I'm hoping you will be as captivated as I am by an artist I recently discovered. Izziyana Suhaimi merges the art of embroidery with paper and achieves stunning results. Are you feeling inspired? Check out the amazing "Stitch Studies" she did. Maybe incorporate holes only stitching dies onto your card front. Stamp backgrounds or images in shades of gray and add pops of color with your stitching. If you're feeling intimidated by actual sewing, just embellish your project with embroidery floss, using it like you would twine. Or even stamp your stitches if you have a great embroidery style stamp set on hand! Get creative and embrace the fun of combining these two types of handcrafts!

I love to embroider and have a drawer full of embroidery floss to try something new with.
One of my favorite embroidery techniques to date is to use crayons to color the fabric to give soft tints and then embroider over and around the tinting.
This looks like something I want to try. Thanks

Nichole, I don’t see a way to contact you on your blog, so I’ll try comments. I’m trying to find a link to your Papertrey Papercrafting Alphabet that you posted awhile back to pass along to my stamping group leader. Could you send me a link to it or tell me when it was posted and I can find it in my Feedly queue?

Thank you Nicole for sharing the link to Izziyana Suhaimi’s inspiring, beautiful, and meditative works. Textiles are such a natural marriage with paper and ink. Definitely need to incorporate more of this into my creations and document little phrases of feelings, thoughts, memories, emotions…Endless possibilities!
