Make It Monday #5: Distressing Edges

Lisa Johnson created this informative video for your weekly challenge the time around.  Fun can be found in rooting around the tools you have in your toolbox to see what type of distressing you can apply to your project. Enjoy!



If you are joining along this week, here are the details concerning the Make It Monday Challenge.

–A new Make It Monday Challenge & video will go up every Monday morning at 9am EST.

–Create a project utilizing your take on the challenge.  Your project must use at least one Papertrey product of some kind and utilize a distressing technique.

–Post your project on your blog, in your gallery or on any other photo-hosting site (such as photobucket or flickr).

–You will have until 7am, Monday, March 14st, to add your link to the list to be eligible to win.  And you can enter as many times as you like.

–We will be tweeting and posting on our Facebook page every night (between 5-9pm EST) highlighting a Featured Project.  These tweets/Facebook postings will just be a shout-out regarding projects that caught our eye.  The tweets/Facebook postings no longer have any special merit regarding the actual contest.

–One randomly selected winner will be chosen from ALL the entries on Monday, March 14, after 7am.  The winner will be posted here on this blog post, on Twitter and Facebook.  The randomly selected winner will get to select a FREE Papertrey stamp set of their choice!

    Very nice video. I was at a crop all weekend and the gal next to me distressed quite a few things on her layouts. Nice reminders to use all our goods.

    I am loving the Make it Monday series and getting to see all the designers make cards. I especially like the comments they make about the different sets they are using and techniques. Each one has done a great job and I look forward to Monday’s these days…. Lisa, thank you for showing us such a fun card and technique that we can all do without buying extra tools… I will always think of you every time I peel potatoes!! : )

    Love your card, Lisa! It looks so simple and easy to make, yet it has a lot of punch. This is something I can whip up if I need a card really quickly. Thanks for the inspiration! I really enjoyed your video and project.

    This is a fabulous card, Lisa! It can be used for almost any occasion by changing colors and sentiments. That is always a plus. You helped me to understand the difference between distressed and vintage distressing, I appreciate that. TFS.

    I am so in love with your Make It Monday videos! The team always inspires me with new ways to use my stamps and today is no exception. I love your color combo Lisa and how you thought “outside the box” with the dressing up the stars.I’m with you, why buy more tools when I can use what’s on hand…that way I have more money for stamps!!     This video was sooo much fun! Love the colors of the stars together and such a fun way to make a birthday card! Ha ha, gotta add those star dies to my wish list now as well, ha ha! The distressing looks great on the stars! I’ll do my best to try as well and join the challenge, it’s a fun one!
