Martha says
A bird! I love watching them fly around our feeder and bird bath. I also love watching the shore birds rush around the shoreline and pelicans gracefully soar over the ocean.
Julie says
I would choose to be a snuggly kitty who loves her family, but also can be independent.
Stephanie Clapper says
If I woke up this morning to be any animal I’d want to be a household kitty, just like my Sasha. Loved, petted and spoiled – she is queen of the home.
Diana says
If I could choose to be an animal I would like to be an eagle. I could fly where ever I’d like to, I had a great view and I would’t be so small to be eaten by another animal.
Marla Harris says
If I could be any animal I would be a dog because I would get to enjoy human contact and love but not have to work!
Diane Jackson says
I would choose to be a cat. Of course it would be best to be as luck as my two cats who have the best life, coming and going at will, well loved and petted, yes spoiled!
Donna Phelan says
Perhaps a seagull so I could live out my days on the beach (where I currently live lol)
SusanP says
A cat of course! I am a certified cat lady and would love sitting around all day being pampered and taking naps! 🙂
Terri Earley says
A horse ?. They are well loved and I would want to be a barrel racer.

I’d be a bird possibly a eagle or robin. I’d love to fly, soar and dive through the sky.

Most definitely a bird. To fly freely and view the world from the air.
Denise Bryant says
A Panda because I think they are adorable
Amy McCue says
I think I would like to be a dolphin because they swim so beautifully through the seas. They are graceful, intellegent and beautiful.

A small owl. I have one outside my window each night and haven’t seen it yet. Up all night with a sharp chirp & as soon as the sun starts to peek & other day birdsongs begin, she is silent & flies deeper into the forest.
Aunt Min says
I would like to be a hawk. Just for a day – so I could soar above the ground and see things from a different perspective.
Yvonne F. says
If I could be any animal I would be a dog. Living with a nice family, enjoy my life, sleep, walk, run, eat…
Marianne says
A cat, definitely. I would love to curl up and take a nap where and whenever I pleased and be pampered like our own cats.
rachel w says
I’m going to have to go with penguin, my favorite animal. Life would absolutely be an adventure: traveling long distances with my family, having a lifelong relationship with my mate, going on daring afternoon swims in the beautiful blue water. Until one day I’m eaten by a sea lion and my penguin life is over. We all have to go sometime right, but it would be quite a journey until that point.
Maureen says
My answer would have to be that I would like to wake up as a lion. This is for two reasons one I would be muscular and physically fit and two I would be at the top of the food chain!
Karen S. says
I would be a cat. Cat owners are generous & loving, thus allowing me (as the cat) to be loved while still remaining independent.
Lynn W says

An animal?! Too funny! I guess I’d be a squirrel because I enjoy watching them and feeding them! We have two albino squirrels which have been a joy to watch. Love how they can scamper through the tree tops and hang from the tree to stretch.
Tanja S. says
Difficult question. I think a dolphin as they seem to enjoy the company of each other of whales and even like swimming alongside boats. Otherwise a bird, any type that flies.
Sue says
I would love to be a spoiled dog in my own household. All I would have to do is sit by the door and groan to go out for a walk or to go out to play and then lay around and wait for someone to feed me- ha
Linda Lander says
I would have to choose a panda….they seem to live a sedate but happy life.
Bamboo appears to be their only vice.
DGolly says
I would want to be an eagle, able to soar above the world and go wherever I want to fly. It’s also good that I would be the predator and not the prey so I could have a long and healthy life.
ErinS says

I would choose a blue bird, I think. I’ve always thought they were so precious.
Candi VDW says
I would be a panda. They are cute and adorable. You get to eat as much bamboo as you want. Bamboo grows so fast that I should always have something to eat.
Betty Bywater says
I would like to be a dolphin. These beautiful sleek animals travel in the company of others and can communicate between themselves. I would love to choose a dog or horse because most of them are so beautiful and my favorite animals, However, I think it would have to be an eagle. The way they soar, traveling over land with such confidence, strength, and courage. I would be able to go anywhere and see anything at a moments notice, so cool.
Marianne M says

Oh wow, that’s a tough one.. Growing up I fantasized about being a mermaid – I wanted to breathe under water and be a part of the sea.. Since they aren’t real, I’ll go with a whale. No enemies (at least under water ones), they’re intelligent and caring mommas, and they live for a long time 🙂

Food, water, and a soft surface would always be available. And any time the humans sat down, I’d be right there, occasionally in the way, insisting on head scratches, rubs, and two-handed scratches from ears to tail. sherry butcher says
Wonderful, Love this new release. I would love to be a Blue/Sliver Dragon who could fly and no one would mess with.
Susan says
I think I’d like to be a cat (although I would probably be allergic to myself, LOL). Cats are independent and can entertain themselves. Aloof when they want to be but can snuggle with their humans WHEN they decide to. Sounds like the perfect life for me – so go to the shelter and adopt a cat TODAY!

