It’s the final day of our fabulous February release…and we’ve saved the best for last! Introducing the new Feathered Friends 20 die collection. This new bird is entirely too cute for words and so enjoyable to create with.

It seems with each new Feathered Friend, I find a brand new favorite, and that’s exactly the case with our handsome rooster. Just sitting down, adding color, pattern, texture, etc. is like watching magic happen! This set of dies is so easy to assemble and comes together in a pinch. All you have to do is decide what colors you’d like to use.

I cut my chicken from white cardstock and added Fine Linen, Honey Nut, Saffron Spice, and Melon Berry to create a soft, creamy chicken. I also cut pieces of Scarlet Jewel cardstock to add to the tail feathers, feet, and head. Lastly, I added a few speckles using Distress spray.

Behind my chicken, I used the new Spring Blessings stamp set for my sentiment. Before stamping my sentiment, I used the Sun & Surf Stencil and Bright Buttercup ink. This is one of my most favorite stencils, and it’s been too long since I’ve used it. I surrounded my sentiment using hearts from the Beautiful Bouquet: Mother Mini stamp set.
Wait until you see what our amazing designers have created using Feathered Friends 20…so creative and delightful!
Supplies Used:
STAMPS: Spring Blessings, Beautiful Bouquet: Mother Mini
INK: Bright Buttercup, Honey Nut, Saffron Spice, Pure Poppy, Scarlet Jewel, Olive Twist, Fine Linen, Melon Berry
PAPER: Stamper’s Select White, Olive Twist, Bitty Big Spring Moss
DIES: Feathered Friends 20, Border Bling: Believe, Weave a Basket, Noted: Simply Stitched A2 Vertical
OTHER: Distress spray, adhesive gems, patterned paper

- I wanted to make a folk art like background by placing a white On the Border: From the Heart Frame die-cut onto a Perfect Match: Enchanted Evening Cardstock panel.
- I used thin adhesive foam squares to pop the white rooster elements one above another to prevent blending them all together.
- A black base die-cut was added between the white rooster and white circle also to prevent the white elements from blending in.

TIPS:
- I die-cut all elements of the rooster out of white cardstock, which I then colored by blending Distress Ink onto them.
- To make the background I blended Mustard Seed and Salty Ocean Distress Inks onto a white panel and stamped “wheat heads” using Yellow Dye Ink.
- I trimmed the Picket Fence die-cut in the bottom part, to coordinate it with the rooster size.
