Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!

Love & Laugh Card

For my first project I pulled out the new Beautiful Butterflies Layers stamp set from Maile!  It is always fun to bring new life to some of your old favorites like Maile has done for her Beautiful Butterflies stamp set + dies!

Butterfly closeup

I wanted to layer two different butterflies together for contrast, so I did just that using a smaller cardstock butterfly over a vellum butterfly both die cut with the original Beautiful Butterflies dies.  The cardstock layer was accent with the coordinating image found in Beautiful Butterflies Layers.

Butterflies

I created the butterflies in three monochromatic schemes:

Hibiscus Burst + Raspberry Fizz

Limeade Ice + Simply Chartreuse

Summer Sunrise + Orange Zest

Sentiment

The sentiment (from Meadow Greens) was stamped in the lower corner of the Classic Kraft card base using black ink.  I used a ruler and white gel pen to add a frame around it.  This additional white element also helps balance out the white found on the vellum butterflies.

Down

I used narrow Scor-tape to adhere just the centers of the butterflies to my card front, folding the wings upward for dimension.

Butterfly Thanks Card

If you want to talk about a quick and easy card, this one fits the bill!  It literally takes ten minutes, so it's great for when you need something quickly.  You can make it for a variety of occasions because of all the sentiments covered in the new Swoosh stamp set!

Closeup

I die-cut the butterfly from Hawaiian Shores Bitty Dot paper, then die-cut it in half with the "thanks" Swoosh die, reserving both halves.

Side

The "thanks" sentiment from Swoosh was stamped onto a white card front at a slight angle using Tropical Teal ink.  I then adhered each half of the butterfly around the stamped sentiment.

Down

The coordinating dies for Swoosh offer up so many design opportunities like this!  I am looking forward to playing with them some more over the next few days!

With Love Butterfly Card

Of course I had to make something with Maile's new Watercolor Wonder paper pad.  Y'all, this collection id just amazing and something you definitely need to add to your collection  I just love it and can see myself getting a lot of use out of it.  One sheet is like pulling out a mostly completed card front!  Just add a little sentiment or focal point and you're done!

Butterfly closeup

For this card I die-cut the Beautiful Butterflies shape from the patterned paper sheet.  I then placed it on my card front so I could trace the shape of the opening with a pencil.  I removed the paper and stamped the sentiment in Summer Sunrise.   I used a Copic Marker to color in the center of the heart and followed up with a hint of glossy accents.

Side

The die-cut Watercolor Wonder paper was adhered with foam tape to create dimension for the opening.

Down

I accented the opening with a few wraps of crochet thread.  Now that I has shown you a few things that I have created, take a look at some of the team creations!
