Make It Monday #14: Selective Inking

Sure you can mask stamp images, but sometimes it is just as easy, if not easier, to ink up only part of your image or sentiment in order to come up with a whole new look. Find out what we're talking about in this new technique video by Erin Lincoln.

A few still images of both the outside and inside of her project.

If you are joining along this week, here are the details concerning the Make It Monday Challenge.

–A new Make It Monday Challenge & video will go up every Monday morning at 9am EST.

–Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge.  Your project must use at least one Papertrey product and breaking up a sentiment using the selective inking technique.

–Post your project on your blog, in your gallery or on any other photo-hosting site (such as photobucket or flickr).

— Add your link to our —>InLinkz List<—

–You will have until 7am, Monday, May 16th, to add your link to the list to be eligible to win.  And you can enter as many times as you like.

–We will be tweeting and posting on our Facebook page every night (between 5-9pm EST) highlighting a Featured Project.  These tweets/Facebook postings will just be a shout-out regarding projects that caught our eye.  The tweets/Facebook postings no longer have any special merit regarding the actual contest.

–One randomly selected winner will be chosen from ALL the entries on Monday, May 16th, after 7am.  The winner will be posted here on this blog post, on Twitter and Facebook.  The randomly selected winner will get to select a FREE Papertrey stamp set of their choice!

Good luck to everyone and we look forward to seeing your projects!

Congratulations to Charlene Driggs!  You have been randomly selected to win a free stamp set of your choice!  Please be sure to email customer service with your selection and shipping information!  And thank you to everyone else for playing along!  All of the projects were amazing!

It’s always so surprising to see the thought process that go into making a card. Once it’s demonstrated you can see the details and the thought process of making a balanced card. Nice job on incorporating so many different techniques and getting the most out of our stamps and dies.

Great tutorial/beautiful card – I have been absent from card making for a while ….. but after watching your video – guess what I am doing tonight – making a card. I love how you explain all the steps – giving us many ways to use our stamps. I need to see it done and then I can go from there. Thank you for a great tutorial. PS – you got me wanting to buy some more stamps & dies too.

What helps me to prevent getting ink on parts I don’t want inked, I use Scotch tape to cover those parts and then remove the tape before stamping! Works like a charm!
Thanks for the tut and fun card!
