Planning her wedding consumed most of my spare time but I was able to do a lot of shopping on my iPad while laying in bed at night. I now have probably one of the BEST stocked craftrooms imaginable and the wedding was last week – so now I am FREE! I am going to take time for me and craft away!! Thank you so much for all of your wonderful, inspiring ideas! Let the fun begin!!!

To get back into card making and Stamping. I, sadly lost the crafting mojo…. I still occasionally scrapbook but haven’t made a card in months. I even (gasp) bought a card the other day. It is sad, I really miss it. I am hoping in the fall the mojo returns and I feel like making Christmas cards to send out to family and friends.

My biggest crafting goal for fall and actually for this whole year has been to learn new techniques. Mini goals are to stretch outside my normal comfort zone, try new things and then repeat until I’ve figured things out. The waste basket has gotten more attention this year but that’s okay because I’m learning what works and what doesn’t. I’m surprised at how much I’ve learned already: foiling, stencils, distress ink tricks, watercolor, repeated ink stamping, just stamping in general. Lots still to learn!

Whether that means two hours on Saturday morning or ten minutes one weeknight after my kids go to bed. Crafting is good for my peace of mind, and I need to plan times to do it. I get sad and cranky when I have been too busy to create.

I’ve been sending handmade Christmas cards to friends and family for almost 10 years. I always make several test designs before choosing one to mass reproduce, and a few extra one-of-a-kind cards to use for delivering gift cards, cash and whatnot. Last year, I realized that I had built up a decent stash of test designs and extra one-of-a-kind cards, so I decided to send every person on my list a different card (I only had to make five or six cards to make sure everyone was covered). As my family and friends visited each other over the holidays, I was surprised to find that they were searching through each other’s card displays to find my creations … some even began commenting on how much they had enjoyed the card that I had made “just for them.” It was such an unexpected bit of fun during a stressful season, and it really made everyone feel special (myself included). I’ve already started making one-of-a-kind cards to do the same this year. My goal is to have them all done in time!

TO get organized!!!!! I know that isn’t ‘crafting’ exactly but I get to my craft room and the creativity is sucked out of me because it isn’t organized and I can’t find things I know I have. Once the kids are back in school I know I can get it done. Then my actual craft goal would be to get birthday cards made for everyone for the year ahead so I don’t miss anyones’ birthday!!

Last year, I began a new tradition of making Christmas ornaments for my four kids and their significant others. My intent is that they will all have a piece of me and my love for crafting each year on their Christmas tree long after I am gone. So this year, I would like to have these special ornaments crafted before the end of October. My plan is to use the Petite Places mini scenes/Scene It dies. Thanks so much Betsy Veldman for so much inspiration. You have a true gift for creation and design!

Love this release! It would be perfect for one of my goals, which is to make a bunch of treat bags for the trick or treaters this fall. However, the biggest thing I want to do is finish up all the party favors for my niece’s wedding, and the note cards for her well wishes/advice box she is going to have displayed. *fingers crossed it will turn out well* Thanks so much for all the sneak peaks, and to your design team for doing such an amazing job on all of these projects!!

One of my biggest crafting goals for this fall is to start my husband’s liver transplant scrapbook. He is on the list for transplant and I want to document his progress. So far it’s been a downhill road for him as we watch the toll this disease has taken on his poor body. But one day soon, he will get a new liver…can’t wait for that.
