“One thing that I try and incorporate into most of my designs is the Rule of Odds. While even numbered items can create symmetry and balance, having an uneven number of items can foster more interest and encourage movement in a design. You can use this design principle with the amount of layers you include, number of embellishments, groupings of focal images, or even the amount colors you choose to incorporate.
