peony and Ocean Tides. I love that! I feel as though things would have been a bit too plain without the gorgeous die-cut vellum snowflakes. They help lead the eye all the way down the card.

  • STAMPS: Quoted: Little Bit More, Background Basics: Super Stripes, Faux Ribbon
  • INK: Pale Peony, Ocean Tides, Pinefeather
  • PAPER: Pinefeather, Fresh Snow Linen, Stamper’s Select Vellum, White
  • DIES: Wine Bottle Tag #2, Silver White Winters
  • OTHER: Scotch Foam Tape, Martha Stewart Glitter, Mark Richards Glittered Pearl, Xyron

It's always fun to see an older set brought back to life, and Lizzie did that perfectly here with the Come All Ye Faithful set. There is something so sweet about that sweater wearing dog and his cute little nose! I think it is an excellent pair with this particular sentiment, he definitely resembles Max from he Grinch movie!

  • STAMPS: Quoted: Little Bit More, Come All Ye Faithful, Come All Ye Faithful Additions, Fair Isle Borders, In The Shadows
  • INK: Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Pure Poppy, Dark Chocolate, Fine Linen, Classic Kraft, VersaMark
  • PAPER: Pure Poppy, White
  • DIES: Come All Ye Faithful, Come All Ye Faithful Additions, Double Ups: Rectangles
  • OTHER: Nuvo Shimmering Pearl Embossing Powder, Scotch Foam Tape, Mark Richards Self-Adhesive Nail Head

Lizzie also pulled out the Holiday Hugs mini kit for this hat that totally looks like the Grinch hat, especially with the addition of a real pompom. And can we just talk about how clever it is to also add the stencil from Sunshine & Rainbows with the heart? Just a perfect pairing with the sentiment!!!

  • STAMPS: Quoted: Little Bit More, Make It Market Mini Kit: Holiday Hugs
  • INK: Green Parakeet, New Leaf, Aqua Mist, Berry Sorbet, Pure Poppy, VersaMark
  • PAPER: Green Parakeet, White
  • OTHER: Make It Market Mini Kit: Sunshine & Rainbows, Filigree White Embossing Powder, Nuvo Shimmering Pearl Embossing Powder, Scotch Foam Tape, White Pom-Pom