My initial thought was that I’d be a domestic cat because it is well-loved, pampered, petted, fed and can still be independent, but decided that would get boring. My second animal under consideration was a butterfly because it gets to live among flowers and is appreciated for its beauty, but its lifespan is too short. My third, and final, choice was a cardinal for it too is appreciated for its beautiful stunning color (Guess I’d be coming back as a male!) and it flies with ease and sings with abandon. Although, I’m not sure I’d want to eat worms!

Oh my believe it or not this is a hard question to answer as I am a huge animal person but I think I’d want to be a dolphin. They are not only adorable but they have fun playful personalities, are loyal, and help in times of need. I first hand have experienced them helping and this was in the wild too. So yep definitely a dolphin for me 😉
Carole says
I would love to be a snow leopard! They are rare and beautiful and an endangered species. If I was a snow leopard I could run like the wind and scale steep slopes. I would be solitary and elusive and I like those traits for I am a solitary being who spend more time crafting than visiting.

Ideally a dolphin because I think they are such intelligent animals and I can’t swim! But because they are sadly hunted so often I’d probably go with a dog. My dog is lazy just eats, sleeps, and plays.

Deborah Rosenow says
A cat that lives with my stepmom. Those cats have the best life ever and loved beyond words.
Brenda Lee says
Not the most exotic answer, but I would want to be a house cat. Specifically a Maine Coon. I last my furbaby last year to kidney failure. He was the absolute best. If I were like him, I would be independent but loveable, help my owner with their stamping by sitting on whatever they were working on, sleep as much as possible yet be engrossed with crumpled up paper for as long as it doesn’t roll under furniture and finally have my belly rubbed for as long as possible…that was my Kittie and I would be extremely happy being just like him. April Z. says
I would definitely be a house cat so I could nap as much as I wanted. :)))
paula e. says
At first I was going to say a bird- as a child, I often thought it would be so liberating and exciting to be able to soar above the ground…but as an adult I would have to say a dog-probably a golden retriever- who belonged to a family who loved me as much as I loved them.

I would be a Golden Retriever and hopefully live in a home like ours where I would be well loved and cared for and if my golden lived there too-I couldn’t ask for any thing more!
Melissa S. says
I would say a cat or a songbird. A cat because they are independent but yet choose their moments to be completely snuggable and vulnerable, and they usually land on their feet. A songbird because I would want to make beautiful music to praise my savior, Jesus, that would attract others to him.
LeeAnne says
If I woke up and had become an animal, I think I’d want to be a cat; they have nine lives, after all!

Wow, such an interesting question! I think I would choose to be an owl – I love to fly, love feathers (PTI stamps included!) and I’m bookish.
Susan N says
Not a cat-if you get to go outside and you live in the country, you eat mice, birds, and baby rabbits-or drop them at your owner’s door. Not a T Rex-they’re extinct and I’m not quite there yet. I don’t want to be some animals’ prey. Assuming I would have a good home and I get my choice of what kind of dog I could be, it would be a border collie. You get to run like the wind, herd up the sheep, and be the invaluable constant companion to the shepherd. (But if I had to be a cat, I’d want to live with my sister who has never turned away a stray cat and cares for each one like her children and finds loving homes when her “litter” is full.)
Deb R. says
I would come back as my girlfriend’s dog. He is spoiled rotten!

My first thought was that it would be great to be an eagle, soaring on the winds! My next thought was that with my tendency to be negative, being a dog, where every person is a new best friend, and every activity is “my favorite thing!!!” would be very good for me! And then it occurred to me what would truly be amazing: I would like to be an octopus with 8 arms to accomplish everything I need to!
Patt H. says
I would want to be a house cat! A nice place to sleep, good food & someone to clean up after me while I lay around on a soft bed. Sounds good to me!

Great question! I have enjoyed reading the responses. Even though I love many animals and their ability to be in the here-and-now, I would love to come back as another person who can either sing or play the guitar (both would be awesome). Polly Lemire says
A parrot -full of gorgeous colors, enjoying people, and living a grand and very long joyful life .
Kim Heggins says
I’m not a big animal person so I would have to go with waking up as a big stuffed Teddy Bear…one that would be loved and hugged by it’s human family.
Leigh Penner says
I actually have no idea. They thought of being prey terrifies me, so maybe a big predator. Maybe a lioness, since they live in prides.
Marisela Delgado says
Geez, considering it is a rhetorical question and should not think about poachers and predators, I would say a giraffe. They are so beautiful. BY THE WAY, only 100,000 giraffes exist in the wild on the ENTIRE African continent due to poachers. My second choice would be a polar bear! Talk about a predator, but they are so beautiful.

Tough question! I am happy being a human! But maybe I would want to wake up as a songbird – to fly and to sing a beautiful song.

More than likely I’d choose to be a housecat. My cat lives a pretty sweet life.

Praise the Lord that won’t happen, I’m pretty content as a woman:) But playing along, I would say a robin, they have nice strong thin legs, beautiful breast and their eyesight is remarkable…Have you watched them find worms in the earth? Amazing. To top it off they can fly.
Great release team!

If I could choose to be any animal, I think I would like to be a panda. They are so playful, even when they get older, there main job is to eat bamboo and look cute, and everyone loves them, XD!

I would be a friendly dog. Man/woman’s best friend.
