Welcome to a new feature at Papertrey Ink called Transformation Tuesday.
We all have cards that don’t necessarily turn out the way we had envisioned or a project that we designed to be feminine that could be made masculine with a few tweaks. Some of you may remember the Recipe Remix Challenge from SAF 2013. It’s sort of like that (but with our own projects instead of customer submitted projects). The idea is to show a project transformed into something fresh and new.
Melissa Phillips is sharing how she took a card she created with a soft color palette and transformed it with a darker, bolder color palette:
“What a fun challenge, taking a card you may or may not love and transforming it into something similar but different. For my transformation, I took a card created in a shabby, pastel color palette and created a second in a darker color palette with bold contrast. There are so many ways to transform our creations, I can’t wait to see what you’ll come up with.”

Melissa, the transformation is truly gorgeous… but then so was the original! I’m happy to see that you’ve remembered to include that lovely vellum – the perfect touch – every time, to me! I can hardly imagine that you started with Ocean Tides paper – so beautiful in its blended form.

TT has become one of my favorite challenges! The 2 I’ve played in so far have spurred me into redoing cards I would never have sent & now I have 2 I really like. Already have another one in mind to transform, but seeing Melissa’s 2 gorgeous cards, I might switch gears this time & transform a card I was pleased with. Thank you for the great challenge!

These are both so beautiful, Melissa … the ‘old’ is soft and dreamy and wonderfully delicate … the ‘new’ is fresh and crisp … the white embossing is so striking against the blended background! Thanks for such lovely inspiration … so much fun to play along with! Anita 🙂

I can’t imagine any of Melissa’s cards needing a transformation! Both of these are absolutely beautiful.
However, I do love the TT Challenge for my cards, I’ve got a bunch that will be transformed now 🙂
