Almond Milk Chai Spice Latte is fast becoming my favorite. Pour unsweetened vanilla almond milk from Walmart or any other place and heat it in the microwave. When it’s hot enough, brew a Chai Spice teabag in it, steep for about 10 minutes. Remove bag. Add Truvia or your favorite sweetener to taste, sip and enjoy. If it’s a really special occasion, add some spices: cinnamon, cloves, allspice, pumpkin pie spice on top. A little whipped cream might be to your pleasure as well.

My family is mortified and grossed out by my choice but hey, it starts me out drinking water. A treat is Lion House Wassail at Christmas! Merry, merry to all!

For a really decadent treat, Schakolad (a chocolate store in various parts of the US) has a hot chocolate where they just put a cup under a running stream of dark, milk or white chocolate in the tempering machine. A nice hot latte. Nothing beats it in the morning or the afternoon for a little pick me up. I like traditional lattes without flavoring. My favorite is when I have time for one in a café with a nice round cup and the barista creates a wonderful design on the top. Then you know it’s going to be good!

My favorite winter beverage is a family recipe. It is apple juice, cranberry juice, two cups of water…pour all these in a percolator. Add a few cloves, cinnamon sticks and brown sugar in the percolator cup and let perk. It is a wonderful warm winter drink and I look forward to drinking it during cold weather!
