Hi everybody, welcome to our new feature What do I do with this?  For this challenge our designers will get to try out some of these new tools and share the projects they created using them.  We’ve got some fun, new things coming to the Papertrey Ink store and our designers will show you how to use them so you’ll be comfortable incorporating them into your card-making and gift-giving.  Stay tuned for exciting and creative things coming your way!  We want to share what our designers love with you, and this gives you a first-hand look into their crafty-faves!

 

This month we are working with the Nuvo Blender Brushes.

Let’s get started!

 

I had a bunch of folks ask me on how I made a similar card for the May release so I made a video showing you how! I tried out the Nuvo Blending brushes for this card and I absolutely love easy it is to blend dye inks seamlessly. So I used the opportunity to change the orientation a bit and try out a different color palette… hope this inspired you try out some of the new products in store!

STAMPS: Harvest Berries
DIES: Summer Shells Die
PAPER: Fresh Snow cardstock
OTHER: Nuvo blender brushes, Pink, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue and Purple dye inks, holographic cardstock, white gel pen, color pencils

 

Nuvo Dual Tipped Blender Brush work great with stencils and are perfect for building a background scene.
I used a Sunray Stencil with Lemon Tart and Summer Sunrise ink to stencil the sunrays and at the bottom of the card I used blended Blueberry Sky and Enchanted Evening Ink to add the water.
I also blended Lemon Tart and Summer Sunrise on a circle of white cardstock to create the sun.  Blending brushes also allow you to add a little color in select places. At the bottom of the clouds I lightly brushed on Spring Rain Ink and at the bottom of the clouds and Soft Stone Ink at the bottom of the sea gulls. The little touch of ink make the die cut images stand out against the background.
The sailboat is created with the Seas of Life Stamp Set. I used foam tape to attach the boat to add dimensions to the card.

OTHER: Nuvo  Dual Tipped Blender Brush, White Embossing Powder, Clear Jewels, Foam Tape, Sunray Stencil

RULES

To enter, participants are required to create a card using a stencil to blend the background using PTI/Ink to Paper supplies and Melody or Kavya’s technique or your very own. Share your finished project via the link below. We can’t wait to see what you make!

Only one entry per person and the deadline is June 7th at 6am. This post will be updated with the randomly selected winner.
