Hi everybody, welcome to our new feature What do I do with this? For this challenge our designers will get to try out some of these new tools and share the projects they created using them. We’ve got some fun, new things coming to the Papertrey Ink store and our designers will show you how to use them so you’ll be comfortable incorporating them into your card-making and gift-giving. Stay tuned for exciting and creative things coming your way! We want to share what our designers love with you, and this gives you a first-hand look into their crafty-faves!

Tim Holtz Distress Texture Set contains two very fun mediums pretty much essential for holiday cards – Icicle Crackle Paste and Snowfall Grit Paste.
I used the Icicle Crackle Paste to create a fun icy cracked background. First I inked Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Inks to color a white panel and then generously applied the paste onto it and put it aside to dry. After it dried out it crackled beautifully and ideally non-ideal. I rubbed the Picket Fence Distress Crayon along the cracks to highlight them.
To make the fir frame I used the On The Border: Fir Branches Die which I die-cut out of the Paper Basics – Rustic Cream Cardstock. And then I applied the Snowfall Grit Paste onto it, setting it aside to dry as well. It added a beautiful snowy texture to the branches.
I adhered the frame onto the cracked panel and added two deers which I made using the Deer To Me Die Set and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.
A white-on-black sentiment strip was made using a stamp from the Winter Wonder Stamp Set. Several Rainstones were added to accentuate the card.
