This week I am sharing some more insight into my design process and showing how I use random bits of inspiration to create unique sketches as a foundation for some of my projects.
You can take something as simple as this piece of graphic design…
and turn into a sketch like this…
followed by a project like this.

If you are joining along this week, here are the details concerning the Make It Monday Challenge.
–A new Make It Monday Challenge will go up every Monday morning at 9am EST.
–Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge. Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and one of the sketches provided in this post.
–Post your project on your blog, in your gallery or on any other photo-hosting site (such as photobucket or flickr).

Here are some different ideas for sources of inspiration when creating sketches as well as some actual sketches for you to use for this weeks challenge. Feel free to use the appropriate graphic within your blog post if you like.
You can use advertising from newspapers, magazines, event posters and more as inspiration for unique sketches.
Retail displays that catch your eye while shopping can also be used for inspiration.
Packaging for some of the products you use everyday could inspire you.
Many of the amazing graphic design pieces found around the web can be very inspirational.
You can use small portions of interesting scrap layouts to adapt to a unique card sketch.
Everyday objects, like this pot holder, can inspire you to create a fun sketch ideas.

TFS how you come up with your sketches. I tend to look at things and see how I can use it or something like it, ON my card. It rarely occurs to me to look at things as inspiration to create a sketch. I will be looking at things differently now. 🙂
