What do I do with this?

Hi everybody, welcome to our new feature What do I do with this?  For this challenge our designers will get to try out some of these new tools and share the projects they created using them.  We’ve got some fun, new things coming to the Papertrey Ink store and our designers will show you how to use them so you’ll be comfortable incorporating them into your card-making and gift-giving.  Stay tuned for exciting and creative things coming your way!  We want to share what our designers love with you, and this gives you a first-hand look into their crafty-faves!

Let’s get started!

This month we are creating with beautiful Rain Stones for our What Do I Do With This Challenge. They are one of my favorite embellishments that can serve several purposes. They can hide small mistakes but they are also great for adding some dimensional sparkle and shine to a project. I love the look of dew-kissed flowers and leaves, so that is how I chose to use them. My card has flowers from the newly released Prosperous Perennials and leaves are die cut from Into the Blooms II die set. I cut the florals from leftover pieces of watercolor paper that was inked with a variety of distress inks then splattered with white paint. The background panel was stenciled with Weathervane dye ink using a hexagon stencil. Rain drops were adhered using Bearly Art precision craft glue and with the aid of a jewel picker tool.

STAMPS: Prosperous Perennials, Inside Greetings: Happy Hello.
INK: Hibiscus Burst (sponged on flower edges), Weathervane, True Black.
PAPER: Bristol Smooth Surface; White, Weathervane (Papertrey Ink).
DIES: Mix and Mat: Postal Die, Border Bling: Tin Stitch, Prosperous Perennials, Vintage Travel, Into the Blooms II.
OTHER: Rain stones, Star brads.
