Every Summer, I look forward to inviting family and friends to gather on our front porch. Long talks and laughter fill our hearts as we slow down, relax, and reconnect. It’s fun to send everyone home with fresh picked bouquets from our old-fashioned, cottage garden. Summertime and front porches make such sweet memories! ?
I love lazy summer days with my family, especially watching my kids run through the sprinkler during the day and roasting marshmallows for smores with them at night.
I am not sure this is a “tradition” but there is a recipe that my entire family really enjoys, so I do make it at least one time each summer. It is apricot brandy slush…a very refreshing and delicious drink. I suppose a more “traditional tradition” would be planting my garden each year, something I really look forward to.
My favorite summer tradition is having a neighborhood barbeque and potluck. We do this several times during the summer and it is always a lot of fun.
Making summer fruit pies, cobblers, and cakes; cutting fresh zinnia bouquets from my flowers garden and giving them away to friends and family; and hanging out with my family with a more relaxed schedule.
Hi! My favorite summer activity is to be with my best friend, because no matter where we are or what we’re doing, we laugh a lot, reminisc, and figure out new waysto help someone. We’ve always been that way since 1971, when, by happinstance, we ended up as
roommates in college!

Every June we head over to a u-pick strawberry farm to get strawberries. We always laugh that it’s a good thing they don’t weigh us , because there is nothing better then a fresh ripe strawberry straight off the plant. We call it quality control!
I don’t know if it’s necessarily a tradition, but I always look forward to hanging out by the pool and barbecuing with family and friends during the summer.
We have a very large vegetable garden and our favourite tradition is when the first tomato is ripe to bring it in and have a toasted tomato sandwich. Taste of pure summer. Thanks for a chance to win. Cheers.

As for my favorite summer tradition, I would say the picnics ! I love spending time outside and doing it with good company is even better.
Growing up is was a Saturday lunch with BLTs made fresh from our garden with home grown tomatoes! I can still smell the bacon Mom would fry up and the taste of those fresh from the garden that morning tomatoes!

Family reunions are one of my summer traditions. I also have each of my nearby grandchildren spend the night. Then we go to lunch the next day, to the Dollar Tree and maybe a movie here or in the theater.

We live in Washington state and try to go to the Long Beach International Kite Festival each August. It is so much fun to watch hundreds of kites flying on an ocean beach all at the same time and then go fly our own kites!
My mother-in-law made THE BEST potato salad! So for the last 38 years of our marriage, I make her recipe on the 3 major summer holidays…Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. At 5 lbs of potatoes per holiday…thats A LOT of peeling!!!

My favorite summer tradition….hmmm. There are so many things I enjoy about summer….picking the fresh blueberries and raspberries from my garden for breakfast each morning…. Fires in our chiminea with marshmallows to roast and s’mores to create and of course crazy campfire songs to sing when the guitars come out…Walks on the beach near our home as the sun goes down and the waves serenade us with their songs…. Backyard pool parties at my parents home with the family and the never ending water games we play….Summer is just the best! Long fun and lazy days spent with all the people we love! What could be better?!

hmmmm, favorite summer holiday for me is the MLB All Star Game, I know it’s not a real holiday but it’s still my favorite!
My favourite summer tradition is the time we spend with my in-laws’ at Christmas time. We always go there for about a week and the cousins get to catch up with each other.
Shopping for summer flowers for around my house — I love picking new flowers each year and new colors. It just makes me happy!
My son got married and moved to Canada 5 years ago, so my favorite summer tradition is fairly recent…it’s the week in August that they and my grandson come home to visit! Getting close, yay!!

Summer is pretty hot and humid here in the south, so probably making things for Christmas in july. I usually start making a few items at that time to get a head of all the things that go on in the fall that take my time away from crafting.
Night swimming – at least once in the season we ignore the risk to life and limb of the voracious mosquitoes and swim under the stars. It’s magical, even if the next few days we all smell of sarna!

It would have to be going to the Hollywood Bowl. We usually picnic first and then see a show. We’ve been going for years now and it’s always something we look forward too every summer.

My favorite summer tradition is having friends and family over for pool time. We have lots of pool toys and floats, and we all just hang out and have a great time. Fish tacos are my go to meal for the easy summer days around the pool.

Picnics with family everywhere. Getting fresh fruit from the gardens and catching fireflies and letting them go before bed. Simple happy times.
We love to go camping but don’t always get the time so in between we enjoy campfires in our backyard.
For the last 21 years, we have gone to a Family Reunion on my husbands side, in Siesta Key, Florida. We just got home from it yesterday, and even though it rained every day and we couldn’t go to the beach, we had awesome visits with family we only get to see once a year. (Plus fabulous food and some shopping fun!)

Opening the pool! We gave up vacations afar to build an oasis in our backyard that brings us many hours of summer fun and relaxation. We are in Pa., so we even have solar panels to lengthen the swim season. Love it!
Going on vacation! We decided several years ago, that with only 10 years left before my eldest leaves for college, we would commit to taking a vacation each summer as a family. We’ve been alternating between foreign and domestic vacations, and it’s been such a special time to have together.

We usually try to go on a family summer vacation where all the kids are able to attend. Sometimes it is hard to plan around all the schedules, but I try. I can usually find at least a weekend that works for all.

My favourite time in summer is July 1, Canada Day when the whole family gets together to kick off the summer up at our cottage. Everyone brings food, swims and stays for a few days. It’s great bonding time.

