When Betsy proposed the whole idea of doing a lesson on color balance by using the kitchen equivalents of gallon, quart and pint, I immediately got excited. I just knew she could do an amazing job and teaching us ALL something new.
The challenge for this is to create a project using the gallon:quart:pint concept that Betsy outlines in her video. You're NOT going to want to miss this! Without further ado…
Wasn't that just AMAZING! I learned so much from this informative video! And you all are always requesting videos on color theory and design, so this fits that bill perfectly too!
You can read more from Betsy on her blog HERE.
Now, onto the projects the other design team members created using Betsy's theories…

I enjoyed seeing the same design made in different color amounts. Always learning something new every day!
I love this technique
This was fun I have never used the shrinking plastic before, that I can remember thanks for all the fun tutorials– I am looking forward to trying the UTEE one.
Always nice to have a refresher in color combining. Thanks for sharing so many great examples, ladies! It’s a good reminder to take your own style into account since even with one single “formula” being used by all, personal style can change the aspect and impact of the color ratios.
my favorite one so far! thank you!
This is a wonderful tip to keep in mind! Something so simple can make such a big impact!
Love to learn a theory or reasoning behind designing a card. It makes it seem so much simpler than I tend to make it sometimes (I can be an overthinker!).
I loved the examples. The are beautiful with such vibrant colors.
I love learning more about design and colour theory – thank you so much!!
