I love the first signs of spring with birds chirping, the lake thawing, longer sunny days and the first flowers popping up from the ground. It gets me in the mood to make floral cards. This featured card has all the spring vibes with florals, bright colors, fresh whites, lacey frames and fun ribbons and bows.

This card features following Papertrey Ink products:

Love to Layer: Laced Oval Die

Wrapped in Love stamp set and coordinating dies

Such a Treasure stamp set and coordinating dies

Into the Blooms: Bag of Blossoms dies

Cardstock and Inks used:

Stamper’s Select White cardstock

Harvest Gold cardstock and Harvest Gold Ink

Hibiscus Burst cardstock and Hibiscus Burst Ink

New Leaf cardstock

Sweet Blush Ink

Summer Sunrise Ink

Step-by Step Instructions

STEP 1: Cut a 10″ X 7″ piece of Stamper’s Select white cardstock and score down the center of the 10″ side to create a white A7 card base. Cut a 5″ X 7″ piece for the card front panel. Using markers, create little rose buds on the background, leaving ample room for more later. I used Copic markers in Y21, Y19, YG67, YG03, RV52, RV55.

STEP 2: Die cut the following: Love to Layer: Laced Oval Die smaller size from Hibiscus Burst and Harvest Gold and Stamper’s and Stamper’s Select White cardstock (cut two), Leaves from Into the Blooms: Bag of Blossoms dies from New Leaf cardstock.

Using the Such a Treasure stamp set and coordinating dies for the two sizes of roses and the Wrapped in Love stamp set and coordinating dies for the ribbons and bows, stamp and die cut the roses, ribbons and bows on Stamper’s Select White cardstock, using Sweet Blush, Hibiscus Burst, Harvest Gold and Summer Sunrise dye ink.

STEP 3: Attach the long ribbons and oval scallop frames to the card front, positioning them as shown.

STEP 4: Attach the solid white centers inside the frames. Attach the roses to the frame centers using foam tabs to make them stand out.

STEP 5: Attach greenery around the roses.

Die cut some rose buds from leftover pink and yellow cardstock using the two rose bud dies from the Into the Blooms: Bag of Blossoms dies and add to the background. Use a marker to add little greens around them to match the hand-drawn rosebuds. These buds add another dimension to the card’s background.

STEP 6: Using a die from the Into the Blooms: Bag of Blossoms dies, cut three to four little floral clusters from white cardstock. Add florals around the roses in front and behind the rose. Use a Copic Y19 marker or similar to add bright yellow centers to the tiny flower clusters.

Use a YG67 or similar marker to add darker green dots around the background rosebuds.

Stamp in True black and die cut the “friend” sentiment using the Such a Treasure stamp set and coordinating dies.

Attach the card front to the card base to complete the card.