Since my birthday is in July, it has become a tradition for my hubby and me to spend it up in Monterey, CA. This is my favorite get-away place! The weather is so pleasant (much cooler than where we live) and I absolutely love going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Sadly, this year…we won’t be going in July, but hopefully on the fall.
My favorite summer tradition is a past one. I always loved going to my Grandparents house in the summer. We would go camping or to the lake or just stay at their house. No matter what we did, it was always fun!

Our annual vacation plans include a trip to the beach every year…and we return to the same spot each year as we have for about 30 years now. We enjoy the quiet, family friendly style atmosphere rather than some of the bigger, more glitzy beach destinations.
While my family doesn’t have any annual summer “traditions”, I always enjoy a day at the lake having a picnic with family and friends when the weather is beautiful!

I had to think hard to find something we have done/do more than once! The last 5 years we have managed a day trip to a beach town and have fish and chips for lunch (this is traditional fare in Britain). One care free and lazy day!

It doesn’t sound like a summer tradition, but my favorite tradition ever is going out of state for a school clothes shopping trip with my girls. It’s the best, most precious time just us girls!
For the past ten years or so, I make a trek to New England. So much to enjoy on these trips: a slower pace, seafood and sea views, historical sights, and recollections of many happy memories.
Every year we go to Ennis, Montana fly fishing the Madison River. We have been going to Montana to fly fish the beautiful rivers for over 38 years with our boys. For the last 18 we have stayed outside of Ennis at the Rainbow Valley Lodge. We go around the 4th of July.
It is a festive time with some of the same people coming every year from all over the United States and other countries. We have made lasting friendships. Now our grandkids come and are learning the art of flyfishing and have made friends with other ‘grandkids’! I have even gone to a card making party on a cattle ranch high up in the valley mountains. It was beautiful and fun being with crafters. It is not the only thing we do during the summer but it is surely a lasting favorite.
Now that my children are grown, I look forward to summer to take photos of the Milky Way and wild flowers, and of course it is swimming season for our Golden Retriever– we take him daily to a local state park for a walk and a swim–best days ever!

It’s a newer summer tradition, but we have been visiting a friend in Seattle for July 4th. Summer in Seattle is beautiful. We couldn’t go this year since the airfares were doubled/tripled due to the Boeing Max 8 flight cancellations, but hope to make it next year.

My favorite summer tradition is eating cantaloupe from the Farmer’s Market because it is my favorite fruit. It is also what I craved while I was pregnant. This release has everything I love about card making and you’ve done an outstanding job with this new website and card designs.

My favorite summer tradition is going on vacation with my family. I love spending time with them at the lake or the beach! And now I have 3 granddaughters which is even better. Great release! I have several items on my wish list.
Our wedding anniversary is in late August, and our tradition is to go away for the weekend someplace within an hour of where we live and stay at a Bed and Breakfast. Even though we’ve taken much bigger trips and had bigger adventures, this is still a favorite get-away with my favorite guy!
My favorite summer tradition is watching fireworks. We watch them in one town on July 3, another on July 4, and then on three different nights in late July/early Aug, we go up to Vancouver, BC, and watch fireworks in the international competition they host. They are spectacular!

My favorite summer tradition is making pies, tarts and coffee cakes from the wild black raspberries that we pick and fresh blueberries from my brother-in-law’s garden. There are certain recipes that are just better with fresh fruit and we all look forward to them.
EACH YEAR MY FAVORITE DAY IS FLOWER SHOPPING DAY. THE GREENHOUSES ARE FILLED WITH BLOOMING FLOWERS IN TRAYS OR POTS OF VARYING SIZES; ALL BEGGING TO BE CHOSEN FOR THAT TRIP TO MY GARDEN. BUT, NOW THAT I AM LIVING IN AN ASSISTED LIVING COMMUNITY, I HAVE ONLY A BALCONY FOR A FEW BEAUTIES. A FLOOR LOWER HAS A BLANK HILLSIDE SURROUNDED BY LIVE HOLLY TREES AND SMALL EVERGREENS. THE ONLY WAY TO ENTER THIS SPACE IS BY A CODE….THEREFORE IT HAS THE NAME “SECRET GARDEN”. SOME FRIENDS AND I NOW BUY SEED PACKS AND PERENNIALS TO GLORIFY A FORMERLY DRAB AREA. THIS YEAR SUNFLOWERS AND PETUNIAS, HISSUP AND CLEMATIS ARE IN CHARGE. RECENTLY AN ICE CREAM SOCIAL WAS OFFERS AS A YUMMY ACTIVITY. AND WHILE WE LICKED THE ICE CREAM, WE ADMIRED IN RAINBOW HUES.
Summer and swimming go hand in hand for me. Swimming is the best part of summer and my favorite tradition.

Catching (and releasing) fireflies is a great tradition I share with my grandsons and brings many happy memories from childhood.
We would catch them and put them in jars with holes punched in the lid for air. After we went to sleep Mom would turn the fireflies loose and we would start again the next evening.
Every year we take a road trip up north, with my kids taking a couple friends. We do a little novelty shopping, have pizza, then spend the day at the beach. A little McDonald’s stop on the way home. We look forward to it every year!
When I was a kid it was going to visit our relatives in Minnesota. They had a little resort on a lake & we would go fishing. Now I look forward to the 4th of July when we have a potluck dinner at my brother’s. After shooting off fireworks my sister in law serves her fabulous Oreo ice cream dessert!
