For this months Senior Design Team challenge, I had the gals get inky with an old favorite from the Papertrey collection, First Fruits.
Back when First Fruits was released in 2008, I instantly fell in love with the classically designed concepts that Becky Oehlers had contributed to the set and the way I was able to execute her vision. The basic decorative shapes can be used for SO many other things than the obvious, making it something you can turn to again and again.
I thought I would revisit one of my favorite projects from the original countdown of this set. It used the elegant two-step pineapple image as well as the bold background border stamp.
I called this the clip & curl technique, where you make small slits with a craft knife and curl each section upward, just slightly. It is a great way to add drama and detail to these pineapples!
Now, get even more inspiration from the rest of the gals!

How exciting to see one of my all time favorites being brought back to the fore. All of the elements in this set are such classic and basic designs–they will never go out of favor with me.
Thanks for sharing, and revisiting this great set.
WOW! Sometimes I see stamps and fall in love with them, but don’t get them because even though they hold a place in my heart, I’m intimidated and don’t know what to do with them or how to “pull it together”. These are so inspiring! Intimidation… BEWARE!… I stand strong with the creativity of many good crafters and artists at my side!
I have this set on my stamping table right now, one of the most elegant sets I own. Love the wheat image and that very kewl little background image. I will try that cut & curl technique on that pineapple this week. Might jazz it up a bit with a dot of glitter or rhinestone on each of those “petals”. Love, love, love this set! Thanks for focusing on this set!
Love it, one of my first sets! Betsy’s project is gorgeous!
Love your inspirations here today. All of the DT had great creations and was so fun to see all the FALL ideas. Thanks for revisiting the older set. I love it.
What awesome cards you card is stunning. Great stamp set. I love your stamps and this will have to be added to my list soon. Great blog hop so much talent and all thanks to your stamps and their minds. Wonderful
Love you ideas here today. I especially like it when you work with one of the older sets. It is so easy to get caught up in the excitement of the new sets that the older ones are neglected. I am digging this out and putting it to good use. Thanks for the inspiration!
All of these cards are wonderful! I LOVE how different they look, how inspirational they are and how they each hold that special warmth that Thanksgiving brings. TFS.
it makes you wonder where people get the idea that short-term planning will yield immediate rewards.
I had to refresh the page 2 times to view this page for some reason, however, the information here was worth the wait.
Excellently written article, if only all bloggers offered the same content as you, the internet would be a much better place. Please keep it up! Cheers.
