Going Places + Love to Layer: Circular Postage

July 29, 2024      Papertrey Ink      Leave a Comment

Our final day of the countdown is here and I can’t wait to show you the products we saved for last! Does anyone else love tickets as much as I do? What is it about having airline tickets to go somewhere fun, or ohhhhh, how about cruise tickets? Now you can create your own tickets for tons of different occasions and let the adventure begin!

Look at how Kelly used our World Map Stencil Collection to create her background!  Doesn’t it coordinate perfectly with all of our travel-themed products?

TIPS:

  • Use spray stain on an A2 panel before using the world map stencil to give the watery portions of the map a fun look!
  • Have fun mixing and matching all of the fun sentiments included in the Going Places stamp set!

I love how Kelly used our Into the Blooms: Gardenia die on this adorable project!  Doesn’t it add a tropical look and feel?  it makes me want to plan a trip to Hawaii or Tahiti!

Enjoy the Journey Project

SUPPLY LIST:

STAMPS: Going Places

INK: Classic Kraft, Sweet Blush, Dark Chocolate, Aqua Mist, Berry Sorbet, Ripe Avocado, Spring

PAPER: Classic Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Vintage Cream, Aqua Mist

DIES: Going Places, Vintage Travel Suitcase, Into the Blooms: Gardenia

TIPS:

  • Use mini gold brads to secure the handle on the suitcase.
  • Try using gold cardstock for the reinforcements on the corner of the suitcase for a realistic look.

Did you notice how Kelly used our In the Pocket Die? It’s one of my favorites! It provides the perfect place to tuck an invitation, money, gift card, and more!

I want to send this to my friends that just go married.  They love to travel and this would be the perfect way to give them travel money for their honeymoon!

Adventure Awaits Project

SUPPLY LIST:

STAMPS: Going Places, Adventure Away

INK: Classic Kraft, Spring Rain, True Black

PAPER: Spring Rain, Vintage Cream, Classic Kraft

DIES: Going Places, In the Pocket, Adventure Away

OTHER: Versamark, Encore Metallic Ultimate Silver Ink, Gold Embossing Powder, Adventure Away Hot Foil Plate, Gold Foil, Twine

TIPS:

  • For best results, use the highest heat setting on your foil machine for 30 seconds to get a good impression with the Adventure Away Hot Foil.
  • My project was inspired by a destination wedding invitation; try different color combinations to suit your creative needs.
  • Don’t hesitate to mix gold and silver for added interest! I chose to use gold foil, gold embossing powder, and a silver ink pad for variety.

The Going Places stamp set images are so much fun to layer to create a collage effect, just as Melissa has done here with her Adventure Awaits tag.  Don’t be afraid to overlap stamped images, using different colors and images!

Destination Happiness Card

SUPPLY LIST:

STAMPS: Going Places

INK: Classic Kraft, Ocean Tides, Fine Linen, Dark Chocolate, Olive Twist, Smokey Shadow

PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Ocean Tides, Classic Kraft

DIES: Going Places, Pro Stamper’s Box: Leafy Greens

OTHER: Scrunched Seam Binding, Safety Pin, Sequins, Distress Pearlized Spritz

TIPS:

  • Use your hot foil plates as impression plates, simply by running them through your die cut machine with your desired card base and shims.  I brought out the details in my impression by swiping Classic Kraft ink across the surface area and then lightly sanding the raised details.
  • Use the random, dotted stamp image in the Going Places stamp set to create faux splatters on your card base.  You won’t be able to put this stamp down it’s so much fun!

Melissa loves her vellum and she’s incorporated a layer of it on this fun card of hers.  She die cut a Love to Layer: Circular Postage circle from vellum and added it between her tags to create an extra layer of dimension.  Isn’t it just fabulous?

Destination Relaxation Card

SUPPLY LIST:

STAMPS: Going Places

INK: Olive Twist, Classic Kraft, Dark Chocolate, Melon Berry, Ripe Avocado, Fresh Snow

PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Ocean Tides

DIES: Going Places, Double Ended Banner, Reflections:  July, Border Bling: Celestial Night, Love to Layer: Circular Postage

OTHER: Metal Accent, Patterned Paper, Distress Pearlized Spritz

TIPS:

  • Add unexpected layers by crisscrossing your Double Ended Banners die cuts underneath your tags and focal points.
  • Stamp your die cut banners with images from the Going Places stamp set to add personality, pattern, and character!

The postage stripes are one of my favorite elements from the Going Places stamp set.  They add so much character and interest.  I love how Liane stamped them in black on this card, creating such wonderful contrast!

Paradise Awaits Card

STAMPS: Going Places

INK: Tim Holtz Distress Oxides: Salvaged Patina, Worn Lipstick, Pickled Raspberry, Mustard Seed

PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Raspberry Fizz, Lovely Lady

DIES: Going Places

OTHER: Colored Cardstock, Twine, Versafine

TIPS:

  • Layer the tags at different angles and heights to add interest.
  • Add small, stamped images to fill in any empty spaces for a coordinated look.

Liane’s rainbow zinnias are amazing and unique, don’t you think?  Her use of silver glittered cardstock for the flower center rings makes them even more glamorous!  I love how Liane topped our new Love to Layer: Circular Postage die cuts with a bloom…absolute perfection!

Let’s Celebrate You Card
