It's all about sparkle and shine with today's post!  Glitter, confetti and more, are the stars of the show today, as we bring you another new collection of fabulous dies and stamps that are sure to leave you inspired!

New-products

Sparkle-&-Shine-Words-dies
Sparkle & Shine is a fun sentiment set with lots of options for building several different sentiments that cover a variety of occasions.  It is designed to coordinate with the Sparkle & Shine word dies (sold separately) or it can be used alone as well.  It’s also an excellent complement to the popular Make It Market: Shakers + Sprinkles kit, as well as the Shaker Shapes dies to create shaker elements for use on your cards or tags. 

The Details: 

  • Sparkle & Shine will be available for purchase on September 15th.
  • It will retail for $15.
  • Sparkle & Shine contains a total of 39 images. The “sparkle” word is just over 1 ½” wide and just under 1” tall.  The “shine” word is just over 1 1/8” wide and ¾” tall.  The largest sequin image is just under ½” in diameter.
  • A coordinating die collection will be available for sale separately, retailing for $5.  This collection includes a total of 3 dies.  2-1/2" x 1-1/2" (shine), 3" x 1-3/4" (sparkle), 1-1/8" x 1/8" (!)

 

This mini sentiment set is meant to coordinate with the Sparkle & Shine word dies and/or the main Sparkle & Shine stamp set.  The various words and phrases can be combined to create several different holiday sentiments.  They’re also a great complement to the Shaker Shapes dies, or try pairing them with the Sequin dies. 

The Details: 

  • Sparkle & Shine Holiday Additions will be available for purchase on September 15th.
  • It will retail for $5.
  • Sparkle & Shine Holiday Additions contains a total of 29 images.  The “peace” word measures just under 1” wide and just slightly less than ½” tall.  The phrase “sending a little” measures just over 1” wide and about 1/8” tall.  The larger string of lights measures approximately 1 ¾” wide and 1 1/8” tall when assembled with the coordinating bulb images.

 

Sparkle-&-Shine-Sequins-dies

As a follow-up to her popular Shakers & Sprinkles set, Betsy has designed a new set that features lots of sparkle and shine!  You're sure to love these coordinating sequin dies as well!

The Details: 

  • Sparkle & Shine Sequins die collection will be available for purchase on September 15th.
  • It will retail for $5.
  • Sparkle & Shine Sequins die collection contains a single die (19 wired shapes).  3-5/8" x 1-5/8" (overall), 1/2" (large sequin), 7/16" (medium sequin), 5/16" (small sequin)

Sparkle&Shine-Cover

Betsy has also designed an incredible pad of Sparkle & Shine Holiday paper that you will not want to miss out on!  Featuring designs similar to those included in the Shakers & Sprinkles pad that was included with the original kit, these papers feature a fresh holiday color scheme along with traditional holiday shapes and fun Christmas sentiments!

The Details: 

  • The Sparkle & Shine Holiday Paper Pad will be available for purchase on September 15th.
  • It will retail for $13
  • The pad measures 8-1/2" x 11" , including 18 sheets (3 sheets each of 6 designs)
  • This is printed on a very high quality linen cardstock
  • Twelve of the pages are divided into four different designs, each for perfect as a quick A2 card front.  Meaning that once they are cut down you actually have 48 card fronts in 16 designs (3 of each design).
  • The colors used in this collection are Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, Pure Poppy, Simply Chartreuse, New Leaf, and Ripe Avocado.

Now that I've made all of the formal introductions, let's get onto the projects!

Holiday Sparkle Card

Of course, O'Tannenbaum is a perfect pair with the Sparkle & Shine products as well as the new Shaker Shapes dies!

Tree closeup

I stamped the tree inside the shaker using a variety of inks to make it look more realistic.  The Aqua Mist sparkles were added using an image from Sparkle & Shine Holiday Additions set, followed by a 2-way glue pen and a little bit of glitter.

Shaken

The shaker itself is created with the Shaker Shapes: Circle die collection, topped with an Aqua Mist frame.  I filled the shaker with die-cut vellum stars (from the Shaker Shapes: Star die collection).  I also added a bit of Fake Sugar from the original Shakers & Sprinkles kit.

Sparkle

"Sparkle" was die-cut from white cardstock and then coated with Prisma Glitter, perfect for the theme of the card!

Border

I added a small border fo the diagonal stripes paper from the Sparkle & Shine Holiday Pad at the bottom of the card.

Down

This would definitely make a beautiful tag design too!

Time to Shine Card

The new Sparkle & Shine products as well as the Shaker Shapes dies can be used for things other than shaker cards!  They are all gorgeous on their own!

Shine

I used the Shaker Shapes: Star die to cut into my Soft Stone card front and left everything intact on my die platform while carefully removing the die.  I then placed the "Shine" die on top of that and ran it through my machine a second time.  Being careful to reserve all the pieces, I adhered all of them, including a white version of the word, onto my white card front.

Sentiment

This small Summer Sunrise banner was stamped with a sentiment from Sparkle & Shine in Orange Zest ink.

Sequins

I created some custom sequins using the new sequins die and Raspberry Shimmer cardstock.  I also cut some stars (using the Shaker Shapes: Circle dies) from Summer Sunrise bitty dot paper and tiny stars (Shaker Shapes: Star) from Orange Zest.  The tiny stars were coated with Glossy Accents.

Down

I also used a white gel pen and ruler to add a frame around my card front.  Here's a few quick tips on drawing your own frames.  Measure and mark each of the four corners with a small dot.  Then connect the dots by placing the ruler along the OUTSIDE of your line, rather than what will be the interior of your line/frame.  By turning the card and keeping your ruler on the outside of your line, you reduce the chances of smudging.  Keep the pen nice and vertical and be sure to "get it going" first on a piece of scratch paper.  I hope this helps some of you!

Christmas in the City Card

Of course the Shaker Shapes can be paired up with SO many previously released sets!  I thought it would be fun to make a little something with City Scene.

City

I stamped the buildings and trees for the interior of the frame and then added the taxi cab with a bit of foam tape.  I glittered a strip of Soft Stone cardstockto add as the "street".  I stamped the snowfall around the buildings in Soft Stone ink and then added some additional glitter.

Shaker

The shaker is filled with die-cut confetti and snowflakes (included in the Shaker Shapes: Snow Globe die collection) in Aqua Mist and New Leaf.  I also added a few teal seed beads.

Sentiments

The label included in the Snow Globe die set was cut from the top snow globe layer.  I backed it with white cardstock that was stamped with a sentiment from City Scene Holiday Sentiments set.  "Christmas" was die-cut from New Leaf cardstock using the new Wet Paint Holiday dies.  What other sets from your stash are you dreaming of pairing up with one of the Shaker Shapes dies?
